crying right now lmao I thought I wouldn't but the tears just made their way out.

Also wondering if I should just go to Milan. sigh this is ridiculous and I'm sad. I'll be in Osaka during NHK but I won't BE there.

I know, it's heartbreaking... I planned the whole damn trip on this... I could try the 'have mercy on the poor foreigner' method, but it's unlikely it'd work...

I saw someone got it...They are probably experienced people...

Maybe their internet is super fast, still I don't think there are that many tickets available in the first place :tantrum:

NHK Lottery and GPF and Milan. Let's not give up! JTB can help if you can't get Japaese friends to enter for you. I'm going to try to find a way to get resale tickets without a Japanese credit card. I will report back with my findings!

I have hideous survivors guilt.

Don't feel guilty! Congratulations on getting at least one!

Thank you. I will drink it in with all my eyes and ears and report back.

I agree, it was probably just a handful for each category... That almost seems more unfair than if they hadn't had any ^^;

So need to get a JTB credit card first???

I was actually using a 7 year old laptop with no battery that was destroyed in the great soup tsunami of 2012 with very average internet. My other devices that do work got me nothing. I've never bought tickets for an event online before. I don't know how. O_o

Oh sorry. I mean the Japan Travel Bureau. :)

@SparkleSalad don't feel guilty! I am not giving up! If anything I might just go to Milan and think of Japan as a regular tour (where I'll be crying for the three days of NHK hah)

I'm trying to figure out if my smartphone can handle their electronic tickets and if I only need an address to input to sign up for the lottery, I'm pretty sure I can get an address... the question is, which tickets to try for...

Electronic tickets aren't an option if you don't have a Japanese phone number on your phone (you need to enter it to get the ticket)... and I can't figure out if they do have paper tickets or not...

I think you can put them in order of preference. That's what I requested from JTB and they didn't tell me I couldn't (though they're not the greatest at communicating, in my experience.)

If you can download apps from the Japanese App Store or Google play it might be okay but I think you need a Japanese mobile number to enter. I can't remember. I know paper tickets will be fine without a mobile. JTB just told me to se the address and number of the hotel I've booked. I'll try and find the page that explains the e-ticket software again later. I have a really bad headache from this battle. >_<

They definitely have paper tickets. :snpeace:e-tickets are an option for single day lottery but the only way to get 3 day pass (that's why it wasn't available for foreigners.)

I didn't read in detail, but I think it said you needed to enter the phone number to download...

But yes, it seems there are paper tickets. Paper tickets you actually need to go and have printed at a supermarket (711, lawson etc.), so address doesn't really matter there either... But currently that's crowded, too, so I can't see what info is required

Oh, FYI, my name is on the ticket I got but it's tiny at the top and "LastnameFirstname" all run together. It has a list of things like blah blah no drinks and no reselling but nothing about presenting ID. Just interested in the barcode being scanned easily.

ETA It also says to make sure you show your ticket with the barcode on top and you can easily cover the name to do that. It's kind of impossible not to if you hold it in your left hand.
