February 20, 20224 yr Yuzu, chances are slim but if you do read this - thank you so much for great SP, LP and gala performance! What you want to show via these programs are all well received. Just so proud of you! The olympic is over and please good care of yourself first! Take your time as you need. I put my summary thoughts under spoiler as it seems a bit long. Spoiler This roller coaster ride has been unique in its way and is v different from prior rides since I started 4 years ago after recognising this name Yuzuru Hanyu and Pooh rains from his PC victory. My diary for last few weeks captured different and evolving moods and thoughts as each day went by, but there are a few thoughts remain unchanged or get reinforced further after all. First, thank you Yuzu for being true to himself and firm on his decisions, which are again proved to be the right decisions after all, be it to attempt 4A or to stay and perform at gala. He still is the one saving lives after these 2 exhausting weeks. He still prioritises his country, supporters and his skates more than himself /his health. Such dilemmas , as no one want to see him suffering while everyone love him more as that is the Yuzuru Hanyu /Goat way of working. (And if one day he wants to be selfish to prioritise himself first, please and by all means!) Yuzu is like a king who understands the bitters of his ordinary people. His comments at press conference about his 4A challenge is no different from everyone’s struggles moved me a lot. Somehow I do believe each Fanyu is also having a yuzu inside, fighting against many big or small obstacles unfairness injustice in our own daily lives. Sometimes we withdraw, sometimes we back off a bit with a play-safe compromise, sometimes we fight when hardest hit... so then sometimes we succeed, sometimes failed, sometimes we got hurt but move on bearing the pains in blood, flesh and tears... I /we cheer for him and cheer for myself /ourselves I think Sadly the world is not always fair but filled with nonsense, bad lucks and ill thoughts/acts that we cannot control or avoid. While I am still digesting for years but a senior once explained this as - all trials and bad times as the processes for us to grow and reveal love, thus the best is yet to come if not now per God’s plan. Perhaps we need not be too upset with the universe for all those forced majeure happened in that week, as Yuzu has now gained so much love and grows further, especially seeing his words interpreting the situations, protecting his opponents and standing for himself... And the best thing to hear is that he is happy to be Yuzuru Hanyu and proud of what he has done and gone though including good or bad times. He has become even more matured and wise (was already over-matured in the last decade for his age, whether it was 17 or 23 then). While fans try to shed him lights and support him, he is still the one reflecting lights back and shine even brighter. Anyone who has still not yet recovered after HYK and his smiles these few days? It would have been a privilege if I had the chance to walk alongside with the wild young prince starting from junior or early adult stage on his way to the peak. (Quite jealous of those who fell into this rabbit hole early!) Yet I feel lucky and honored to be able and continue fighting with the matured wise caring king to reach higher peaks or dancing gracefully at rock-bottoms or the dark nights, or just doing picnics on some highland plains or forests happily with Poohs... February 20, 20224 yr Haru yo koi was breathtakingly beautiful The way Yuzu loves to skate, his passion and commitment, it always brings tears to my eyes. It is just so pure and authentic. There is really no one like him. No other skater can make me feel this emotional over watching their performance. I am so so so happy he got such tremendous support from Chinese fans and volunteers. He deserves it so much. And i am also happy that isu and jsf got to see how much loved he is not only in Japan. You cannot manufacture this with pr. This amount of support has to be earned. I felt quite sad this past week because i could not stop thinking about Yuzu's quote 'it was not enjoyable'. But after watching him practicing his old programs and performing in gala and having fun with some fellow skaters, i feel much better because it seems like his love for skating remains intact and he also managed to collect some good memories. Now please, please, heal that ankle and your body in general It has worked so hard, it deserves some big vacation. NHK uploaded Haru yo koi on their youtube channel, it has already over 1.6M views.
