Canada just extended the closure of the borders to the end of July. So if Yuzu is (as most of us believe) in Japan, it will be a while before he can go back to TCC.

I tend to think his programs are already chosen, and he is practising them in Sendai, under Zoom supervision by TCC coaches. After all, he has started reflecting on them short after Japan Nationals, even if at last he resorted to Ballade and Seimei.

But anyway, we will know nothing of them before his first competition, I think he has always done so? :ninja:

I find it possible if the Awards won't be a success, especially at Worlds where there will be lots of empty seats, they will realise it will be better idea to go back to gala. After all ISU needs money and they can get more of it if there is a gala and not some awards show. Galas attract more people, even some locals who aren't really into the sport.

The reactions I read about the Awards are either negative or neutral at best. I don't think many will watch it online and it will definitely not reach a wider audience imo. So if their aim is to make the sport more popular in the west, then I think they won't reach that goal.

I dunno what ISU aims with Awards. Galas sometimes attract more general audience, but one of the problems is expensive tickets for a 2-3 hours show, usually almost the same price as for the whole competitive day. General audience might even like more show part, like more show numbers or some retired skaters, but I think Awards part will be simply boring. Also I don't know how much ISU is interested in ticket sales or they're good with TV-rights and ticket sales is organizers headache.

Just how many candidates will be allowed into that room and where do you buy the tickets?

Hey, someone give the hint to the OC: I'm sure they'd be happy to host it!

:clapping-smiley:

ETA: Really, it should be the O(F)C -- the Olympic (Fanyu) Channel.

understandable, but :sigh:

if he's in Japan, no doubt he is able to make proper arrangements for ice time but I'd feel better knowing he had someone watching over him (well, besides mama Hanyu who probably is tasked with recording duties)

especially if at some point he wants to bring Nessie out to play again

As for choreo, he probably has already chosen music (after all, he had months to think about that :P ), but will he get choreo like with Masquerade on video? (not that I am complaining, it turned out quite well<3)

ngl, right now the chances of seeing Yuzu in September seems to be getting slimmer... (on the other hand, if he is in Japan, Jpn tv could actually organize some kind of media day, with smallish crew... gosh idk what to hope)

The idea of zoom media day doesn't sound half bad... :tumblr_inline_n18qrbDQJn1qid2nw:

unrelated but I've been updating the Glossary a bit and I'm trying to see if I can make the list more readable: could you tell me if you prefer the layout of the entries changed? like, do you prefer to have them coloured or should I just stick with default color?

How lovely!

I know that it's pound to a penny he is still in Japan, but there or Canada, you have to give the boy credit for superninja skills... one of the most famous faces in his country and they still haven't confirmed a glimpse....

I don't dare to use them, but I love to watch them (don't speak me of French rationality etc).

I understood somewhere he was already back there, after self-quarantine and before the Sendai Rink closure, so it must be back again.

What do you expect him to do, guys, when out of reach of Papa Brian's and Mama Tracy's permanent observation?

And even, it was announced for Montréal.

As for me, I prefer the default color.

He's not a skater who will get busted for breaking quarantine, that's for sure...

"14 day quarantine? Try 6 months" -- Yuzu during off-season, probably
