Part of a good thread that includes this ominous precedent on the result of a fan-inspired movement critiquing judging (with the caveat that there easily could be multiple causes): https://twitter.com/illogicalpins/status/1173504520686465024?s=20

Considering we don't fully know the internal politics of the ISU (people can speculate ofc, but humans are messy and simplistic conspiracy theories are often wrong), I'd really not race into anything.  This would take serious, mature thought and consultation across cultures.  I'm sure we don't want to make things worse for Yuzu or any other skaters.

Does it mean he'll recycle Origin until he got 4A? :war:

I'm sorry if this was already posted, but Yuzuru also said in this article that he wanted to perfect Origin even if he would take 3 or 4 years...(I don't know if I should laugh or cry )

Hi, everyone. Being his fan for a long time, I complained about his score openly on Twitter for the first time. Oops , wrong thread :P

:sadPooh: 3 or 4 years? I like the music but isn't 3/4 years abit... to much? I also said before that I find the choreography of Origin is too physically demanding, even for 4 quads! (though it's beautiful to watch, I am really worried when Yuzu has to compete with someone who skates around and jumps!)

Oh I see he doesn't care a bit about all the naysayers on recycling program...Good for him. Although I wonder if he is talking about perfecting the jump layout itself rather than necessary the exact program. Because even I can't imagine Origin repeated four years with all my love for it.

The way that's written - ' he is strongly convinced that the complete form of Origin is with 4A' - sounds a lot like Yuzu is an artist giving birth to a masterpiece, instead of an athlete. It reminds me of the famous quote from Michelangelo about setting the angel free from the block of marble.

I wonder if Yuzu thinks about it that way.

Subtle? There's nothing subtle about it! Whoever wrote that knows nothing about journalistic objectivity. They even drag Nathan Chen's name into the bloody title!!!

If this is in reaction to my earlier post re fans displaying a board with 6's on or +5 GOE can I just reiterate that that post was put up in jest and never meant to be taken seriously.  I think we have to be very careful re the marking system and agree with your sentiments above.

You have to see it this way: NBC at least mentioned that Yuzuru has won the Autumn Classic.

On ISU's official Twitter account you can only find tweets about the Junior GPs now. NOTHING ELSE.

They retweeted Skate Canada, that all ACI practices will be streamed live and that's it. Not a single word about the medalists, the competition or anything. Lombardia Trophy 2019 is literally non-existing on @ISU_figure.

I unfollowed the ISU account today. They don't even dare to mention Yuzu anymore, probably in fear of the shitstorm. To make it less obvious, they ereased senior skating completely from their tweets.

EDIT: I don't want to defend that nasty NBC article, though. The way they are downplaying Yuzu's recent performances is... well. No comment. My only question is: Has anyone even considered that with this extreme push they put totally unnecessary pressure on Nathan himself?
