Not sure if it's been said but @yude at GS mentioned that in today's evening NHK news at 10 there was an extra tidbit of the Yuzu interview where he says his ankle was already getting better today than the past two days. Step forward in the healing process.

Great, and since it's been 3 days already, he only has another week of rest before he can start the next step. It won't take that long... just a blip in time, if you think positively!

that's good news but he better still sit out those full 10 days and not go "oh I guess I'm all better then" and make it worse :crazyshit2:

I think they might need to strap him down to a chair from time to time... but who better than his family can do that!

They'd be like: do you want to win GOLD at PYEONGCHANG Yuzu???
Yuzu: YESSSSS :war:
Them: then SIT THE HECK DOWN AND REST.

I heard nessie's name.. :peekapooh:

Yes! One of the rare worlds I can recognize in Japanese.

Had it already become an expression to describe something incredibly difficult or an equivalent for "when pigs fly"? I'm joking.

get 0.1 GOE on 3A then... (clean all other jumps)

You know, then not only fan will riot... hope Nessie won't actually rise then...

Maybe just end up doubling second part of 4-3 combo or something like that???

From the talk it's basically the skill so epic that only King of Ice can do it.

They then progress to say name of that king xD

i guess it's the prestige of having a very rich skating fed behind you and investing their resources on you...

At least Japanese media’s report that he was in high spirit and even joking lifted our spirits yesterday

I feel like that is what happened in the interview video. The high spirit and joke...We can tell he was sad :sadPooh:

My guess is stay home for about a week (or two)for the ordered absolute rest and then go to Toronto to start the rehab etc.. He had treatment for his foot in Toronto, so I imagine he's found someone there who he can trust to help him with that.

Back to the accents: how much of an accent do people think Tracy Wilson has? is it very Canadian? or more neutral? Brian is more Canadian.

Tracy's accent is very obviously Canadian to me, though I have always been more senstive to accents than your average Joe. In fact, listening to her commentating all those years ago was when I realized that American stations don't hire strictly Americans to do commentary. What's interesting though is when I'm in Canada, nobody assumes I am American even though my pronunciation is very American. As you said, Canadians say "sorry" more like "sore-ey" and "about" vs. "aboot" remains the usual running gag.  But when I was in Vancouver I also noticed they'd pronounce "pasta" like "past-uh" while I say it more like "pah-stuh".  I didn't speak any differently as I do at home, and yet nobody assumed.  In fact, when I was in Helsinki I watched the ladies free at the hotel with Jason's Brown's parents initially, but they left and then I was watching with a Canadian coach.  He assumed I was Canadian.  I guess one difference is I'm not automatically insulted if someone assumes I'm Canadian, as it would be the other way around. :P Of course not every Canadian says these words this way.

But also in Canadian commentary they don't pronounce skaters names like we do. We say Hanyu closer to the intended pronunciation unlike the Canadians who say his name like "hand-yu", and it drives me nuts, lol.  Tracy says Yuzu's name the right way now but I feel like there was a time when she too would say "hand-yu". Also, I don't detect a Canadian accent from Yuzu. It's just Japanese-accented English to me. Much like Javi's English is Spanish-accented English.

My friends tell me my accent is neutral and reminds them of someone that's a news reporter. I dunno, I'm speaking here around 29 seconds

When I'm in NY or Boston, I'm told I sound more southern, and when I'm in the south I'm told I sound northern. As a Washingtonian I'm right in the middle along the coast so that's not too surprising, but Bostonians and New Yorkers tend to have their own very distinct accents.  In fact, there are many places in the US with distinct accents. We don't all say "water" the same way, or "roof" the same way.  Even "root" can sound different.
