rockstaryuzu
Jun doing his best to train in Korea https://twitter.com/GeumNa/status/1328689018469371909?s=20 i need COVID to end soon, please. The deaths are bad enough but all the smaller collateral tragedies, like what's happening with skating, are just as painful.

Paskud
Quote The Korea Ice Skating Federation will hold domestic ranking and general championships in the near future to select representative athletes to compete in the world championships. The Korea Ice Skating Federation was unable to hold an ice rink due to the recent spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) and the closure of the ice rink due to the 2.5 step adjustment of social distancing. For this reason, the federation gave up participation in the world championships in speed skating and short track. However, the story of participation in the World Figure Skating Championships is different. This is because Olympic qualifications are not required for speed skating and short track world championships, but each country has Olympic qualifications for the figure skating world championships. An official said, "In order to select the national representative, the social distancing stage (in the metropolitan area) must be lowered to two stages." https://www.hankyung.com/sports/amp/202101309651Y

Melodie
It seems that the restrictions will remain at least until after the Lunar New Year, which will be from Feb 12 - 14 this year, so then, KSU will have roughly two weeks to hold all the competitions they have to hold, won't they? KSU will be in trouble if they insist on the current selection criteria, esp. if the current social distancing level is not changed when the holiday is over. rockstaryuzu
Jun's SP is up in the thread that @barbara posted, above. Other skaters too but i only had time to watch Jun this morning. He's skating very well but you can still tell that he really needs to get back to his coaches for some tuning up of jumps, etc . Can't believe we haven't seen him skate in a year and two weeks. Miss him so much.

I am pleased that he hasn't really lost any skills, but he seemed a bit sluggish (maybe the quiet?). God, I hope he gets back to TCC by summer.
