Maybe you were just tired out by the splatfest that preceded him? I was hardly keeping my head up as Boyang was skating... I clapped a lot for Nathan, he kept his nerves above all others! Completely empty program though.

I honestly hope a voice above all others will rise to fight this "secession" of artistry and technique (sport), which is what makes fs so special and different from other sports. I wonder if Yuzuru will ever voice his opinion (which is pretty clear) about this once he is free from the constraints of competition... I am so ashamed that there are so many Italian ISU officials who are *censoring myself*

I guess it will be totally coincidental that when Yuzuru will eventually retire, FS will die as a sport and I guess I won't be the only one losing part of my interest and, say, stop spending money on competitions and tickets and get on with my life... although it's pretty sad to think that Yuzuru's type of skating, and those who are looking up to him and trying to become as complete as him, won't go on for long because it does not play for the advantage of... who exactly? Why is ISU like this?

Interesting discussion. It has made me relook at most of this artist' recent drawings to try and pinpoint their skills or lack thereof. I think they constantly show a desire to make a character recognizable through the use of few, marked features instead or pursuing realism. The good thing about this is that it comes across as a fresh, comical style. Also, facial expressions are highlighted to show the personality of the character. The bad thing that might happen is that some facial traits (ex: eyes) might be overly simplified to some, ethnical traits included. Thus the "misunderstanding".

I can tell. Drawing skills aren't as simple as 'the more realistic you draw, the better'. I'd say it's a bit going too far saying that an artist is mediocre because you don't like their style. c:

I might have already gotten my conservatory diploma had that conversation happened.

I am so jealous. I wish Yuzuru would have come to my school and chatted amiably with me. Although, when I was in elementary/middle school, he was still at school as well. Also I was already a competitive beast, not really much he could have told me to further motivate me LOL.

Poll: Yuzu's new ultra low Hydroblade - Did he kiss the ice?

Looks to me like he barely graced the surface, but he did make the motion and the intention was there. I say yes!

Haven't you heard? Corridor PCS judging is now a thing approved by ISU xD So he should also get all the 9's on SS and TR (according to some)

Since I entered the FS and Hanyu fandom late, today I decided to try and get informed and searched on GS information regarding Japan Nationals 2013, and the antis hate I hear a lot - but seldom encounter myself. Let's just say it took me little time to find it and I wish I didn't. Ew. People are ew.
-
This is also true. I'm also very curious of watching him skate, but considering that he's only aiming for regionals and Nationals, I'm not even sure I'll be able (or I'll remember) to follow him? xD I wonder how Nationals will go though... if he comes back... and Yuzuru comes back after 2 years... and Shoma against them, holding the title for the last 2 years... uh... bye.
-
:c I didn't mention it, but these are exactly my fears. That's why I'm not so excited. But times are different. Yuzuru has a stronger fanbase now, I believe it won't be the same.

I'm one of those who aren't overly rejoying but just... shocked I'd say. Also, I believe Kazuki Tomono can already go head to head with Daisuke without problems. He's got character, skating skills and tech content. For Daisuke, we'll see.

It seems like these days I cannot even with him anymore

2018/19 GP Assignments

Your post count! It's both beautiful and every Japanese on here is probably crossing fingers for the 4 curse. Four Fours. Btw, regarding Hotels and B&B... I'm not sure why all you people insist on paying for a place to sleep. Both in Helsinki for Worlds and Milano 2018 I've used coachsurfing and I haven't paid a dime. Hosts in every part of the world are ready to host you and cook meals for you and ask only interaction in exchange. I know that it can be a source of anxiety for some, but imo an empty wallet gives me more anxiety LOL. (Besides, what about starting a couchsurf between us fs fans? It would be amazing! I am ready to host anyone next time there will be an event in Rome... which is... never probably ) -
TCC has spread its coaches before, right? I know they have a lot of skaters, but maybe one coach can dedicate themselves to one skater for a bit - or maybe yeah, like you said, Yuzuru can train alone. I think the situation would be different from 2014-2015 season.

2018/19 GP Assignments

Plus, isn't two weeks, like, a lot for him? He recovered two quads while injured in the span of 2 weeks and won the Olympics with that preparation. If he messes something up in his first GP, he has fresh kuyashii to fuel him for the whole period before the other GP, hopefully no travelling in between, just hard focused training (but not too hard). In the end, they are both in November, and that's the great thing - no early GP. -
Yes, but that's a normal reaction to a flight sometimes. You don't need to be super-fragile - although I guess Yuzuru kinda is. I've been deadest of the dead after long flights as well, and got fever during both of my longass trips (to be fair, in both cases I probably tired myself as much as Olympic athletes if not more LOL). If you fly to the place 1-2 weeks prior to the competition, you have more time to recover from eventual immune system crashes, weakness, fatigue and so on. That's what Shoma does and I've always thought it's a good decision.

I wonder if Yuzuru can stay in Europe during those two weeks in between his GP events. I would be very glad if he managed to get a rink for himself. I've always thought jet lag threatens to play a huge role in an athlete's condition, and NHK's incident last year kinda confirmed it for me.

Jealous. I wish I had that dedication (and that ear. Too hard for me) :c It's beautiful though. NOW GIVE ME THE SHEET

I say adopt him! JSF doesn't really care that much for him anyways.
