Proposed changes for next season
Murieleirum replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
Hey, Yuzu's costume choice has always been on point as far as I'm concerned! The only slightly off one was zingerstrawberry, but he did look nice in it at Ciontu so... At least he's original! But not too original (Yellow Turandot coff coff). Is the all-black costume... balletic? -
Are they trying to be subtle? It's not working at all

Proposed changes for next season

Probably going for stabilizing 4Lo and 4S, because they can give him more points in the end - his 3A cannot have such a high goe, but 4Lo and 4S, even with lots of preparation and not perfect landings, can have +2 easily -
Proposed changes for next season

I am having trouble imagining Yuzuru following strictly these rules changes, and not doing whatever the heck he wants to do. I think he just might present the programs in September having, like, difficult steps immediately preceding all of the elements and all of the jumps. Out of spite. I am also having trouble imagining him abandoning the idea of having two quads in the second half. Or two quad combinations. But who knows. Maybe he will change the direction of his new ambitions regarding perfecting programs, depending on the new rules. -

I'm willing to become his shogi, his saburai, his zusa, I will attempt a coup for him, I will do everything to take Bianchetti out! (I don't think it's gonna happen, sadly. I haven't heard news from Max lately. Is he on vacation maybe?) -

Should I warn Max? Are we still in time to bring a riot over, remove them from command and institute our own shogun? Uhm, I meant, ISU staff administrator? -
Shouldn't we be focusing on him regaining his elegant lady 4loop and mesmerizing lady 4lz first?? XD

Moment of emotion. Tomorrow I have my Asian history exam and after spending +12 hours on books plus work time, I felt inspired and after studying the rise of the Warrior social class in feudal Japan I rewatched Yuzuru's Seimei at the Olympics. It was perfect from start to finish. For me, his mistakes there were part of the performance, part of the fight... it moved me like it did the first time I saw it, maybe even more. The thing he did... the things he accomplished... he really went beyond the ideal, not only his, but everyone's ideal. That performance was everything I tell you.

It's easy to misinterpret everything. I still sometimes don't get why a lot of you take interpretation of facts and interactions we don't know anything about so seriously! Orser and Yuzu have a close relationship for years, and they learned how to communicate with each other. Orser is still the main coach in TCC, so he takes the decisions and the skaters never really had decisional power, although their feelings and opinions are taken into consideration, to preserve a healthy environment. But most of all, I don't think Yuzuru is the kind of person that would have any kind of problem, external or internal, with this sort of matter. He thrives off of challenges, he loves obstacles he can try to overcome, and I think Brain knows this. So, be calm! Everything's gonna be okay. Next season is gonna be amazing.

Although, now that I think about it, Yuzuru hasn't won Nationals since 2015. He might want the title back. If you ask me, he's already put his mind to it c:

I am LOVING the sound of this! And I am so HAPPY for Boyang! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

Yes, as variation for upright spin, right? Usually he does biellmann as hard variation for upright though, right? I guess, IF he drops he Biellmann, he would logically do that instead. But I'm not so sure he is dropping it. His back shows no problems whatsoever, thank the Gods. He will still be flexible as a noodle at 50, probably.

You are making me crave it and I don't even know anything about her choreographing abilities! Will you link something to this poor ignorant fs newbie? c: -
You are correct. There were different conflicts inside him, understandably so, that led him to questioning whether to continue skating or not. Risking your life and not only that, your whole country and family, definitely makes you question everything and is so much to elaborate for a 16 years old. Explaining it is difficult, but it was definitely not only for the lack of a practice rink that he had doubts about continuing his athletic carreer.

I think Yuzuru also stands against bullying and always sends messages to be yourself. He only does it in different style than Adam. I'd say, in a more subtle, less flashy way

I feel really close to Yuzuru's musicality. Of course, you can't remember your first years of childhood, no kid remembers them and you don't really know when 'musicality' begins. In my opinion, no one is born with something like that - you are born with your own identity, your personal energy, and then your environment and the conditions of your life push you into a certain direction. Mozart didn't decide to become a composer by himself - he grew up listening to his genius sister and violinist father playing and studying every day, his father put him in front of an instrument as soon as he could - couple that with an incredible sensitivity developed for some reason within Mozart's heart, and you have the recipe for genius. But for me, genius comes from sensitivity, and it is logical that it's the brightest in children: children don't limit their feelings, their imagination, their creativity, so they can appreciate music as pure as it comes. Most great musicians were all child prodigies, not because they were born with a different gene or anything, but because you only need that sensitivity to feel the music as it comes. And the more you develop that sensitivity and hang on to it as an adult, well... you can become a great artist. I'm gonna talk about myself under spoiler because.

Honestly, my personal interpretation of it is that firstly, Brian knows Yuzuru way better than all of us, or even media. So if he highlights those things, there is a reason for it. My conclusion is: Yuzuru focuses only on skating, and when he isn't skating, he spends time home with the part of his family that stays with him, which is his mother. Aside from facts, every single one of us is going to have a different opinion regarding that. As far as I'm concerned, if Yuzuru needs this kind of privacy and 'introversion' to maintain his head in the game, he is welcome to do so, because his genius and personality really explode on ice. When he'll go pro, he will have plenty of time to build up indipendence, a more dynamic social life, and so on. And those will be his private life matters, so I guess they shouldn't matter so much to us.

Guess the New Programs! (and win nothing if you do)

They were talking about... how much they absolutely venerate one another? (lol) And gosh, Plushenko sure talks a lot! I love to listen to him speaking. I mean, I love Russian in general. In any case, since I never stated my opinion on this argument, but I think it's pretty interesting and pretty important, I'll just say this from my part: it will surprise me, in a negative way, if in the future no Japanese media or no media at all will politely ask Yuzuru to clarify what he meant during his closing speech at Ciontu. If I were a journalist, I would definitely want to hear him talk about that as much as he feels comfortable, which also depends on day, mood, period in Yuzuru's life, and so on. Depending on the person, sharing hurtful moments with a small or a big group of people can help you elaborate the tough times. For example, Tonya's book and resulting movie out of her story has surely empowered her, from the few interviews I've seen on the internet. Of course, if the media will ask eventually, and Yuzuru will refuse to reply because he won't feel in the mood of further disclosing, then that will be it. He has every right to share what he wants and keep to himself all the rest. Considering that everything he says can be used against him by trolls and he knows it damn well. But considering this, already the fact that he's spoken so openly about his own feelings and fears is a sign of extreme courage and strenght. This is also what I'd like the media to aknowledge.
