  1. So much embarassment, poor Yuzu. Nobu is really... noisy xD (I love him tho)
  2. If it's Helsinki, will Yuzu want to go there? It's his lucky city btw I'm super ready for the announcements - pls come
  3. I think she meant both - meaning, he looks androgynous and it's an image that's hard to sexualize - ergo, asexual vibe. Even though I showed her LGC multiple times... weird.
  4. Bread and cheese is the Mediterrenean way to go. I wonder if Yuzu ever tried this lifestyle before... Asian people and cheese are somewhat incompatible most of the time. Anyway yes, I am enjoying the cheese conversation because I, too, am spending way too much time thinking about the assignments. Honestly, if Yuzuru gets neither Grenoble nor any other European GP, my hair will thank me. Will we know tomorrow if Korea accepts the GP or not, right? Talk about last minute decisions.
  5. Oh I get it. The other day I made my mother and some of my friends watch Haru yo, koi and my mother said "He is the most asexual guy I have ever seen", but that is an extremely superficial judgement. It is because we are used to connect clothes and certain behaviors and movements to 'masculine' and 'feminine' identities, when actually sexuality has nothing to do with those things (I'm not talking about sexual orientation, I'm not interested in discussing those things). To me, Yuzuru has a very strong sexual identity - what you call 'alpha predator'. He is very comfortable in his body and it shows. His movements and interpretational choices are strictly connected to his self-sense, body and mind are one. That is why he is able to skate to something delicate, soft, yin, (dare I say feminine?), yet he doesn't come off as asexual if you look closely, he comes off as strong as he does when he skates to Seimei - because he never loses that sense of self, that identity, that yang side of him. Delicate arguments, I hope no one misreads my words. But personally this is Yuzuru's characteristic which I think makes him win over a lot of other skaters. His sense of self, his masculinity which is internal, not external, he doesn't need to show it off, highlight it, nor hide it, or suffocate it. He's a natural.
  6. Uhm? How is that a bad thing? Can you imagine the eros? I won't even complain about the musical side of it being total crap, I mean! (jokes aside, I have faith in Yuzuru's taste in music. Forget Justin Bieber. That was a weird parenthesis of his skating life).
  7. He is fitspo, probably even more than most athletes. Some sports force you to develop more muscles than others, make you look too muscly and bumpy, or too big, or too thin in case of some girls. But he is tall, thin, muscly, strong, he is literally so perfect holy shit I'm in love with his body *Ed Sheeran's voice*
  8. Yes, I don't like the music with the vocal version actually c: I think the 'voice' doesn't sing as softly as the piano, at least, not to my ears. Also, after this, we can officially say that Yuzu is a sucker for the piano. Really, he cannot go one season without having at least one program piano-focused, can he? The thing I like about Shinya's arrangement is the unpredictability. The melody is always the same (like you said - sort of like a Bolero, a melody that gets repeated with different "colors" every time, but here instead of being exchanged between different instruments, everything is "in the hands of the pianist" quite literally), but the ability with which he (and Yuzuru) give color, dynamic, tone, mood, to each phrase is really what makes the program a masterpiece imo. You find this a lot in music with Chaccones, for examples - same harmony, different variations, and each variation has a different color to it, so actually the piece doesn't result boring. Haru yo, koi's unpredictability lies in harmony too - you can't predict whether the phrase will finish in major or minor, whether the piano will "get mad" and a low note will be stricken with force before a stormy arpeggio through the whole piano, or it will close the phrase with a whispered note - of course, Yuzuru has to feel these changes in his body, and move accordingly.
  9. I said 'probably Japanese' too so I guess I probably win something?
  10. the piano arrangement really is made perfectly. Very virtuous but delicate, doesn't sound "hard" but it's so complicated. Exactly like Yuzuru's skating.
  11. How are all of his program choices so perfect and meaningful? How does all of it make so much sense in my mind? I am having a day high on Yuzurite feels. Excuse me.
  12. That... might be hard. Shall I give one of you my phone number, so that you can call me when they go out and if I am working, I'll just... run away?
  13. Problem is, I am not in the condition where I can just 'waste' 50 euros if he ends up not going So I am going to wait just a bit more days! You said four days until the GP announcement, right? Plane costs will stay as low as they are now in 4 days, fingers crossed - and as for the tickets, I am okay with taking not-gold tickets or average tickets... mmmh but maybe you are saying that seconds after it will be announced that Yuzuru will go to idf, Japanese people will rape the idf tickets and none will be left? Well, I'll just have to take my chances then, and go to war with Japanese aunties
  14. Let's not talk about my Milano experience... I have traumas xD No, jokes aside, if your volunteering job allows you to, you can watch the competitions in the Arena, either standing behind the seats or sitting down in a section reserved to volunteers (but in Milano's case, this section was in the balcony far up - so I used to sneak around in the B sections, which were closer, and watch the competition from there). For example, my job was VIP service so I had to stay in the VIP lounges and the VIP information desk. They put me at the desk for the whole duration of the Men's Free, which was exactly the only event I asked to be able to watch. So what happened was that during the last group, I asked every other volunteer to cover my ass, and I sneaked in the arena and watched the boys fall on their butts until Nathan came and saved the day. Btw, thinking about it a second time, I think I'm happy if Yuzuru DOESN'T come to Milan... I'd rather get a ticket for IdF and watch him like normal audience I hope IdF tickets aren't too expensive, tbh. Does anyone know if skating events in France are pricey? In Italy yes they are. (EDIT: sorry don't answer me, I'll just go ask in the IdF thread xD)
  15. Nope! You can be a volunteer without any particular abilities. There's all sorts of volunteering activities. They need help with transportation, security, customers, arena management, press management, general staff, really there is a loooot of work going into these events. Languages are a good skill to have. You don't have to know how to skate c: You just have to be very willing to work like a slave from 5 am to 1 am every day for a week! I've never had such a busy summer...
  16. I will... definitely end up sending application to be a volunteer if he comes to Milano, I can't... even imagine. I used to see each and every skater up close during Milano Worlds. I literally crossed paths with everyone, got a photo with four of them, made Shoma laugh, got a wink from Kolyada, chatted amiably with Stephane and Deniss... if... Yuzu comes to Milano... I can die basically thx
  17. So what are the chances of Yuzuru going to either IdF or Milano CoC? Can I die already? Edit: sorry for the doublepost
  18. I do believe that Yuzuru has the power to adapt any kind of very musical and artistical program in a competitive program though. I believe it's one of his biggest strenghts. Look at PW, look at Chopin or LGC. Especially in the Short Programs, Yuzuru has the absolute talent to highlight each and every musical note and climax through his body movements, hand movements and steps and spins, and also through spins and jumps. What I think would not work with Haru yo koi becoming a LP is the musical structure. It's too repetitive, too lyrically auto-fulfilling (I don't know how to explain it), there are no highs and lows and dramatic moments and energetic moments to insert within a LP. Hope and Legacy worked because it was two pieces of music, wisely put together to give nice dynamics, change of tempos and so on. So, in the end, Haru yo koi might be adaptable for a Short Program more than a Long Program, but I don't think it will be. I think it will stay an EX, and for the whole year, at best. If not, it will forever stay a skating gem in my heart. It's a continuously evolving masterpiece!
  19. I don't really agree. Quads and required elements didn't ruin H&L at all I am not convinced Haru yo Koi will be his new FS though. But, if he has a similar, lyrical, soft FS, I'm all for it!!
  20. If Tarakanova has that illness, I doubt changing coach will do miracles for her. Usually those things come from families, NOT coaches. But whatever the situation we don't know behind the scenes is, I hope she will be okay eventually.
  21. I'm in love with exactly the version that Shinya and Yuzuru built - together, or maybe just Shinya. It's exquisite, I love the emotional, quick and passionate scales and arpeggios he put in between one phrase and another, and he should definitely, definitely record it. (And maybe give me the piano sheets, although they might not even exist yet)
