He is definitely fitspo for me as I've decided to do flexibility training since I've discovered him - especially being able to do the Biellmann position on land has been a lot of fun! Now, if only I could save up some money to start skating lessons...

I will always be pretty convinced that pcs inflation started before Yuzuru's rise (with Chan), but continued because of Yuzuru, because the gap between his kind of skating and all the others was so big, the ISU alltogether decided not to aknowledge it and pretend (for example) that TR don't exist, and so on. Because the sport isn't fun if you cannot control who's at the top, right?

But that's what I'm saying. Yuzuru's jumps have always been rewarded, even if not as much as we would like. This is why he's been able to win everything he won. Because he did get the high GOE's, because he delivered. Even if getting high GOE's becomes harder, if there is someone who will get those +5's, it's him. I have absolutely no doubt about that. See judges adjusting to the new system for the first competitions - but after december, I am sure 5's will start popping up and guess which skater is gonna get them. I don't think judges are going to suddently see Yuzuru's jumps as low quality and I don't think they've been holding him down as much as some of you people make it seem! I do believe that he should have won 4CC 2017 and Rostelocom 2018 instead of Nathan, and he didn't win because of crappy judging, but that was mostly because of no gap in PCS - Yuzuru was held back and Nathan was overscored. Ultimately, it depends on Yuzuru and the judges both. You cannot say it only depends on the judges. Because yes, they can do whatever they want, they are often unfair and blind - but not everyone, and usually most keep themselves in the limits of decency. So, if Yuzuru delivers, he will still get rewarded.

Which means the difference between Yuzuru's skating and everyone else's skating will also increase visibly. Unless some youngsters (looking at you, Boyang) decide to take the harder route and work on their SS and Transitions, which would allow them both to stack up GOE points and decrease the duration of their jump preparations. Shoma is not so badly put in terms of Transitions (he has a nice 4T3T entrance) and preparation time (his 3A is solid). His programs might also feel less empty than Boyang's or Chen's. But his jump's GOE's shouldn't increase at all, since he's lacking, per se, two of the GOE bullets (very good height/lenght, good landing position).

I'm definitely going to Stockholm in 2021... if Yuzu is competing. Although Worlds without him this year was still enjoyable... we'll see. Cannot lose the occation of such a close city.

I've done a quick search and neither the whole Requiem neither Lacrimosa have been used a lot, which is a surprise, really! To me it perfectly suits a figure skating performance - yes, classical music is hard to interpret, but that's why we are keeping it for the best Well, if it's a duet, then I call in Pairs! And yes to the parallel with their characters. To me, Yuzuru is no less a genius than Mozart. So it becomes clear that every genius has a strong troll side which is hard to contain LOL.

There are three more months until September - he has plenty of time to finish off this strange rehabilitation that has him already able to land 4 Toeloop - but still tentative on Loop Lutz and Flip... And the thing he keeps saying about improving his jumps, I think it's his way of saying he wants to get better at 4Loop (integrate it back) and 4Lutz. Together with wanting to do the 4Axel, those are the only kind of obvious 'improvements' he needs to make. This depends exclusively on rehab, but I am pretty curious about the training and the type of work that will follow rehab. Going back to the ice will be a totally different Yuzuru Hanyu. He will train with different feelings inside his heart - probably lighter feelings, but burning as much as before, if not more. Aaaaaah I can't wait. I seriously cannot wait.
