  1. All the great Japanese men singles won 4CC except him I'm crying
  2. I am sorry, but you sound like you know more about training quads and figure skating than those coaches and those athletes who are dedicating their daily life, their sweat and their future to it. Eteri and the other coaches have given their life to FS and they have no reputation of 'breaking' little girls, look at Evgenia, or Tsurskaya, they may have left Sambo but for reasons that had nothing to do with physical training. I have a rule which is not assuming I know more about a thing than someone who dedicates way more time and effort to that thing than me. But everyone is free to have doubts and be skeptical - it's just, sometimes it's borderline offensive to the girls and athletes who are working so hard to do the best they can do, and their results get minimized. Not saying that this was your case. But I've read a lot, even in the Italian facebook group, and actually, discussions on these topics were the reason Mr. Ambesi left the group and won't comment anymore among us fans. Luckily we're all pretty polite here and we just agree to disagree if it comes to that point.
  3. Both, because they both made history, Kostner is the 'oldest' lady in the field and still skates to the highest level, Trusova landed the first quadruple Toeloop and Salchow just at 13 years old. You should think that the same thing that you are saying now for the quadruples and the juniors, people used to say about the triples. Sport evolution is always scary. But it's dangerous only when it's done with bad technique and unsupervised. Same as with triples or doubles, or spins, or everything skating. I know everyone is free to have their own opinions, but it's really just always the same type of worries with quadruples and juniors and 'they won't last a year' and 'the coaches shouldn't make them'. If Trusova has fun training quadruples together with everything else, if she is healthy doing what she loves, if her determination to win and push the sport forward makes her do this, what exactly is ruining the sport here? I remember that Yuzuru fell badly attempting a 2A or a 3A when he was Trusova's age I think, and he hit his head. All figure skating jumps are dangerous. There is nothing different between Yuzuru then and now, and these wonderful ladies who push themselves because they love skating. Lastly, I would like for you to read a snippet of Trusova's interview from some months ago, that someone in the Italian skating fb group translated from Russian:
  4. I am 100% sure he already does this when he is alone, highlighters and all that!
  5. Ah! I miss 4Loop! I miss Yuzuru's skating! Watching the Juniors all day is wonderful, but I'm going in abstinence of the Swan's beautiful skating...
  6. I know! It was too perfect! It's like he's not secretly training Nessie... or yet, he still wasn't training it while filming 24HTv...
  7. *scrutinizing Notte Stellata's 3A to see if anything feels off*
  8. I am so relieved that my vacation is almost over and we still don't know anything about the programs lol
  9. I love it! I am sure that all these genius tags will put him in a good mood if he happens to read them
  10. Some of the posts on Twitter are fucking brilliant! I'm dying I wanna do it too!
  11. actually it's not just the waistline, it's the ratio waistline-shoulders-hips that's really impressive. I have a tiny waistline, but I also have tiny shoulders so meh. He really looks like a supermodel.
  12. He manages to be both girl fitspo and male fitspo. I have no idea how.
  13. He obviously isn't skilled at finding the positive backsides of a situation.
  14. Ah, I didn't get the part where it was filmed in between ice shows! And no I wasn't referring to 24H, I was referring to the charity skating he did where he skated to Hana ni Nare and did some children skating lessons!
  15. Yeah programs aren't meant to be complete in August. I really don't understand all the rain of criticism but whatever! The only thing I'm sure of is that Shoma's IN will stay the same for his SP and FS - I know him too well by now to hope for otherwise. Even Yuzuru told it in the best of fashion: I admire him for his constance and congruence in his style. That is a very nice and very Japanese way to say that Shoma's style has evolved little in his carreer and who knows if it ever will. (Of course, I say that - I don't think Yuzuru allows himself to think these things about other skaters).
  16. Whatever programs he does at 24H, I will take a closer loot at his jump's condition and layout. Last year in a summer event (the one in the ice rink he skated to right after the Tohoku Earthquake, I don't remember the name of the city...) he did a 4T with the same entrance he did in Chopin. He already has his programs done, so I am 80% sure we will se some traces of the new programs there. Or maybe we won't need to search for clues there because in the meantime we will have already discovered programs and layout?? Oh, but the layout announcement last year was just a trolling scheme and totally hid from us the fact that he was bringing 4Lz to the yard... *head explodes*
  17. So no media day news but 24H news and excessively flat hair discourse. Yes Planet, you never disappoint. I reaaally hope news for media day come out before tuesday! I will have little to no internet access for the next two weeks
  18. You're not holding your breath but you are hoarding alcohol, are you
  19. Well, the only possibility that Dai could deserve higher PCS than Yuzuru this time around... is if Dai were Yuzuru. I mean, justify giving higher PCS to a skater that's been away from competitions for 4 years than a two consecutive times Olympic champion... well... try.
  20. Fun fact 3: Yuzuru is the only one among top 6 men whose scores, more than one time (several times, actually) were lower than what Max Ambesi expected. I've listened to their every commentary, for other male skaters too, and they always guessed the scores for Nathan, Boyang, Shoma, Javier, Patrick right, and I never once heard "I expected more" in their commentary of these skater's performances. Before the Sochi medal and even after Sochi medal, Yuzuru's PCS were sometimes in the 70'ies, or early 80's. How many months did it take for Nathan to go over those numbers?
