Sorry, it seems once again I didn't express what I meant. I was speaking specifically of videos which where put online during this drought, and particularly this month. I fear many fanyus are just expecting such videos, yet unaware of their existence. (And thank you again for this site, which allows me to know them.) (And I don't know about this great purge of '18-'19)

Pooh-san may have told him afterwards, that apis mellifera was the most interesting of all bees, and that wasps were not interesting at all.

Well, I really loved his idea for May 6th communication and this discussion made me go back to page 5671 of this thread to watch again the videos (though there are also on Youtube, some side-by-side with on-ice programs). Of course I am anxiously awaiting his come back to competition, or anything he should like to send us, but I don't find us as fans, to be left behind, or forgotten, or neglected in any way. It is just that we are into a severe general drought because of the Covid-crisis. By the way, I know he has millions fans, yet less than 600.000 saw these videos, around 100.000 only saw 2017 LGC and H&L on ISU channel, I am sure millions others didn't even access these oasis, and are lost somewhere in the desert. Sad.

Gailhaguet was just asking for "a little decency", hm? Now he is suing the French Sports minister for having forced him to resign, and demands 300.000€... https://www.lequipe.fr/Patinage-artistique/Actualites/Didier-gailhaguet-reclame-une-indemnisation-pour-prejudice/1137704 That man must not know what the word shame means.

Congratulate skaters with their Birthdays

By the way, do you know if she could resume on-ice training? -

Oh no, I don't want to jeopardise anybody. I am convinced there is way to secure their safety in such a competition. I was relieved Skate Canada cancelled Worlds because they had not even tried to implement a safety policy, but upset by the fact they had not done so. Even launched stupid ideas (Awards and, worst of all, that crowd bath for athletes) during the explosion phase of the epidemic, instead. And I don't know what they have done to this date. I am afraid, very little. But they may start now, isn't it? The advantage of a Junior trophy is not directly that the athletes are Junior, it is that this is a real international trophy and at the same time, wouldn't attract the same crowds as better known competitions. Plus, I think there is only one rink involved? This is why it is a perfect test. Should I be a Junior athlete, therefore fearing any lung damage (such as even an asymptomatic infection can give), or a coach, I would check attentively all safety policies (travel, accommodation, practice and competition) and, if they are correct, go enthusiastically.

I suppose he referred to The young Maid with a Pearl, maybe Vermeer's best known painting. I noticed that on this cover photo, his sports jacket looked somehow like a men's kimono. At first sight even, I tought "Oh! He also wears informal kimonos?" And I did receive Satomi Ito's book in a few days, but I had chosen DHL delivery and live in Germany. Later some borders were closed, but they reopened since (for mail and packets, I mean).

Oh yes. I may be seen as naive here, but this Covid-crisis at last opened my eyes upon a racism, at least in France, against Asians, which until now I believed to be limited to some "outlaw zones". At least a strong bias. I discovered that I was lucky to love (Jap')anime that much since childhood, to have had the occasion to read "La Chine en Construction" in the 80s, I knew it was propaganda but it opened so broad horizons (and the official editor was the legendary Soong-Ching-ling, widow of Sun-Yat-sen and daughter of Charlie Soong, who appeared in Hugo Pratt's Corto Maltese adventures). (And media and government try to push in this direction of racism, to please Big Pharma. But here we are entering politics, I fear.) Of course there should be a mask policy for the attendance, I understand it may be a problem? But cannot it be considered in the reverse, that a figure skating Junior trophy may be the best, most innocuous test, because attendants are more likely to be more compliant, both towards a compulsory mask policy (and contrary to a plane, where a P95 mask may be a minimum, a skating rink has a large volume of air for each attendant, allowing any mask) and a request not to shout with open mouth, even with the mask on? May not we start to have humming encouragements? Of course attendance may be denied access to the practice, in order to have time enough to renew air. And it is, by the end of August, that is in three months.

Thank you! "любят богов" Was this the expression used by Tatiana Tarasova? And Ari Zakarian acknowledging that Yuzuru Hanyu is a cash machine for ISU, and his r.....ment may hit them hard! May judges stop trying to oust him?

A long interview with Anna Shcherbakova's parents, with many original ideas but also things I was surprised not to see... https://www.sport-express.ru/figure-skating/reviews/roditeli-anny-scherbakovoy-ob-obratnoy-storone-populyarnosti-figurnogo-kataniya-intervyu-1675705/ I think Yuzuru Hanyu's scholarly achievements should be more publicised.

It worked, though I often have problems with Tumblr. What shoulder mobility, particularly if one consider his muscles there! And how the room looks small for his presence!
-
Exactly. I voted for him, would have been tempted to vote for some others, but against? Honestly, it's not about politicians, it's about skaters... And there are nearly as many votes against than for each skater? BWOZWaltz must be right, it looks trashy.

A very bad sign I think. Yes it is in August but I do think it would have been manageable, should Skate Canada have taken advice from the Korean federation, and of course, with only local attendance (and maybe one dedicated hotel for all people coming from abroad). Unless Canadian government refused them to let athletes ant their teams compete without quarantine? But then, what about September and ACI? And what about SC?

As a great specialist in reinventing lukewarm water, I have just discovered Henni147 had a Youtube channel, so she must have already posted this compilation of YOLOs by Yuzuru Hanyu (who else?) until January 19, but it is so fantastic! Warning : one can see his accident of CoR. Usually I cut the music when I watch compilations, but this one fits so well, plus she even matched the style of her edition.

At the moment, WC Helsinki LGC, as I don't know for how long I'll be able to watch it. I think, if I can get a little bit tired of watching it when it disappears from Youtube, I will feel better than if I haven't watched it enough. But to this date, I don't get tired of watching and re-watching it, not the least. (Usually I stop before scores are given, they upset me so much.) Otherwise, (mostly 4CC) Ballade is (was) n°1. Maybe R&J 1 Nice is n°2. Others (programs and interpretations) vary depending on my mood... I like less POTO and NDP, and R&J 2.

From the rink site itself, I understood teams and clubs could already use it since May 11th or 12th. And he's certainly still part of the club. But of course I had to rely on automatic translation. I suppose June 1st is the reopening for regular lessons (probably not for the public? It may not be safe yet.) Edit : I checked icerink-sendai.net, they have a message from May 19th stating that general business would reopen June 1st, so even for public sessions? And they remind that for chartering and for clubs and teams, the reopening was May 11th. If the translation is good, of course. https://icerink-sendai.net/uploads/article/20200519034559_1724499008.pdf

He may be in Vancouver, or at least in Alberta?

You're welcome! Plus, Union internationale de patinage (instead of du) by the end, a stupid mistake. I think it should be re-read by another person. So, you don't know who could add languages to the petition, or join petitions in different languages? One thing I found about this petition, is its focus on jumps, but having a whole tech panel busy at 80% counting revolutions in spins is hardly better. I think new technologies could do a lot about spins too. And speaking of Yuzuru Hanyu, he loses a good deal of GOEs on his wonderful spins, I don't see why.

Well, I'm not qualified at all, but I've read somewhere that a 45° turnout (on each side) was good but that it was not advised to embrace a ballet career with less than 60°. From some photos (spread eagle for instance) I guess he has them. Quite unique in figure skating because many think flexibility and jumps are not compatible.
