  1. Recent cultural differences I would say. Male costume have been that boring in the West, only the last couple centuries, except for religious motives in some denominations. They used to shine, before. That thing of snorting about shiny male costumes (and where do you want to shine, if not on stage or similar?) really upsets me. Just as it would if we had had the reverse, male costume remaining refined and coloured while female costume becoming boring and uniform (plus, we would have been told about the examples of birds etc where males outshine females).
  2. Not from JSF but there is this for instance, the three at once. There's the link to JSF Twitter on it (not accessible when embedded of course).
  3. Thank you (and everybody) for your detailed explanations, particularly as to the statute of permanent resident. Quite different from what we have in France. So, the Soap Opera was right, Keegan-kun is back to Ice-chan after a short time? ;-) (Edited : change from Floor-chan to Ice-Chan, thank you Rockstaryuzu!)
  4. Yes, he seems open to the introduction of technology for measurable bullets & Co, such as number of rotations. Is he really so? Will ISU (particularly, some federations) accept such a move towards impartiality? Because, with all my love for some Russian Ladies, i agree by no means to not calling faults. Judging have to be fair and follow the rules. And we can bet there will be much less chronic problems unadressed. (Not the use of doing the same jumps underrotated during a growth spurt, I have nothing against, it just has to be scored correctly.) This opening alone fuels my wildest hopes. ;-)
  5. Yet the document I sent the link of, states a permanent resident can come back.
  6. Half a tequila and we are soon drunk. Or may we asset different values for a correct 4Tq and for a wrong one, either to avoid a << to a favoured skater, or to lower GOEs of perfectly rotated jumps of Yuzuru Hanyu's?
  7. She's beautiful even when doing faces. ;-)
  8. I don't think CSKA will recruit underhand a Tutberidze coach to lure her pupils into going to a school which have failed to deliver until now, while being still Team Tutberidze employee. I suppose parents and/or pupils chose to meet coaches they think they would prefer, the usual (and wholesome) way. Every year many pupils move from one school to another.
  9. I think Sendai rink opens tomorrow for some activities. Is there a quarantine for people entering Canada? He could come only if he has a permanent residence (and his mother) or a special authorisation by a minister, because I haven't found anything looking like TCC in the list of designated learning institutions in Ontario. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/service-delivery/coronavirus/travel-restrictions.html (Out of topic : for France there is theoretically an "end" to the confinement but everything is quite as unclear as it was days ago.)
  10. The optimist would see the glass half full : Lutz, Loop and Flip now have the same base value, as many had asked for previously, they being equally difficult jumps depending on the skaters; and this base value makes them 1.5 point under the 4A (though, adding BV of two of the previous jumps, as the two best Men jumpers now do in a FS, would maybe not make a change?) instead of 1 previously — yet this 4A base value remains a joke, clearly set to abate Yuzuru Hanyu and try to prevent him showing his utter superiority, even as a jumper alone. It should be at least 15 (they don't know him). Some Russian girls accused of disguising 4Lo into 4Lz may return to 4Lo (well, at least Plushenko won't miss such an occasion to announce a World's First for Ladies with his new pupil, or he is really out of his mind). The pessimist would see the glass half empty : they have created even more room for unfair BV and GOEs. The wild optimist would believe they will implement a way of measuring these q, < and << (and prerotation) accurately. Edit : on the pessimist side too, they have done nothing to spin base value. Don't you think there should be a level 5, with complex arm movements?
  11. And he is such a healing sort of person. I hope she is well soon.
  12. SitTwizzle illustrated (short video). No name is given but some may recognise a skater they know. There are other videos on this channel, showing other movements, plus videos of his programs, some with English and Vietnamese subtitles.
  13. Rukhin was already confirmed yesterday. So far, I see nobody else. https://www.instagram.com/p/B_8EtpwJBhZ/?igshid=1ucgdwjyf95tu I suppose she had conversations with all her skaters and their parents, and she may have asked them not to speak yet, to let the heat pass a bit? After all, it is not easy to speak of the departure of a coach and a classmate in such conditions, particularly for the others As. And if she is angry and not composed enough, Plushenko's attitude (tulip harvest, LV sweater...) is at best childish. Really, I wonder what will become of Alexandra Trusova (though at worse she will have lost a year or two) and the Zhilina sisters (Veronika Zhilina being, I repeat, an exceptional skater but she is so young, nothing is settled yet and I am afraid her talent could get spoiled). Alexandra Trusova was promised a lot, particularly she was promised to be able to work more upon her jumps (so what with her skating skills?) which is "rubbing up the right way" to get her assent but certainly not expressing what she needs, and he knew it perfectly. I am rather defiant towards people who can do that sort of thing. And some former Angels' pupils having complained for lack of ice, will she accept it once the rink reopens? (But there, there can be a change, or Rozanov can have been lured himself as to his future circumstances.)
  14. Aaah! At last something he can do and I can do too. ;-)
  15. There are so many : each program's hydroblade belongs to it, to the program's style. Strangely, I don't find any Yuzuru Hanyu hydroblade compilation on Youtube. There's a signature moves compilation, but it has only three hydroblades.
  16. Well, I read it at the time. I didn't (couldn't) check if it was true.
  17. Yes, and at first she couldn't keep her, that's why she went to Brian Orser's (or that's what they said at the time); but she said she was eventually allowed to take her back and to keep Moris Kviteliashvili, because they had long been her students, not Shoma Uno. I have no clue as to the truth of these assertions, this is just what she says and "it holds". (As say the Italian : se non è vero, è ben trovato; if it is not true, it is well found.) And I have no element to confirm it or contradict it.
  18. That's because from him, with all his PW and LGC winks and wiggles, they perfectly know there is no innuendo; and with all his murderfaces, that it is out of pure kindness. How original! Did she choreograph it herself?
  19. As to Eteri Tutberidze, she said she wasn't allowed to keep a foreign student.
  20. Yuzuru Hanyu's single jumps (of course, there's a good deal of Pyeong-Chang practice) : His quadruple toeloops last season (including those in combination) : And a Youtube channel with a good deal of interviews in Japanese (I tried one, the automatic translations were really weird) : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFdXRwKf9IN5xYAxKVExwwQ/videos
  21. The thing is, in some of his expressions he does look like an anime character, but no anime character have his versatility in expressions, they have to resort to over-the-top and rather depersonalised expressions, instead of Yuzuru Hanyu's real, and completely personal, ones. He is better than anime.
  22. Easy to miss as the name was not in the post but in the previous conversation, which was lately about Zheleznyakov but had been previously about Daniil Gleichengauz. Dreadful, yes, I am sorry people have to learn that sort of movement but it is the trend and they think they must follow it, I suppose.
  23. I think this interpretation of Final Time Traveller, at New Year on Ice Osaka (16/1/16), was not here yet?
  24. Sofia Akatieva was born after July 1st so she won't go next year.
  25. I got Sex Bomb, though I may not have made the same choices as some who had it?
