  1. God I just want two different programmes from before -don’t care if it’s a warhorse, he’s shown that he can cope with that, not sure if two warhorses would bother me at this point - I go past what would be ideal, then past what would be acceptable, then to what would be endurable and now I just want to know..... Sane voice... If ever there was a season to go for the unexpected this is it- unless he’s not fully recovered but wants to keep the impetus, in which case, a warhorse might be helpful. TBH a date for media day would be enough for 24 hours or so.
  2. I feel like no 2 son looks about this time of year when he’s really had enough of the off season and starts watching The Team playing stupid PR games just to see them play, even if half of them are missing......
  3. As @sallycinnamon says the most important thing is health- total recovery and complete and thorough rehabilitation from the injury, but once that’s done, he’s never seemed the type to give up on a jump once he had it. My impression was it was less the 4Ltz than trying to practise it while feeling ill/ jet lagged etc. With a bit of luck NHK experience has cured him of that 🤞🏻
  4. I don’t actually mind who jumps 4A first, I’m sure that when Yuzuru does his will be beautiful, correct and probably out of some complex entry because that’s his style and I can’t imagine him toning it down at this stage. It’s not who does it first but who does it best, and by that I mean consistently , correctly and elegantly, and that’s most likely to be YH. I think it’s highly unlikely that Brian Orser, who has fairly well documented views on gradual development of jumping and skating skills and going slowly and carefully with young skaters would let a 13/14 year old attempt a 4A. It’s not an extra teeny step, it’s a whole extra revolution on the jump that most people find the most challenging, and few of them do well as a triple.
  5. Is there any new information about Stolbova/Klimov?
  6. I hope she takes whatever time she needs to recover properly.
  7. I am horribly busy and much too hot to be running around the way I am but I’m looking forward to a quieter spell the next few weeks and hopefully some news. Can’t wait to see what he’s chosen.
  8. To be perfectly honest, I don’t care what he chooses to do - I just want to see him skate again. I would prefer it not to be a repeat and not to be a warhorse, but I’m sure whatever he picks I’ll enjoy it. I just want to see him skating again - stroking exercises would be great tbh.
  9. This is dreadful news - to be killed for such a reason- desperately sorry for his family and friends.
  10. I’ve been busy but picked up a few suggestions made in various media - 🙏🏻 Mr Hanyu, I beg of you, no Michael Jackson.......
  11. Excellent choice
  12. I disagree with this idea. How can skaters make progress if they stick with their home coaches who don’t have the expertise to take them further? It’s for the coaches to go and get the expertise and keep their skaters - and for skaters to decide that perhaps they need some outside input when their coaches decide to stay at home and not expand their repertoire. I appreciate that skaters don’t have that luxury in some countries. But it makes me glad that Yuzuru and Shizuka were not part of the mainstream Japanese blocs and were able to think outside the box.
  13. It all sounds like a storm in a teacup - if I’m right in thinking that it’s a chat show with people making off the cuff, non prepared comments? Things get lost in translation - they also get magnified and totally overhyped -
  14. Que sera sera - it’s Doris Day season according to DW
  15. Bloody hell - what next??
  16. Is he returning to the fold or is Ksenia jumping ship after PC?
  17. What??? Anything on any Russian media?
  18. Guidelines and recommendations- I don’t know how to infuse the level of gloom that those words provoke in me into a written post - it’s visceral.
  19. It’s marvellous that he chooses this place and a school to show off both OGM - so much more meaningful than allowing it to become a commercial or political event
  20. I am dipping in and out according to wi fi connections and am getting whiplash with retirements/ returns/ what we thought were retirements butnow might not be (looking at KR). Astonished that DT is returning in the season that Machida retires from pro skating. His knee has to be the big concern and his press con sounds quite ambitious - but only for a year? Sounds absurd to me to put oneself through all that after what to me sounded like an emphatic total withdrawal from skating 3/4 years ago, just for one season ? Makes no sense. I hope the judges do their work properly, the fans behave with decorum (on all sides) and that Daisuke does himself justice in this comeback. I hope it isn’t a retread of Pluschenko at Sochi. I’m not expecting all those hopes to come about but one has to be positive.
  21. Be interesting to see what it looks like by March 2019 - it isn’t to my taste but could be of interest if the jerky movement matches the music (SLB will choreo it that way but will/can N follow what she says), and if he doesn’t ditch the choreo for jumps. Not holding my breath tbh.
  22. I’ve upset my companions by dragging behind - both European GPs ?? Really ?
  23. I have wi fi- it’s patchy and moves at the same mollusc like pace as the ISU but it’s better than nothing - and for some reason my phone has decided to write in italics and bold 🤷🏻‍♀️
  24. STILL no news - what are they doing engraving the bloody list?
