Curly hair is hard work if you’re in your 20s, fashion conscious and the trend is for straight / slightly wavy hair. I was fortunate enough to be that age when curls were in; I could roll out of bed, shower, shake it out and go. All my friends were spending a fortune on perms ( or spending a little and bitterly regretting the frizzy mess that ensued). My daughter is a world class burner out of hairdryers and straighteners.

Hmmm- I hope for SGs sake this isn’t the start of an American style build up that he may or may not be able to live up to. He’s only 13 and needs to be left to get on with laying down some important foundations.

I don’t really care about the GOAT stuff- but - I’m tired of comparisons with Dick Button which laud his consistency and supremacy. Immediately post war the best young (because not enlisted/ exhausted) North American ( because they had intact rinks to practice/ compete on) man was bound to win everything in sight for at least 6/10 years because it takes a long time for populations and infrastructure to recover, and expensive sports facilities were bottom of the list of priorities. He had no real rivals unlike Curry/Cranston, Boitano/Orser, Pluschenko/ Yagudin, Hanyu/ Chan/ Fernández.

I wondered about Haru yo koi - apart from Requiem I think in the past he has kept Exhibition skates to Japanese music for galas etc in Japan and used others outside, so it’s possible he’ll use something else in Helsinki and Moscow. I’m impatient too, but it’s not unusual for him to wait til September - it isn’t necessarily anything sinister and the rehab by ice show seemed to go well. Just have to suppress the inner two year old who ‘wants it now’.

I would love commentary that just gave me the facts. TBH I don’t mind the ott Tara/Johnny stuff because I only catch it later - it’s the BBC and BESP that drive me mad - and I’ve said it all before and won’t repeat, but honestly be glad you have down to earth factual commentary.

There are light hearted posts as well as serious ones on this thread, and indeed most of them. It’s best to ignore and pass over anything which is not to your taste. Its nice to think of those +100,+200, and + 300 records permanently there, unbeaten under the previous system.

I wish we could clone Ted and spread him across the English speaking tv networks.

It’s not just Yuzuru. I can’t remember which competition it was, but BESP were waffling on about Han Yan, and how he’d gone off the boil and what a shame he wasn’t fulfilling the promise of his earlier seasons blah blah blah and I wanted a hotline to the commentary box to remind them that he’d just come back from surgery on his shoulder - a tiny bit of internet research would have given them that information. I think it was the same time that they were blithering on about Shoma ‘possibly’ being injured.
