People tend to remember the skater that performed it best (Mr Triple Axel) rather than the first to scramble through it in competition
-
They already covered that one - looks like roughly one international subject to each American one - shocker
-
Just not that one

Wait til he picks carmina burana/Roxanne/etc

I’m on the move- using up my carefully hoarded data roaming to find that ISU is driving us all to drink/ fantastical speculation- how unsurprised am I? I also vote for old school outdoor venue
-
I’m astonished they did it - Uchimura and Yamamura look very uncomfortable- Kato and Shirai look nervous - only Tanaka looks like he’s happy with it. I suppose it’s difficult to say no when it’s such an emotional national topic - also harder to do. I bet it felt harder to do than winning the medal!

I think Pluschenko sees Yuzuru as a kindred spirit, with the same drive and love of competition - which is fine as long as Yuzuru’s health holds out. Iirc he doesn’t react well to the various disinfectants and drugs that go with the sorts of surgeries that Pluschenko has had to endure so on the whole I’d like him to rein in his competitive streak if he starts to approach that point. If his health holds and he wants it - that’s his choice. Sort of wish people could let the news season start before banging on about Beijing but if even the PM is at it .....🤷🏼♀️

I am a firm supporter of R&J2 - I love all of it, the sleeve details, the waist, the jewelled edges, - I don't even dislike the boobskirt. I do dislike Dory because it doesn't look as though anyone thought it out properly - the yellow bit looks like an afterthought and reminds me of an old aunt when I was a very small child who used to use a yellow chiffon scarf in the slightest breeze to protect her helmet hairdo, the mix of colours is meh, the drapery across the back looks terrible in action on certain elements of the skating ..... just no.

Grand Prix assignments and how they work

I shall laugh like a drain if he goes to SC and gets the traditional silver even without PC.... -

"Guidelines" - did anyone see Pirates of the Caribbean? Because that's what I think every time I see the word, especially in relation to sports authorities. -
Prince special on BBC4 - hope its not an omen - I want new stuff across the board - horribly greedy but it's the truth ...

Nope - been watching him for more years than I care to remember - muscle memory in the fingers even when half asleep and creases in the ties - until they wear out along the creases or rip on the collar studs which is an irritation I’m sure you’re familiar with @Geo1
-
My husband wears a tie every day of his working life - but he still gets the length wrong when he's going to a wedding/funeral (about the only times he wears them outside work) - I think the everyday ties get creased into a certain shape which the 'best' ones don't. Don't get me started on bow ties - whole other nightmare.

They should put a little video display of his antics at ACI alongside them.

What is it that @Fresca calls them - Vaganova fingers?

I wouldn't worry - can't see anyone ( except possibly Guarise) taking up the option. Now what would be a good idea is trousers for ladies - does it still have to be a dress or unitard? -

I have no idea who brought that rule in or when it was introduced but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if USFSA was behind it and it was aimed at the likes of Rudy Galindo or Johnny Weir. -

Sounds like something a satirist might write - but it's real -
I think this is going to be the interesting part - with his second OGM in the bag and the odd comment about skating how he wants from now on I'm wondering if lost in translation is the intention to focus more on the musical and artistic integrity of the programme and less on the calculations, if his music choices tend that way.

Well we have had a few comments about the root of the problem being the bias and conflict of interest on the judging panels, one of them from me pages ago and probably on a different thread but it is so entrenched, of such long standing that I for one stopped talking about it. Any of these systems could work if the judges applied them properly. I think I've said before - it's applying a coat of paint to an old car when what it really needs is a new engine.- 685 replies

Think of it as satire - or broad farce the way they’re conducting it. Who agreed to show this.... what shall I call it- less than impressive set of proceedings on the internet for the entire world to snigger at (assuming they have the stamina to endure the boring bits in between the funnies) -

Might need a cartoonist to do it justice. -

Considering the blackout at 4CC gala I suppose some of the arenas electricity systems wouldn't cope with an amped up rock group....pity. I bet there's a superannuated shorthand writer taking the notes of the conference in that room somewhere - can't rely on this newfangled electronic recording you know.
