  1. VIDEO - Time Machine: How figure skating has evolved With Yuzuru as the example for the quad.
  2. This interview is many things. But it’s mostly the story of Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron’s free dance for the season that has just ended. That intense, emotional free dance that had people on their feet in Helsinki’s Hartwall Arena, at this year’s edition of the World Championships. That consuming performance that left them completely drained, hands on their heads, catching their breath – but happy, proud, relieved they made this program, and its music, work. Because with these two, skating is always about challenge – they do challenge themselves, and people watching; it’s about authenticity and flow; about ice dancing, and not just dancing on the ice. You’ll see that for yourselves: Gabriella and Guillaume’s work philosophy is easily traceable between the lines – they question, analyze, they search for butterflies, excitement; and they don’t ever take the easy way. by Florentina Tone/Helsinki Source Really wonderful read, some interesting thoughts about the Short, how they handle pressure; Latin dances on ice and how they do (not) translate, their absolutely wonderful Free this season, next season, etc. Very much worth your time
  3. And in encouraging, good news, Hanee is indeed back on the ice. Video He's being watched by a couple of doctors, so fingers crossed!
  4. You don't want to do a couple of the older ones, as a practice run? You could even pick something less potentially controversial for starters? ETA Yes, what Max mentioned there, maybe do the GPF?
  5. Yes, Mishin said this: x I don't actually agree with that because we've had really flexible skaters who were great jumpers, apart from Yuzuru (aside the falls so often thing, because I don't think it's true anyway), like for example Plushenko. You cannot skip him over in this discussion.
  6. Coming, I was just there actually Go for it, it is perfect for SKK. I'd start smaller if I were you then expand, when you get the hang of it! Sounds brill.
  7. Thank you for all the work! (you can also put the link way up top of the OP in red, it's easier to see!) (and congrats!)
  8. Yes, a while back but even he said he heard it as a rumor. I'm going to choose to be careful about those but it is a fact that people are trying quints; they have been ever since Plushy's time and the equipment is progressing. At some point, we will see it landed but I believe ISU is going to be very, very careful with all of this, especially considering the ongoing conversation about too many quads and healthy issues.
  9. All right, fair enough! You do have a point! Tbh, I honestly don't remember. Maybe? But that would also work just fine. More than fine! Seriously, I'd love a fun program for those two at FaOI (even if we never get to see it, unless of course someone sneaks a video ... I'd maybe pay for that ... )
  10. Ah yes, I actually agree with this! It's my favorite thing too, the arms and the way he moves with the music. Didn't he work on those with Bestemianova? She did a smashing job with that and of course, he's ridiculously talented (news at 11, I know...)
  11. Well I did give you the other option! And hey, NS isn't fun, but it has other qualities
  12. Especially the older he gets I would think! And yet it does look almost effortless now, thanks to the release. And I kind of get a little thrill how it's so unusual for men, pretty much one of his trademarks now.
  13. You guys sure were productive today! How is one supposed to catch up! I love the way it looks now!
  14. I am not sure that works. But NS is workable though? Sailor Moon and TM then!
  15. That's very true. I do wonder what they'd skate to and how. I guess similar to what she did with Misha?
  16. He was at the team-building event (the one where Yuzuru was too, the first day only) for the Olympics so I'm going to guess that he's going to return fine this season.
  17. Yuzuru wears those, they're from the Sendai rink. As I said here before it'd be cute if they were a gift to her, and I wouldn't even be surprised if they were. But some people just cannot handle that they are friends. Just ignore it. Unfortunately it's been happening for a while now. (welcome to the forum!)
  18. If FaOI organizers are kind to us, we might even get a pair skate of a sorts! I mean if they're smart, they would because talk about publicity. Fingers crossed for pictures and yes please
  19. That's a good question and honestly, no clue. I think it may be a possibility. I haven't seen a thing new though so we wait.
  20. Someone better have an epi-pen ready!
  21. Oh yes, he's not watering down his precious but in principle, he could as one quad would do. I think if someone suggested it to him, he'd probably keel over!
  22. Yes but it's not really something that you can apply logic to, so saying it's beneficial to skating/other skaters/logical because of WCh etc so they will protest because it's pure hate. It's really more the 'Nagoya thread' topic, it's in the Knickknacks, if we want more on this.
  23. Yes, basically. One quad and he's through! But he doesn't have to go: With translation from IK
