  1. Boyang is going to Canada for choreo on June 1st. Hanee on the 20th, considering. S/H are done with theirs.
  2. Well this is usually great music, just over-used so even if he does, I'm hoping with his overall content, we'll push through it
  3. *bangs gavel* *clears throat* Sorry for interrupting folks. Our darling @gladi has gone and opened the official Fantasy on Ice (FaOI) 2017 thread for us all, considering that the show is very close and we should be getting the first news/reports/photos, all of which will go to that thread. Please join us in enjoying ourselves, gushing and also being frustrated by Fuji.
  4. I always considered this hedging to be a smart tactic for that very reason. It's far better to simply say not at this moment, especially if he doesn't know whether it is going to be doable or not, instead of saying yes I plan to, then if it turns out problematic to have to state a retraction of that to the media. It'd be a letdown and this way, he is protected from it, and possible bad impact to his rep. So yes, this is definitely the best way to behave.
  5. No way is that beyond him. Around Europeans his consistency was around 60%. Even the one at WTT looked good, that edge and we have to keep in mind the context there. So yes, he can definitely do it.
  6. Of course he'd lie. Why wouldn't he? It gets the press off his back, which is a huge bonus. It's not going to last for ever but at least it will to some extent. Plus he is not revealing his plans to his rivals in this way. And yeah, it kind of is a bad strategy because he actually has to get used to landing that jump in competition. I mean yes, he can of course change it during the season but the more time he has to incorporate it, the better. It really isn't that easy, especially not with the requirements he puts on his elements. Also it really isn't that difficult to see where the men's discipline is going. Everyone will upgrade as much as they can so it's easy to do the calculations. He won't put himself in an inferior position at the start of the season, if he can help it.
  7. Uh uh uh. Practice session but which one ... Gala I think, GPF or SC. Maybe somebody will remember exactly, I've got way too many things jumbled in my head.
  8. Yes because it included an absolutely glorious IB - SE - 1A - SE
  9. While wearing a scary scull t-shirt @Eclair yes, it does seem to be going in the right direction now, knock on wood!
  10. Yes indeed! And I believe Patrick is very much correct when he says the higher the number of quads, the more program suffers. I've said this before and I'm sticking to it. He said he believes the maximum number to be three, though I think Yuzuru has shown four is possible. Of course, here's where the number probably needs to be adjusted depending on the individual, it's a bit of a sliding scale really and depends what a person is capable of overall. Even with that though, he will do what he must, he'll try his best to up his content. There really is no other choice any of them have, if they want to be on top. It's up to the ISU to fix this but it won't happen this season so needs must.
  11. Well some are, some aren't. I think there's been a fair bit of talk about this during the past season. The amount of attention Jason Brown is getting, and even Misha, plus Deniss as a young and upcoming skater, is showing that plenty are aware of the need for a balance. The scoring of course, is a different thing but that's down to ISU and the judges. Yuzuru cannot hinder himself in order to satisfy some ideal, while he loses the game. This is a competitive sport and he has to find what balance he can in adding new elements, while at the same time keeping up with the rest of it as much as he can. Will something get sacrificed with 5 quads? Of course. But it's not on him to fix it, it's on ISU and until they adjust the rules of the game, there is nothing he can do. With the new rules post PC and potential raising of the PCS ceiling, we'll see how it all turns out but until then, he can only play the game as it is right now.
  12. Yup, that's what I meant by 'he doesn't have it'. There is that one attempt and it was UR. He would need to work on it and depending on his new layout, there will probably be no need.
  13. Add the 4Lz. He can keep a 4 quad program that way and have room for an emergency 5 quad layout for one. I mean we have to wait and see, who knows what he'll choose. But thinking about what someone will 'blame' him for is a pointless exercise and he'd never let that lead his actions. Someone will always blame him for something - too many quads, not enough quads, not enough variety, too few transitions, he looks down too much, his arms are noodley, he doesn't point his toe ... because that's what those people do and they will always find something to yap about. So basically they're not worth our time, never mind his. Plus do you really think Yuzuru would ever skate an 'empty' program? That's not who he is.
  14. The layout talk is never over! We managed to have one going throughout the whole season that just ended! About the -3Lo, yes you gain more points but he'd need to practice the combination, to make it actually stable. He doesn't have it now. The thing with the -3Lo combos though, is that they're murder on the hips so there's that problem. We'll have to wait and see what his new layout even is but I doubt we'll see a -3Lo combo and better! (welcome to the forum!)
  15. And honestly, that Patrick is even considering dusting off the 4F, and Javi the 4Lo, speaks for itself.
  16. +1 It's who he is. He wants to be in absolute control of his own destiny and he's always pushed forward. He won't stop now, especially considering the push for others.
  17. Nah. There is nothing to wait for. The others are already very close overall, even without the additions they will be making for next season, especially Shoma, and the other two young ones are improving constantly too. Everyone will try and upgrade for the Olympic season, including Patrick, if he can dust off that 4F. Also landing a jump in practice is miles different from landing it in competition. You YOLO a jump you're comfortable with, like the 4T this season. It's already pretty apparent he needs the 4Lz. If it's good enough in practice, he'll be including it in his layout.
  18. If I remember well, Stephane helped polish up Shoma's FSprogram so maybe that again plus an EX?
  19. Huh. I've heard singles + pairs, but ice dance? Well, it'll be interesting to see!
  20. Ah it is a pity about Adian. I suppose he may have a better shot post-Olympics, considering the rules change, if his injury can heal so there is that but it does look grim. And seriously! Oi vey, not a good way to handle that. Still, pity about the injury if true, especially if it is something major. There is still some slight time but I wonder now because I did expect her to first show up on the GP circuit.
  21. Aww, he's just so fab! Though now I wish for one of those and no, no. Thank you for the interview too!
  22. I wonder if Adian will even return. Good for Radio, and I am still curious what the FS is, considering that one pose we saw.
  23. ^^ Moris seems like such a fun person! Fingers crossed he advances even further next season, I'd say this one was a pretty good one. Julian likes Japan!
  24. Nah. 4A is a monster of a jump, extremely dangerous. He might try for fun here and there, but if he's working on a new quad, it's the 4Lz, especially considering those old news by Max. The 4A will be a post-Olympics thing. Even then, it's going to be really hard to incorporate into a program, especially considering how Yuzuru likes to do things. One of the reasons why I'm curious to see it, is because I want to know if he'll end up compromising or not. Might have to.
  25. And in the off season, Boyang has graduated!
