  1. okay, grab by neck and toss into giant bubblebath. It is less likely to freak him, plus is part of a new bathclin commercial. It was something involving Yuzu, and preventing him training, and a swan attacking people.
  2. So next time we need to use an army to hold him down when he has a fever to prevent him from practicing? grab by neck and toss into water? Thought he said he cannot swim....
  3. This is still positive news though. This week is still week 5, and it seems he is being careful. Usually people take longer than expected to fully heal up, so he should be fine. Happy maybe not, bu healthy, sure.
  4. Since he takes after his mother, he'll be prettiest dad at the parent-teacher conference. You are not the only salty one, I am low key smirking in a corner. Though I really wonder how long the appreciation will last. My faith in humans is quite low.
  5. let's not talk about other forums, we know which forum rules them all.
  6. Is this part of that Suzuki plan thing I found when I googled JSA? Something about an initiative to help Japan win more medals in the summer olympics? If so, why drag Yuzu into this? He's a winter sports champion, and while I'm sure he'd love to be a torch relay runner for Japan for 2020, I don't see the link between skating with Yuzu and the summer games. Unless Suzuki really wants to extend his initiative to the winter sports too? Though Japan isn't doing too shabby.
  7. Jump ladies harem got mentioned...and lady 4 salchow told me that I must agree to join, else she might do things to me with her bonsai shears. *shudder*
  8. but LP isn't guaranteed if they don't do well in SP?
  9. ACI Yuzu fans were amazing, we can probably organize some kind of cheer routine from the stands.
  10. There are moves you can do on ice, that you cannot do on land. So they are not equivalent.
  11. Did they release year of the dog pooh tissue boxes yet?
  12. @axelnojutsu @singcarcom: back to the barn thing at TCC. We need to feel sympathy for the poor raccoon since it was let in on purpose to create a meaningful break distraction. But there might not be a second time. Just think: Collie: Raccoon-san, we need a slight break. We need a break so everyone can go calm down. Raccoon san: Okay...how much are you going to pay me this time? Collie: um.... Raccoon san: Dude, last time I did this for you, I almost go electrocuted. I'm not going to chew through electricity wires again this time without sufficient down payment. What if I do get electrocuted? Hmm? What about my family? They depend on me, what will they do? Collie: uh...would a pair of Irene gloves do? Raccoon-san: *raises eyebrow* eh.... Collie: ....okay, what if I throw in one of Yuzu's old used boots...? *hopeful* Raccoon-san: ..... *Note: joking, I don't think we're going to get another case this winter...I think...
  13. Maybe Disney is thinking the same thing- need disguise to smuggle pooh in, on a mass scale. It'll be the fashionable thing to do at PC.
  14. So Yuzu might actually have the most stable arsenal of quads? It sounds as if counting WTT, he's the only one who broke 25%. The actual data that surprises me a bit, is that Nate's jump completion trajectory seems to go up and down in a yo-yo pattern, and it seems this season his peaking is totally off. Since he won't need that many quads at US nationals, he could try to force his peaking back to normal-unless his team is scared of Vincent Zhou marching in with 3-4 quads, but I don't think the US judges would score Zhou that favorably (Nate is the clear favorite in the US). Shoma's pattern this season is way off due to his flu, and I'm somewhat tempted to say his peak won't be hit at PC since he seems to warm up even slower than Yuzu or Nate. The other guy that seems to peak late in the season is Boyang...so him sticking with 4 quads might actually be the wisest move in the men's? If it weren't for his PCS, we would have a real sleeper there.
  15. That's good, things will be more exciting then. =)
  16. I need to see the top six guys all posed like that in a photo together. For good measure, toss in Misha, Jason, Adam, Guillaume, Andrew Poje, Alex Shibutani, Han Cong, and Mikhail too.
  17. I am just getting lunch....the raw egg is a no go though.
  18. Hint: the raccoon is part of the barn. The collie scheduled it to de-stress the barn. Sometimes breaks are good.
  19. So ow TCC is a full barn? Does that make Brian a border collie herding everything into shape?
  20. True, but then again aci sp was done with less....best he doesn't reinjure, and hope he learns not to force it with a fever now ( or at least his team will sit on him if he tries).
  21. But the actual math is 6-7 weeks, which butts right into nationals.
  22. Hmm, actually it is good that he even tells people his condition and status. This is kind of like that sore knee before aci. Following his past, he actually keeps more quiet about the serious injuries, so the fact he is saying anything might mean it is actually within control? Checking calender, he was exactly on week 4 of his entire recovery period, so he likely would not be on the ice, unless his recovery ability is superhuman levels. First thing is to gain full strength and use of his right leg, not just ankle, because it has been in disuse for a while. And Edea piano boots are freakin stiff, hard shoes.
  23. Hmm well it hardly ever snows where I am, but this winter is colder than normal. So we'll see if I get a chance to before Feb. =) Usually I never worry about the male skater's I become invested in- they usually do well and pull through despite setbacks (the years where I didn't watch though had some surprises). The ladies on the other hand....I'm used to being heartbroken by them on a regular basis.
  24. I think he's not going to go the plush route. His jumping mechanics are already different from Plushenko, and Plush's injuries in the same time frame was waaay more. But how he handles his nerves is a lesson Yuzu has to learn-nerves help to a degree in that it can produce adrenaline effect. But too much and it incapacitates him. Brian seems to have figured out how to get Yuzu to that state, if Helsinki and COR are any indication.
  25. It's actually not the first time that someone went without competition for a long time and came back alright. Go google the wikipedia article on Evegni Plushenko- if you look at the 05-06 column, it only lists cup of Russian, nationals, europeans and olympics. The guy had a long off season. And he also did not go to GPF. The issue isn't how long you go without competing- if we may refer to Plushenko again, it's about how you train up for it. Also, 05-06 was during the 6.0 system, where going clean was more important than even now, and Evegni did have competition: Brian Joubert and Stephan Lambiel both had quads, and Jeffery Buttle and Johnny Weir were both fairly competitive, and a young Evan Lysacek won 4th that cycle too. What's most important now for Yuzu is that he fully heals, and the affected regions are able to take on weight. We don't know the cause of the pain- for all we know, it might be that he's healed but since 10 days of complete rest and then 1-2 weeks of light training means his ankle hasn't gained full ability to take the full weight of the jumps. And there are ways for him to test it-- like on land training with just singles and doubles. If there's still pain, maybe his right ankle is still a bit weak due to disuse for such a long time. And that's expected- if you had to rest a limb for 2 weeks without being allowed to put any weight on it, it'd be the same. And well, he is human (sometimes...sometimes). As for next steps: 1) If he's back on ice this week and gets to train each day from 12/11-12/18,he might end up going to JNats. But the layout will need to be watered down. It would be wiser to go with the SP layout at ACI, and maybe 15/16 Seimei layout to avoid overusing his right ankle (take out 4 Lz and 4Loop). All things considered, he might still do well. But if he's not recovered enough, just avoid Nats since avoiding re-injury is more important. My guess is that this possibility is low. 2) If he's back on ice by late Dec, then 4CC is a possibility, The time difference between 4CC and Olys is roughly the time difference between 2 events in the GP series. Plus if Boyang is going, he gets a chance to compete against an olympic podium hopeful with a quad arsenal. If he's back to NHK shape by 4CC, then timing wise with the Olys, it's about the gap between NHK and GPF usually. But if he's not fully back to NHK shape, no need to go. 3) I'm not worried about Yuzu's SP-- he managed to break his WR at ACI after about a week of training. And maaaaybe he'll consider going with that ACI layout (it should still be able to net him 110+). His FS is the one that I would only consider doing any competitions just for the sake of practice. Anyone else here a fan of Plushenko between 2003-2006? Remember the good ole' times where news of his injuries were so normal that you became numb to it? Like you know, Plushenko just competed with a groin injury. He just recovered from a knee surgery. Plushenko just recovered from a back injury, and look he even had to add screws to his spine! Not to make light of Yuzu's injuries, but men's skating does have a pretty famous guy who came back from a lot of injuries to crush his opponents.
