Cool, kakoii, bit cold for guys. And, simple, cute, sporty for girls? And I already hear of girls cutting their hair short for him already... No people, I refuse to answer more questions of whether you resemble Gakki.

Nah, there isn't a shrine on his twitter yet, nor an overdose of FaOI Nyanyu.
-
Well we did say that sometimes psychological denial of things would lead to insanity. I do recall we had a little story plot about this sometime ago? It's just the start of the crack in the shell, before we find the secret shrine. It also confirms that Yuzu is the mythical money tree.

More swan references.... Well cats are therapeutic you know. Never said it didn't apply to space kittens. =) (check your inbox)

What kind of mushroom soup are we talking about? The vegetable variety?

Yuzu looks so out of it in that photo...wonder if current him would have the guts to do a performance with Tamura again.
-
I don't recall him parting his hair that way, and the left eye does not stand out as much as normal (no, not the cross eye, I meant the heavy double eyelid). And why is he in a bakery store? o_O

Well if you want to discuss subtext, it kind of shades both the quadsters and the "artistic" skaters, especially since the line was about how quads are great, if you can do them. If anything, it makes it look like the artistic guys are going to struggle, and a bit of side shade that they're not good enough. The positive is that they are painted as the underdogs. Somewhat funny they chose Jason as the "artist" to go with Chan, since Jason isn't going-does that mean the only "artist" remaining at Olys is going to be Chan? Which is amusing because the other option could have been Javi. And for quadsters, they could have also chosen Boyang. For now, just let them go at it-people can always youtube videos of Yuzu and Nathan, and I think Seimei and H&L will hold up well under casual scrutiny. I've debated where to put this, but this might be the most suitable place. All the media these days politicking back and forth, you can kind of see patterns. I almost want to do a game theory diagram. But seeing all these media write off Yuzu and complaints about judges potentially blocking him...I'm actually calm. There's no point in dragging Yuzu into your article unless you are tacitly acknowledging that he is probably the biggest contender for that middle position on the podium. Otherwise, why is it so important that he is injured, that your guy beat him in some element, compare and contrast with him etc? Yes, he is the reigning one from Sochi, but that is not sufficient enough to make him a threat if he has not performed the past couple of years-like winning GPF and 2017 WC. Why is it so important that he is injured and might have had less practice time etc? Because without those conditions he'd probably kick your fed's guy's butt? Part of me suspects that in each Fed or skater's mind, there is a little line that goes like this: "I want to win, but if, IF I had to lose, I could imagine losing to <insert name>." And that <insert name> would be Yuzu, especially if he's clean. Because Yuzu hasn't really had politicking backing him, his scores are generally less suspect to inflation (despite what some other places say). Those scores, while not the best or possibly correct ones given to him, are probably closest we'll get to "pure scores." He is a bit of a "neutral territory" that when he skates clean, we can all kind of agree that he can take first. So where am I going with this? Historically, there have been political candidates who won because political infighting within parties, between parties kind of imploded and destroyed other candidates. And that "pure" /"Neutral zone" candidates becomes the default choice that everyone is okay with- due to their own merits having nothing negative. In this case, I think Yuzu is like that- he can win on his own merits when he is clean, and is kind of that type of candidate that doesn't have a blemish to really rally against, so when politicking imploding happens, he can still be safe (cause he is the default candidate everyone is okay with). As such, the most important thing is for him just to be healthy, happy and skate contentedly. Does this make any sense?

Need to lock myself up in my room to watch. Will be lectured for being anti-social. But I think my priorities are correct-Chinese New Year's happens every year, but Olys is only once every 4 years. Yep!
-
I might be able to, but will likely not watch it around the family. It's right on Chinese New Year's for me, so the TV will be occupied for the New Year's TV shows, nor do I want to be caught with slightly wet eyes when he skates.

I made a stats sheet in the general skating chat which listed the % that each guy managed to grab of all possible points in the free skate at Helsinki. I haven't done the SP ones yet. You're making me want to do it just to see if he could have broke 335 total last season if his SP managed to grab the same percentages as his long.
-
Have you read all of Gladi's translations yet?
-
Technically you could -Lo-3F anything within the boundaries of the no repeats rules.
-
Well they haven't watched it a couple hundred times for starters. As for the Axels, well apparently the current Empress 3A is from a very very distinguished family that is very picky about which emperors they serve. In fact, the women of that family have especially eluded the pursuit of many emperors, kings and queens alike who ask for their aid. Looking at the recent lady, she has refused to aid many a men and would be kings. A serious tease too. I think @Yatagarasu and @Fay would be interesting, I'm far less technical. I am very quiet when watching, and you won't hear anything other than "Oh...that's beautiful" once in a while.
-
But that's why I love Zu's 3F. There's a very significant "out of nowhere" quality to it. Hmm, after watching a program a couple of times, I can usually tell when his jumps are coming. But the 3F-usually I still get the timing just slightly off. It's so well integrated into the choreography, blink and you miss it, it feels like he can yolo it. His entire "my jumps are transitions" line I think most easily applies to his 3A and his 3F.
-
I see the squinty eyes...sure, boring...yep, let's keep on believing that.
-
Well I wonder if he would ever add lady 4F. Okay, I have the final puzzle for 3F. 3F is in fact male, and is a general under the command of the emperor. Previously, due to some betrayl, 3F has been put under monitor and so far has done well, fighting and winning battles consistently. Rumor says that should General 3F continue to do well, the emperor may consider rewarding him and his family by bringing in 3F's sister, 4F into the palace. *Note: there have been emperors who used their harem positions as political favors and as a way to establish alliances. Some of the older dynasties, such as the Han, some of the concubines were married for political reasons, and usually it was rare for a lady from a lesser known family to be selected.
-
His kuyashii if made physical would not fit in this solar system.
-
Well if timing works, I might join you guys. When is it anyways? And yeah...sometimes I feel we are overly dramatic. Has there ever been an injury that was part of his plans? And he's usually bounced back from those issues quite well. There is a certain purity to his skating that kind of...gives you a lot more hope than you think should be reasonable.
-
Really? I don't think the injury has really dampened his ambitions-it hasn't before. He always goes for something beyond what we'd expect for a guy who's just recovered (if 2014 GP series taught us anything).
-
He should skate to it for an EX....the lyrics fit him far too much.

Well it depends on what you mean by quality crossovers (I know its sarcasm here). If the criteria of quality cross over is that it is a step that should help a skater achieve faster speed efficiently/effectively, then there are 2 criteria you can look at. One is the amount of ice covered per cross over. Two the amount of steps done out of those crossovers. If this is the criteria you judge by, then you could count how many transitions steps were done following each crossover, and the duration of gliding done after or between crossovers (this may indirectly go towards the ice coverage criteria). My gut feeling is that Pchiddy, Yuzu and Javi would probably win. But the counting and timing would be insane, so don't do it for the sake of your sanity! On the other hand, the data already kind of corresponds to their speed when you see them live. That Patrick and Yuzu seem capable of gaining speed out of simple movements and fully utilize their ankle/knee/edges. The rest being somewhat in between and Shoma and Nate might be the slowest? Edit: hmm, Yuzu and Patrick could possibly cheat the system a bit for the quality crossovers count, since they can gain speed from one foot turns.Alright, they should stop screwing up my perfect hypo testing scenarios.

...well we did joke about rising from the ashes like a phoenix. Wonder how many equators was the kuyashii this time around.

Well, true. But the LGC costume is quite memorable. Plus people can always look for the Pooh Rain.
