I am one of those new fans who came across Yuzu by way of the YOI anime. Yes, I'm one of those. I started watching YOI due to my tumblr dashboard exploding about this anime, and I loved it. As a result of that I kept seeing mentions of the real life figure skater inspirations for the anime (everyone saying Yuuri is Yuzuru Hanyu, that kind of thing, even if he is totally Machida) so I checked his WR Sochi PW performance someone linked to on the reddit group. Then I checked some more performances, which included Chopin :love:, Seimei, RJ1, POTO and, well, pretty much all his competitive programs and a side of EX too. I fell a little bit in love with how amazing he was and how he fit my aesthetics so well. Then I gradually branched out into watching other skaters that kept popping up on Youtube and eventually became a fan of figure skating itself. As for YOI, I kind of never actually joined its fandom, though I still check for updates on a second season when I can. However, truth be told, the anime was a lot less painful than the real thing; how one suffers when your faves underperform!

This is probably the best thing ever that I've only now seen. Saving it for posterity. By now we can start working on our Bingo. So, checking it, we got: 1 POTO 1 Swan Lake 1 Samson & Delilah 1 Turandot and 1 Four Seasons We also got a Rach Concerto n.º 3, so close enough. You also missed a Tango de Roxanne, of which we got 2 now; that can probably be the free space. We just need a RJ and a Tosca to complete a row!

I think that closing a general forum for Yuzuru is not a good idea, since there are many people who lurk and never register and post, and they deserve to have access to as many news on Yuzu as anyone else. But there can be some specific sections of the site that can be members only, like the place and I guess some particular threads, but the whole of it is a different matter. IMHO.

To me It was more of a joke than a real 4A attempt. The hype about quads is reaching cosmic proportions, that's true, and it's no good for the quality of jumps and for the sport itself. Yeah. I mean, people even thought Yuzu's standstill 3A at Worlds gala was a 4A attempt... *facepalm*

Yeah, since it was from instastory, people probably thought immediately it must be something special and thought 4A! I even thought 4A! And then saw the slowed down video trying to understand and eventually shed the initial idea planted in my mind, because it wasn't a 4A after all.

No idea because the video is a 3A It's 3A isn't it? I watched the clip 10 times and it's 3A ... I thought so too, but I honestly can't tell with 4As because the forward motion confuses me when to begin counting.

Should we worry? Technically it could be called copyright infringement if done without permission (full posts, not small citations). But usually a post on the internet getting copied is not very high on the list of illegalities the law will pursue, I'd hope.

To be honest, not even the ladies have Evgenia's consistency. @ Murieleirum. Agreed!

Yeah, I showrped it to a friend, she really enjoyed it, said "nice save" on the combo and then I had to explain her ghag theu didn't count the combo.So, not really bombing. His step sequence was on fire in that SP. And he had the most beautiful of 4Lo's there. So aside from his combo not counting, he still got a slightly less than 100 score. The problem was all the other men coming after having such stellar SPs too, some getting personal bests, which placed Yuzu in 5th and colored his SP in a more negative light in comparison.

He does seem to attack more when he's chasing after the SP but he's also had stellar FS performances with good SPs: GPF 2014, NHK 2016 (first in both segments), NHK 2015/GPF 2015. And yet, at GPF 2014 he did have something to prove after his GP series results and NHK ends up being a result of his frustration at losing to Patrick at SC; GPF 2015, in fact, could almost be considered an outlier in a pattern. But I don't think we can really ascribe a pattern of if he's good at a SP he'll immediately bomb the FS.

Adam Rippon's keeping his Arrival of the Birds LP Yay! I loved it and will be happy to see him skate it again since he had so few opportunities to last season.

There have been some MADs made using music from this composer and they're always fantastically epic.

Yuzu is inconsistent. But so are most other men. I guess some are slightly less inconsistent than he is, but overall Yuzu isn't that much more inconsistent than other guys. However, what he is, is the man with the most pressure in the entire FS world, both by his country, his fans, the media, the FS community (Nathan might catch up in terms of the USA, though), etc. And the fact he is not any less consistent than most other men and gets the kind of results he does while having the most pressure heaped on him does prove something. What I like about Yuzu is for all the mistakes he might have in a program, what he does right, he does magnificently. Reason why he can still score 200+ points for a FS with 2 pops.

Oh, I quite like this. I do think for next season he should probably stay away from the Swan motif again, but who knows for the 2018/2019 season?

Actually, I think it's mostly that NHK/GPF 2015 fried people's brains so nowadays their perceptions of Yuzu and what he can do or has done is always going to be measured over against those two glorious weeks. Edited to english properly.

Ah, Etude, the precursor to H&L. My favorite part of this costume is probably the way the top half asymmetrically meets the waistline. It accentuates how slim and elegant he is. That and the awesome mesh black sleeve. I do feel like Yuzu would fill the Etude costume a lot better nowadays, if he were to wear it again. Etude gala EX at Olys next season, y/y?

I love the Yuzu smileys but I think it might be best if they were just the slightest bit smaller? The embarrassed!swan one is particularly huge in comparison. Also, I bet now Yuzu will be all whenever he enters TCC and sees that plaque. Finally!

For Yuzu, I think the color schemes/patterns of the 1st, 5th, 10th and 11th might look amazing (with a bit more bling, of course).
