  1. I already liked Kolyada, he has such an interesting charm, but after his EX at WTT I can't help but love him a little. That was such a outside-the-box EX program. Plus his 4Lz (pls land it soon!) is such an amazing jump.
  2. It's not surprising most of the talk about the Japanese Team revolves around the ladies, because they have so much talent there and coming in from juniors as well. However, the men seem to have reached a void; after Yuzu and Shoma, there doesn't seem to be any major contenders to take over the mantle after them. Sota Yamamoto was apparently the hope for the future of men but he's been off the radar due to injuries (he was at the JOC camp, though, so good news!?) but if due to his injury troubles he doesn't recover to the condition he was in before, is there any other hopeful young juniors/novices in the men's discipline? Any the JSF might throw their main support at in the future? This is the list of men being supported by the JSF for the coming season, by the way: MEN Special Yuzuru Hanyu Shoma Uno Keiji Tanaka Takahito Mura A Ryuju Hino Kazuki Tomono Shu Nakamura Koshiro Shimada Hiroaki Sato Mitsuki Sumoto B Sena Miyake Tatsuya Tsuboi Sei Kawahara Taichi Honda Yuto Kishina Kazuki Hasegawa Taichiro Yamakuma Sota Yamamoto Daisuke Murakami (Source)
  3. I'm in the minority too, but that's because I'm not a fan of tango in FS and I'm quite obstinate... Haha It's just that lady screaming in his music was quite shocking lol I got used to the lady screaming by the end but it did annoy me early on.
  4. I thought after he finally won worlds (again) now I can watch Seimei Boston (never watched it yet) but apparently I still can't Oh, I can't see that either, I saw it live on TV and it was more then enough... If I want to see SEIMEI I watch NHK 2015 version and I'm all set. This gifset comparison between the Boston FS and Helsinki FS has been the only time I've actually watched anything related to Boston Seimei.
  5. Good question... ---------- whole post While we can't get the Like button, this will have to do.
  6. It's... complicated. Things happened, the FF was closed for 'maintenance' and people decided to find a new home. You can talk about it more in this thread.
  7. There's a group of people going through the old GS media thread to organize it and bring the contents back to this forum, including the occasional practice video. Hopefully things will start to get posted soon. Meanwhile, if anyone remembers any links or has saved any, they're welcome to post them here. It's the off-season, we probably aren't going to get new info on Yuzu any time soon, so let's reminisce! (about everything but Boston, please)
  8. Shoma has this ability to really change when he's on the ice. He's so awkward outside of it but when he's starting a program, he projects this intensity that, while it can be a bit one note (intense is mostly what we can say about it after all), is still very effective, especially with his FS this season. Also, it's interesting to see how he can turn into a cocky little shit mid-program after landing his quads and I love that (his expression at 4CC, for example). I think Shoma's greatest strength is what he does with his arms and upper body; that's where he channels most of his choreography and it's effective because he really knows how to work with the music. I'll probably never really love his jumps and the landings will mostly always scare me a bit, but there's no denying he and his team know how to make effective and lovely choreographed programs that bring out his strengths. Aside from Shoma, there's been no more news from Team Japan's front in terms of program/music choices?
  9. Japan needs only one more discipline to be qualified for the Team event; they then can invite the missing discipline to participate only in the Team Event. So if Kana Muramoto/Chris Reed make the qualification round at Nebelhorn, Japan will have enough points and disciplines to go to the Team Event, but then they'll have to qualify for the final, where only 5 or 6 teams will be. Not sure how that part works, though.
  10. This thread is going to be so unmanageable to my browser soon.
  11. Another two very useful blogs for: Wanting to learn to skate: http://soyouwanttolearnfs.tumblr.com/ Intro to Skating and Competition streaming links: http://soyouwanttowatchfs.tumblr.com/
  12. According to xeyra it just sends you an email? Yeah, that option basically just subscribes you to a thread you've posted in and then you get emails telling you when someone replies to those threads, not when someone quotes you. Even if you uncheck the option again, you'll still receive emails. You'll basically need to unsubscribe from the threads to stop receiving the emails (User Control Panel --> Manage Subscriptions)
  13. It's in "Other stuff". Thanks! Also, I just briefly checked the Kuyashii forum. Is the content there deleted or also moved? I think it just got deleted. It was a temporary home and best to just direct people here from there and it was probably easier to just delete everything except the link here.
  14. Maybe best to update the first post with banner size and deadline for the contest? Also, any specific text the banners need to say?
  15. Is Patrick really bringing in a 4F to Olympic season after only landing the 4S twice in the 2016/2017 season? While also adding the 4S to the SP? I feel like that was only a speculative insert of whatever journalist interviewed Patrick for that particular divisive article. I'm actually curious, though: was there ever any video of this 4F he used to train?
  16. Between the Russian ladies and the Japanese ladies nationals next season, it's going to be intense and tears are going to flow regardless because someone we like is likely to stay behind. Except Evgenia. Ain't no holding her back.
  17. She's not? What a shame! Did she said something? I thought I'd read it somewhere but now I'm backtracking through the sources I usually go through for Satoko and I can't find it anywhere anymore, so maybe it was just speculation I came across somewhere. Nevermind me, I do hope she keeps it because it was such an amazing program.
  18. What's wrong? Some icons decided to go on vacation Yeah, I just noticed once I got to the main board. As long as they haven't relocated to another planet....
  19. Suggestion: Change the name of the thread 'General News and Updates' to mention Yuzu somewhere so that people don't confuse it with general Forum news and updates. We need people to understand that's the go-to place for up-to-date Yuzuru news outside of the main general chat. If possible, that thread should also be pinned to other subforums, if there's any way to link it to them so it all directs to the same thread.
  20. What's wrong?
  21. I wonder how changed Shoma's 'Turandot' will be from the 2015/2016 season original, considering how different his layout is nowadays. Will there be any big changes in the choreography or only small ones to account for the quads, I wonder. I understand why they're not reusing this season's FS, though, since he already skated it to all its potential. I'm sad Satoko isn't going to keep her Planets FS. I think because of her missing the later half of the season she could have kept it, but I think she's getting completely new programs for next season.
  22. Bringing this back to Yuzu: Translation of the new P&G's interview (May 2017) by yuzusorbet @ tumblr.
  23. Oh, sorry! PLease don't ban me for being off-topic! I'll try not to report you. My finger is just twitchy.
  24. Yeah, things will be forgotten there once the thread is up. Most lurkers will probably only think it was taken down for maintenance as stated and not for some cleansing of 'off topic' posts. Edit: Anyways, let's try not to bring the GS issue into the main chat thread too much?
