    I doubt that it is only based on regional competitions. It's just politics/who comes from which skating club. With that score Shun would have medaled at every JGP events so far, and he could have easily won in Kaunas (the winner's score was 201, Yuto Kishina's score was 191) and in Ostrava too.

    It'd be the the perfect age to send him for JGPs to gain experience. At the age of 15-16 it might be too late. How many Japanese juniors have a quad and a good 3A at this age? He's also has good basics and he can perform a lot better than other skaters at his age (or even older), he is musical too. Honestly I don't undestand some decisions by JSF...

    Congratulations Shun! It's amazing that he landed the 4T and two clean triple Axels, one with a 3T. I wish he got the support he deserves...What a talent.

    It was the free skate. I think during practice the announcer said "duration of the music", which is really 4 min 18 seconds but the duration of the skating is fine, because he doesn't start moving in the first 8 seconds which doesn't count according to the rules. Plus it's allowed if the program is 10 seconds longer. So the duration of the skating in Origin is 4 min 10 seconds which is ok Here are the rules:

    Speaking of Shun, there's the Kanto Regionals this weekend. After the SP, Shun is currently 2nd with 72 points, Yuma Kagiyama is 1st with 77 points. Shun plans a 4S in his free skate and 2 triple Axels. I'm very disappointed that such talented skaters like Shun won't get a chance to compete at a JGP event. Is there a little chance that he could get a spot in Armenia? He's very promising and he's 14, it'd be the perfect time to send him to his first JGP events where he can gain experience and it's also important that judges get to know him. There were competitiors who are overall weaker and less consistent and they were sent to JGP events this season...

    Costumes usually look better in person because of the sparkles and the colours may be different from what we see on pictures. I love the colours for Otonal. I wrote earlier that to me, this song sounds melancholic and blue or some colder colours would go better with the music than any autumn colour. The colours remind me a bit of Korobeynikova's Otonal costume, for which she also wore icy blue with silver details: The details on the back are incredible, which I love a lot! But I also think from the front, the costume seem to be a bit short and without a belt his legs look even longer. As @Yatagarasu said there's not really a need to make him look longer because he is tall enough. I like how the Origin costume highlights his body lines, the shoulders and waist especially. The details on the costume are incredibly rich and beautiful looking, it must have taken hundreds of hours to make this costume. I also like the black gloves which are a bit see-through like the one he wore for RJ2 Very pretty!
