General Skating Chat

Judges draw for Europeans, 4CC, Junior Worlds and World Championships 2020: https://www.isu.org/docman-documents-links/isu-files/documents-communications/isu-communications/22396-isu-communication-2288/file No Japanese judge at Men or Ladies event at Worlds, only in Ice Dance. Judges draw at Men is very Western oriented. USA has judges in all four disciplines. Ladies at Worlds will have more judges from Eastern countries (or Central European) that other disciplines, especially compared to the Men.- 6,825 replies

What will be Yuzuru Hanyu's EX program for the 19/20 season?
sallycinnamon replied to Henni147's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
HYK or Crystal Memories, but he may have a completely new program too I voted for Haru Yo Koi though because he didn't have many possibilities to skate to it last season.- 65 replies

Hey guys, we made a new thread for the ISU Announcement and all the posts have been moved here: Later - before each event - we'll get more info about which countries will be geoblocked from streaming etc so we can keep the discussion in one place!
-
Good news, streaming on YouTube will make the Grand Prix series, Europeans, Four Continents and Worlds more available to fans worldwide. The press release doesn't mention if it's free, I hope it'll be like it is with the Junior GP events. I also hope they'll have an archive and they'll upload all videos after the events. I wonder if the stream will have commentary if they'll stream without it. I'd be happy for the latter but it's possible ISU will provide English speaking commentary, we'll see it soon. Europeans and Worlds are usually broadcasted on the national TV channel in my country so if they have the broadcasting rights for this season then I'll be able to watch those two competitions on TV. If not, I can watch all competitions on Youtube.

Team we're fewer but still good!
sallycinnamon replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Igloo World: Team Other Skaters
If she really can't bend forward then I don't understand why she did a Biellmann at Shanghai Trophy...sigh. And she barely has any time to prepare for her GP events because Skate America will be her first event. Why Hungary? Do you like some skaters from there? -

Yes, she was - and it won't be surprising if she also favors her own skaters if we see her at big ISU championships this season.- 6,825 replies

2019/2020 Senior Ladies
sallycinnamon replied to Deliverpooh's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
Young has big scoring potential if she lands the 3A consistently, otherwise she'll have a harder time. The news about Lilbet's injury is a bit concerning, I don't know how she'll do in the coming season. -
Junior Skaters of 2019/20 Season
sallycinnamon replied to sallycinnamon's topic in Igloo World: Team Other Skaters
We have one JGP left but there are already many who qualified for the Junior Grand Prix Final, ladies and men will be pretty exciting in the last GP event, Egna! Pairs: JGP Croatia was the last one so we have the 6 qualifiers for the JGPF: 1. Apollinariia PANFILOVA/Dmitry RYLOV (RUS) - 30 2. Kseniia AKHANTEVA/Valerii KOLESOV (RUS) - 28 3. Iuliia ARTEMEVA / Mikhail NAZARYCHEV (RUS) - 28 4. Diana MUKHAMETZIANOVA / Ilya MIRONOV (RUS) - 24 5. Annika HOCKE/Robert Kunkel (GER) - 22 6. Alina PEPELEVA/Roman PLESHKOV (RUS) - 20 Ice Dance: The following couples have qualified so far: 1. Avonley NGUYEN/Vadim KOLESNIK (USA) - 30 2. Elizaveta SHANAEVA/Devid NARYZHNYY (RUS) -30 3. Maria KAZAKOVA/Georgy REVIYA (GEO) - 28 4. Loicia DEMOUGEOT/Theo Le MERCIER (FRA) - 26 5. Diana DAVIS/Gleb SMOLKIN (RUS) - 26 Khudaiberdieva/Filatov will skate at JGP Egna, if they win, they'll get 15 points and will qualify (they already have 15 points). Ladies: So far these skaters have qualified: 1. Kamila VALIEVA (RUS) - 30 2. Alysa LIU (USA) - 30 3. Haein LEE (KOR) - 30 Daria Usacheva has 26 points, Ksenia Sinitsyna and Yeongjeong Park have 13, Frolova and Rino Matsuike have 11. Men: Tally so far: 1. Andrei MOZALEV (RUS) - 30 2. Yuma KAGIYAMA (JPN) - 28 3. Daniil SAMSONOV (RUS) - 26 4. Shun SATO (JPN) - 26 5. Artur DANIELIAN (RUS) - 26 Those who'll compete in Egna have: 15 point (Gumennik), 11 points (Yablokov, Grassl) First tie-breaker is a gold medal, second tie-breaker is the highest combined scores for both events, so Shun is pretty safe (wiki says he qualified). @madraykin compiled the possibilites for JGP Egna (thank you): (I am really bad at math so correct me if I have written anything wrong. Thank you in advance) -
We have an event thread for JGP Croatia where we discussed the juniors yesterday including Shun He has a good chance to qualify for JGPF but he hasn't qualified yet? It'll depend on some skaters at JGP Egna next week.

Because that's the same 80s aerobic class style Though Javi's program is better even if it is an EX Honestly I don't like the program at first sight, it seems the weakest RD from the top couples we've seen so far. And as much as I always want them to try something different, and they do that, the difference in quality between Gabriella and Cizeron becomes even more evident, Cizeron is the one to watch on the ice, Gabriella is plain in comparison , she is not on his level...sorry. Maybe Ice Dance is going to be more interesting this season (or I just wish so...).
