  1. Yes they're both practicing 4S and Jason already had it in the free skate last season but couldn't land a clean one yet. He rotates slowly so it'll be big if he manage to land a 4S, not sure if we will see any other quad from him though. I'll be very happy for her if her triples come back at competition and she will be able to consistently land them but I think it'll take time. It's nice to see that she feels motivated to try 3A at practice though.
  2. He can skate to Otonal, there is no such rule that wouldn't allow him to recycle both programs from last season. We only have a few days left until we find out his programs and we'll see him again soon! A new SP would be really nice but I find it possible that he might recycle both Otonal and Origin, which would also be good because he didn't have that many opportunities to skate to them last season, and I know he'd do a great job with them this year too. Somehow this summer the drought didn't feel that bad...ok, the last few days or weeks we have been watered enough (thanks to 24h TV, Citizen and Ghana ) maybe that's why I feel it this way. Or I am just really hyped that ACI is starting so soon! Anyway, I wish lots of fun to all satellites who're going to Oakville soon, I hope you all will be cheering for Yuzu a lot!
  3. Thread for the Russian Test Skates is open
  4. I really thought it'd be something big but they just announced the new name of their skating school which is Ice Academy of Montreal
  5. There's an almost 10-min. long behind the scenes video! Edit: Longer version:
  6. Omg, it's like Pez dispenser except that it's Ghana! I need one!
  7. Joseph Phan's role model is Yuzu https://www.inthelopodcast.com/news/2019/9/2/interview-joseph-phan
  8. Sad news. It explains then why she WD from Lombardia then. I wonder if we'll see at Shanghai Trophy. Get better soon Lilbet!
  9. As expected, Mai withdrew from Lombardia Trophy. Get better soon! https://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20190902-00000070-dal-spo
  10. I think it's easier to have everyone in the team at the same place, so it's more likely that Team TCC would stay in the official hotel too. Staying at a hotel near to the arena may also help them focus on the competition more, and it's also more convenient for security reasons. As far as I know, in general it's more common for athletes not to stay at home in such cases.
  11. He didn't mention it but it is probably the reason why he doesn't do any Challengers either. Hopefully he'll stay healthy during the whole season! The way he tells stories is funny...I laughed about the Andy one a lot!: In other news, there'll a public press conference that'll be held by Dubreuil, Lauzon and Hagenauer. I wonder what they'll talk about? Seems like some big announcement.
  12. I don't like it when they use so much filter on his pictures, it's unnatural and he really doesn't need it...I barely recognised his face on the pic with the pink costume.
  13. I was looking forward to her new programs. Sad to hear that she won't be competing this season.
  14. Yuzu looks gorgeous in the Citizen pictures I am glad they released some pictures that are not heavily photoshopped, his face is beautiful and and his skin is so good he doesn't need so much filters anyway. Thanks to the translators, it's a great video. Max says so many things that I agree with.
  15. https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/stories/news/detail/evgenia-medvedeva-ambassador-russia-tokyo-2020/ - Zhenya hasn't landed 4S yet but she's been practicing it - Brian thinks Memoirs of a Geisha is her best program so far - Her new role as an ambassador of the Russian Olympic Team in Tokyo won't interfere with her training - She's learning Japanese with a teacher
  16. Two Challenger entry lists are up: Nepela Memorial: http://www.isuresults.com/events/fsevent03111905.htm Kolyada, Samarin, Aliev, Rizzo, Mitsuki, Deniss in the men, Kaori, Mako, Trusova, Konstantinova, Sotskova in the ladies and Sinitsina/Katsalapov, Hurtado/Khaliavin in ID. Pretty good list! Nebelhorn Trophy: http://www.isuresults.com/events/fsevent03111907.htm Jason Brown, Nam, Han Yan, Koshiro, Julian, in the men, Marin Honda, Yelim, Dabin, Bell in the ladies, the biggest name in pairs is Moore-Towers/Marinaro, some bigger names in ID too (Hawayek/Baker, Smart/Diaz etc).
  17. Lakernik clarified some things in this new interview: https://rsport.ria.ru/20190826/1557921557.html ,
  18. I'm quoting this first interview with Lakernik here from August last year because that's when he talked about the technical vs artistic program in more details. At that time he talked about this as a possible change, now he says the possibility of introduction of the system is very high. He talked about some other things too in that interview. He says lots of things how judging should look like ideally but in reality it is not what happens. I also don't see how the new system would keep that good balance of technique and art, which is essential of a good program in his opinion too. They talk about some problems at seminars/webinars when it comes to judging, so they know the problems exist but then things don't change at competitions. The accountability of judging is almost non existent because that's how the system works now, even if judging is not anonymous anymore. That's a big problem, the other is that many still have a way of thinking of the 6.0 system which would require to educate the officials properly (there are big differences in the federation regarding education and experience of judges but after all it is ISU's responsibility to have properly trained officials at international competitions) . The dependency of judges from their own federations is also a problem because it puts pressure on them. I am not too optimistic about the future it they remain not accountable for their work then things will barely change. The sport will lose interest and many fans. These big changes would be after Beijing.
  19. Hey, we have a broadcast thread for 24H TV I don't know when Yuzu's segment will be, maybe in the evening (JST) but we'll find out. You can comment here when the time comes!
  20. until
This is the event of the TV Broadcast of 24H TV on NTV. The discussion thread can be found here. Pre-show from 15.30 JST, 24H TV begins at 18.30 and Yuzuru's part will around 20.30.
  21. In a new interview with Lakernik he talked a bit about the -5/+5 GOE change, chances of the introduction of the artistic vs technical program, and that at next year's Congress they'll propose to bring back the qualifying rounds at World Championships and Olympic Games. http://moksz.hu/mukorcsolya/magyarorszagnak-igen-jok-az-eselyei IDK, if there's a four or five points difference GOEs in judging for the same element, or that it's very often tied to BV and they're lenient with some skaters, too strict with others means that no everyone got used to the new system...? The number of quads didn't really get lower if we consider the numbers in %. He didn't talked about that though... Also it seems from his wording that they really want to implement the new technical vs artistic program system.
  22. Ah, he looks so good He makes me want to buy that watch asap Though he doesn't need this much retouching, his face is just perfect with beautiful skin, so if the photos looked more natural it'd be even better. I always like these kinds of photos of him too but to be honest, Kose did a wonderful job when they used skating photos of him - to me he looks the most beautiful when he's on the ice
  23. So far we have the entry lists of the Challengers that will be mid-September: ACI: http://www.isuresults.com/events/fsevent03111900.htm US Classic: http://www.isuresults.com/events/fsevent03111903.htm Lombardia Trophy: http://www.isuresults.com/events/fsevent03111902.htm Zhenya will be very busy because there's test skate on 7-8 Sept in Russia, then she goes to ACI a few days later, and in the beginning of October, there's Shanghai Trophy. I am sure she won't do Nebelhorn if she goes to ACI, she goes to one Challenger event before the GP series.
  24. He sent a message too? It's in the newspaper:
