    Very surprised to read the news, I didn't see this coming either. I don't know how realistic Beijing can be for them, Takahashi is already 33 (will be 34/35 in their first season) and Kana switched to Ice Dance also quite late, when she was already in her 20s. This partnership will probably generate much interest in ice dance in Japan in the next few years though.

    I was very happy to see his triple Lutz back too. I am not sure if it is the most beautiful jump ever because there are too many to choose from But it was definitely worth +5 GOE, it was textbook perfect.

    Anna Tarusina has announced her retirement. https://rsport.ria.ru/20190925/1559111487.html She won Alpen Trophy (Challenger event) last year, got two silver medals at the JGP Circuit and finished 8th at Russian nationals. She had a bus accident three years ago and had been struggling with injuries - most recently with a knee injury - since then. I will miss her skating and was looking forward to see her skating this season. I wish her all the best in her civil life.

    No. If the ISU Congress votes for the change next summer then it'll be implemented after the Beijing Olympics, not before that. In the last interview with him about the changes, Lakernik seemed to be suspiciously positive that the members will vote for it.

    Yes, my camera can do slow motion video too. I was thinking about the right hand side of the judges on the opposite side, but probably I'll watch videos of these skaters and have a look where they jump most of their jumps. ETA: I checked the videos and most of them jump on the left of judges side (Aliev's 4Lz, 4T-3T, Kolyada's 4T, Samarin's 4Lz + bonus Trusova's 4Lz, too) so it's better to sit there then.

    I can take some videos this coming weekend, of Kolyada, Samarin, Aliev, Rizzo, if that's ok (if there are requests of others as well, tell me). I can sit anywhere in the arena so I have to find the best angle for jumps.
