As far as I know, Alena is asymptomatic, the infection happened quite by accident. My husband talked to her, but he passed four tests and they are all negative. Sergey Aleksandrovich Rozanov (coach of Plushenko Academy) also passed four tests, all tests are also negative. We ourselves were shocked when we learned that Alena was sick. The only change is that she has no sense of smell for the second day.

Today the guys received their third negative test for coronavirus, but they still cannot resume training. The temperature of both does not drop, the doctors have not yet made an accurate diagnosis, but there is a suspicion of a strong ARVI. As for participation in the Russian championship, everything is very suspended, we are constantly in touch with Alexander Gorshkov and Alexander Kogan. There is hope, but if it is harmful to their health, of course, I will not let them go anywhere.

Until the doctors give the go-ahead for her [Boikova] to return to training, she has not yet recovered, but she has no covid, this is a cold. We will follow the instructions of the experts and wait until she receives admission. Therefore, the couple is not training yet.

Unfortunately, I have to confirm my pass for the Russian Championship. This is our decision. This season is probably the most difficult when it comes to health. In the fall, I had back problems. Severe pain, because of which I missed more than a month of training. I had to spend a lot of time in clinics. After my back felt better, and I just started to enter the training regime, I became very sick. I missed most of November and the beginning of December due to illness, and was admitted to the hospital with serious lung damage. Now I am more or less healthy, but I only came out on the ice on December 8th. The doctors recommended that I train in a gentle mode. In fact, I have two weeks to prepare for the Russian Championship, in such circumstances and with the recommendations of doctors - it's impossible. I understand that I let my fans down, but such is the life of an athlete. This is the sixth season in adult figure skating for me, and probably the hardest. We will work to keep everything going well. I'd like to go out on the ice as soon as possible!

:crazyshit: I hope she makes a full recovery. So many reports are coming out now of people who take months to get better...at least she's able to skate.

Hindsight is 20-20 and she may not have had the option, but I wonder if she would have been better off staying in Toronto...:(
