Does anyone think he'll bother with Worlds or will he just retire at the Olympics?

Depends on how he does at Olys I think but I now I lean towards skipping Milan.

I think so, too. :13877886:

I hope he goes to worlds to help get some spots for next  year, but so many skaters talk about that post Olympic let down... especially ones that are pretty much in it only for Olympic medals/experience etc.. He might just end it there. TBH, you can expect anything from Patrick... how he feels changes constantly.

:tumblr_inline_mqt4grU8ua1qz4rgp: what gave you that idea?

Because I haven't heard anything weird from him recently.

But then again, I don't really keep up to date with all the PChiddy news ^^;

Oh, he's been at it very recently! He's the last technical and artistic skater left, dontchaknow!

With a 2A.... kidding!

Since his comeback he’s gained the ability to move me. Up until this year, he kept improving. It’s a hard road.

He's the Michael Jordan of FS, basically.

That actually sounds delusional....:slinkaway:

Despite how great Yuzu is, all his titles like GOAT, prince, king etc are given to him by others, not self-declared. :facepalm:

He is never going to be cured of that but then, that is his downfall. He is so utterly convinced in his own superiority that so many have passed him by. In the end, it doesn't really matter as reality sorted it out.

This is so true. He still can't get over the fact that young skaters are improving their SS while having more difficult jumps. I would even say Yuzu is on par with him in terms of SS to. It's this mentality that has kept him as the underdog once he fell off the podium.

I don't think he'll go, no matter how his results are at Olympics. If he does well, he'll want to retire on a high note. If he doesn't do well, he's not the type to aim for a redemption skate.

And congrats Keegan!!! I'm so happy for him!!! Will he go to Pyeongchang and Milan? =D

No, I didn't know that! How could I have missed such an important piece of information!

Patrick is a life lesson in why you need to be careful to not overpraise children. Too much well-meaning but undeserved praise can backfire and, instead of creating a confident adult, you end up with an insecure narcissist. Confident people never make the kind of comments about themselves that Patrick does.

:clap::clap::clap:

Comparing him to Plushenko or Takahashi...Both Plushenko and Takahashi were really great during their prime, but they handled the rise of younger skaters who surpassed them very well. They understand that it's good for the sport to keep advancing, and that the new wave of younger skaters do not negate their legacies. I'm sure Yuzu will do the same too when he's in a similar situation in future.

Overall a good men's LP event, which is quite rare this season. Elladj had the best performance for me. Keegan skated well to, love that backflip after the FS. Patrick skated better than I expect, although most of his jumps are tight and no 3A. His skating is beautiful but I feel like something is missing, the spark and the confidence to go for the jump. I feel sad when I watch this perf even though its much better than the SP.

I dont find the problem with Patrick's comment. To me, he use Michael Jordan as a reference that even the greatest made mistake, you have to look at what hedid and archived and that's the highlight of his career. He did not compare himself with Michael. But then again, Its better not to mention about Michael Jordan :slinkaway:

The Canadians have more of a growth mindset, building up their skaters and their program. It IS saccharine, but it seems productive.

If Nam and Keegan was switched. My predictions for the men’s would be right. :10636614:

I was really rooting for Nam. But at least he got on the podium.

But Keegan going to the Olympics like I wanted. :tumblr_inline_n18qrbDQJn1qid2nw:
