[2017/18] European Championships - Pairs and ID SP & FS + Gala

When Yuzu won in Helsinki, the arena went crazy. Before the ceremony. And we  did not go crazy because Javi lost, but because it became clear that Yuzu would be on the podium.

I want to give the russian fans this benefit of doubt.

I actually went back and rewatched the end of Javi's FS. well the difference is, the crowd went crazy AFTER/DURING the announcement of the winner. The crowd was not as loud as Javi's 4th place was announced, even though there were some cheers.

Everyone's welcome under the blankie if you have need of it.

I've just stress eaten a bowl of spaghetti :dpooh:

Why is watching competitions so depressing... You think it will be all nice and fun, and then bam! you are suddenly all depressed, sad and salty :tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid:

The difference is day and night.....

About the audience today, I feel, the problem is it was mostly Russian audience. It's only my personal opinion, but I feel like our audience is patriotic in the first place and loving and appreciating the figure skating in the second place. Sure, a lot of true figure skating fans were there today, but in general the tickets are cheap, people come with children, relatives and friends. I was sitting in the top where the majority of people didn't know the appearance of the top skaters, really. Not speaking about the technical stuff. People come to see the show and they are happy when people with our national flag win (me too). Yes, they could be more polite, but they just didn't think about the amount of work skaters put in those few minutes of performing. But in general it is still a supportive and kind audience.

I don't doubt it was and it showed too, previously. But at this particular point in the Pairs event, their cheering just felt like salt rubbing on a wound after the scoring issues and J/C having the kind of skate I knew would lose them the silver (gold was a bust after T/M's score) and ended up losing them the bronze too. I understand why they did it but I'm also annoyed at it.

Life is calling  I think, today I will only make it for the last group of dancers and for men. :13877886:

Just started to watch - I must be a masochist

that would have been a perfectly nice costume without all that fringing

You'll save yourself the headache of 7 groups of chachacha.

I'm here! Lemme preface that in light of what happened to Vanessa & Morgan yesterday, I will riot if Anna & Luca gets robbed in their last Europeans... :angrypooh:
