That was great - nice and fast 🤞🏻

 thinking of giving up on pairs and ice dance.

2 3 4 is very close :10636614: Hoping anna and luca will take silver but I'm loving stepanova bukin more and more so either will please me

Lol his reaction! Made me laugh. I thirougly enjoyed their performance. Such an exciting couple

P/C had such obvious mistakes on twizzles . Even for my untrained eye. That 81-ish  score is ridiculous....

They had level 3 on the twizzles but the other scores are huge so.. I think one of the step got max GOE of 3,0 when they showed it on the screen? That's quite something

yeah , that too *major  facepalm* I'm not  that  knowledgeable  in  ID to question  the  placements, and  they are  , probably right ,but  this looks  more like  a coronation than  an  actual competition to me

I've got a question, people said that P/C have unequal skating skills. Is that true? If yes, who's better and how?

Papadakis and Cizeron are very talented, skilled skaters, and they are one of the two best ice dancer couples of our times, but they have not unequal skating skills. They are masters of fluidity, gliding beautifully, which comes out best in their free dances, but Gabriella is visibly weaker than Guillaume in skating skills, and it should show in their scores and not constantly give them 9.50 and recently, 9.75 on SS. Their twizzles, and especially their lifts could be more difficult and I think they still lack sharpness and most of all, versatility.

They burst into the scene with their extraordinary Mozart free dance in 2014/15 very quickly, but since then, their free dances have too much similarity to their Mozat FD in both artistry and technique. They improved in some ways, yes, but overall they have mastered only this fluid, airy skating....besides, they still have lots of techniqual aspects in which they could (and should) improve like better knee work for Gabriella, more precision in foot placement, more variety and difficulty, and as I said, lifts or twizzles too.

I really hope they'll stick around for other four years at least and show us more versatility, challenge themselves a bit more and try different styles in their FDs because they're very talented. Guillaume is a fantastic dancer on the ice, probably the best in the current field :13877886:

Who's better than them?

Overall I find Tessa and Scott better in skating skills (too, but in other components as well). Tessa and Scott are equally strong skaters in skating skills, both of them are on exceptionally high level  In every aspects...like multi-directional skating, one foot skating, use of deep edges etc. Their balance, knee work is fantastic, and they are extremely precise in everything they do. I also think their use of power and speed are much better than P/C's. ...

They are just so complimentary to each other, I feel that they are perfectly matched. For example, if you look at their twizzles in slow-motion, you can see that they are in incredible synchron with each other. I think they are amazing performers too, they are athletic but very expressive and artistic at the same time.

They transformed ice dance ten years ago and not only continued to skate after they won Olympic gold medal in Vancouver, but they constantly reinvented themselves and showed versatility since then, too. Which is very brave and challenging...

Tessa and Scott also haven't finished a competition off the podium for 10 years now, last time they were 4th at GPF 2008... Their consistency an the highest level of ice dance makes them one, if not the best couples of all time.

@sallycinnamon

Thank you. I have no knowledge of ID in any way, but I did suspect it was Papadakis that is weaker. She is very expressive and that somewhat has the same effect on the judges as Uno's intensity in masking what they lack; the excessive two footed skating for Uno, and apparently the weaker skating skills for Papadakis.

As for the judging, yeah. Weren't judges supposed to scores based on the weaker of the pair? But then. I feel stupid everytime I expect judging to make sense.

So with ID they have to stick to a theme for the short and can do whatever for the free?

I don’t really watch ID but I’m awake and waiting for the ladies.
