My friends are writing a draft to be shared, this is one part of their big post:

---------

Actually, Boyang skated back to back clean SP and LP in Helsinki. I thought he did the same in 4CC 2016, but he get negative GOE on 1 element in FS.

I agreed with you about the rest. They keep paint Yuzuru with the whole inconsistent talk but consistency is not a thing exits in men's field Javi never skate 2 clean programs in a comp as far as I remember. I dont think its fair to use Yuzu's back to back clean comp aka NHK/GPF15 is the standard for consistency. Its special because we rarely see 4 clean performances in a row in the men's fields. Even with the ladies, just a few can do that.

What Yuzuru did at COR is better than I expected. I used to worry about the layout in 2nd half, but after his LP, I quite confident he can do it. Better timing, better stamina and he will get there. The 2 quad in 1st half is a bigger problem. But last year at skate canada he fell on both 4lo and it get better as the season goes, so I'm not panic yet.

What's going on now is not new. People always write him off at the beginning of the season. When he's not win, suddenly he become a headcase and 74938023 skaters can beat him soon. Before GPF 2013, some even thought he couldn't make the Olympic team . The same old thing just repeated and I wont waste time to argue with . Even Yuzu and Brian know its pattern, they have been through it for years so they know how to deal with it.

Ehhem, I would like Stephane, Kikuchi and Brian to all be in the same area next time. We might see a 3-men group hug. Or a jump combination attempt and a choreographic sequence sync up courtesy of Brian and Stephane-now all we need is a coach who likes to mimic spin combos when by the boards.

Also, Brian, a spiral requires a straight leg-Yuzu, please coach your coach a bit on the proper holding of a spiral.

I think the current definition of clean is not right...if Yuzu's NHK/GPF 15 is called clean back to back, then none of the following programs can be called the same. The true clean program should not have any iffy landings or similar issues. H&L in 17WC is a true clean program.  Nathan's national is not. maybe this expectation is too high lol:knc_brian3:

Hope the inconsistency talk won't be similar to the no transition talk in previous olympics season for Plushy...

It is kind of interesting to see this at the beginning of each season... or every time Yuzu loses...Can't wait for a WR to shut them up.

Yeah we are at really following the pattern...:tumblr_inline_ncmifaymmi1rpglid:

lol they wont. " He peak too soon, He already maxed out"  talk is up next  Thing will become uglier as the season goes, I hope Yuzu fans can stay away from nonsense/trash media as much as we can.

I cant believe we're not gonna see him in UA and practice anytime soon :tantrum:. I know Jpn media will give lots of reports, but nothing can compare to the feeling to see it live and the live tweet/report. I still remember my timeline explored when he landed the 1st perfect 4lz

/Off topic : The same thing is happening to my kpop bias now. Lots of bashing when they didnt have successful comeback and people used their name to PR others. When will all my faves get the respect they deserve *sigh*/

You know you've been a fan for too long when you can predict media headlines.

Boyang has one or two scratchy landings in the WC 2017. That’s why I don’t think of his performance as squeaky clean either.

Once i mentioned in a comment thread on Facebook (big mistake, i know) that i liked Yuzuru Hanyu and a girl simply replied "He's not that good, he falls a lot"

Many skaters fall a lot, but how many can fall in tune with the music (e.g. R&J 1.0)?  Or make it look like it's choreographed? (Notte Stellata)

I'm already tired of those comments whenever I say my fave Yuzu. It's always the same "he falls a lot" or "he don't do a lot of quads" or "his ss isn't that great" and my most dispised one is "he is overrated".   :waffle:

Yup, Yuzu is so overrated...he has broken the WR only 12 times, won GPF 4 years in a row and won 2 World Championships...:waffle:

Watching it live is just not the same!

And if they're worrying about peaking too soon, I would think Shoma and Nathan are more likely to have that issue. Although Lombardia gives scores like candy, Shoma still scored extremely high. Since they have less experience with the senior season, I hope they pace themselves well. It'll be awesome to have a clean-ish Olympics with Yuzu emerging as the champion decisively. :tumblr_inline_n18qr5lPWB1qid2nw:

I was (still am) travelling when yuzu was performing *cries*, but i'm so happy he landed the 4Lz! that save tho :tumblr_inline_n18qr5lPWB1qid2nw:

This season I have good feelings that Yuzuru won’t peak too early.

Its still clean jumps and he got all positive GOE. Yuzuru's 4S in NHK15 SP and both his quad combo in these 2 events did not have perfect landing either.
