R&J2 just works for me - I like the busy top because the pants are plain black - I like the lace, the jewelled edges, the asymmetry, and I love the ombré sleeves and black gloves and the jewelled strapping on the right arm.  I don't even mind the boobskirt though it would still work without it.

Yesterday I rewatched Olympic R&J2 just out of curiosity and after a long time. And I actually liked everything, even the costume. Of course there were those falls, but my overall impression wasn't bad at all. It wasn't a winning perfomance, but it wasn't a disaster either. The costume is still questionable for me but I can't deny he looks beautiful in it.

And it glitters so much when you see it at the rinkside- you miss the effect most of the time on TV - probably why they go overboard with the rhinestones

SEIMEI was designed by Satomi Ito (check out her website and instagram, her work is quite amazing!). I suspect the Swan too judging by the similarities with other swan costumes she designed. LGC was also done in Japan, but I still haven't managed to track them down.

Isn't she the one who did Shoma's LOCO and Marin R&J and Smile and also Satton EX ?? I'm just in love with her works recently :BeatingHeart:

Judging by her Instagram she designed all these costumes. And the closeups are amazing, you can't really appreciate the amount of work they required in TV broadcasts.

Btw who designed H&L costume?

what I would give to know...

Satomi Ito's costumes are one of the most intricate in the field. I follow many designers and I must say that her beadwork is unparalleled.

And yes, she did all three Locos, Marin's costumes, and many others - sadly she doesn't showcase them all on social media.

I also have this suspicion that she did sparkly lettuce too.

Nothing but a suspicion though.

And I love sparkly lettuce.

if she did yuzu's costumes, it's hard to imagine that she would not put it on the social media, it would be such good publicity

Yeah, it's a fancy design house from Tokyo who made his last two season's costumes, I read it back in GS, :coffee:

Oooh, I'd love to know who they are. H&L and Etude are so beautiful. If I ever have any occassion to be outrageous, I'd like to commission those designers.

Not necessarily. She did many costumes for prominent skaters (also during her time at Chacott) but we either found it out from the skaters themselves or other sources. We only know that she did SEIMEI because of the documentary and she doesn't really advertise the fact that she designed it. It's possible that Yuzu wants the designer to remain a mystery or maybe she just has an agreement with Marin and Shoma to showcase their costumes in her dossier.

Would you happen to know where I could watch that documentary? I remember seeing footage of a Seimei fitting but don't remember where.
