I understand that but I still thought she'd at least try two quads even if she falls and << from both of them.

I mean, it wasn't necessary to get on the podium, now was it?

which is honestly a joke considering the other girls landed their quads and had comparable components

Sorry but I almost fell asleep during Kamila's skate. ._.

No offense intended to anybody.

Not surprising. It's basically over 4 minutes of exactly the same thing on repeat without any highs and lows, slow and fast parts, no build-up, no climax.

This is just like a big joke really ... just gave Valieva the OGM and we all can watch something else ... ridiculous ...

I revise my opinion to: Kamila would deserve the OGM with a different and better program. She has very little connection to this one. Granted not sure I'd say anyone else is good enough to deserve it over her.

WHY IS THIS PROGRAM SO BAD

The Beijing ladies' figure skating "competition" will be the most boring and predictable Olympic skating comp ever. If you bet on Kamila for gold and three Russians on the podium you'll get back the exact amount of money that you bet! :rofl2:

watching rusnats is like a watching a different sport than jnats lol. granted, I think the jnats women were lacking a bit of connection to the music today too because of the pressure, but the quality of skating was still significantly better overall.

two judges who gave 9.75 for Composition and Interpretation soon to voluntarily retire from judging

I'm beginning to think I've put more effort and care to be objective into my entirely inconsequential made up judging than they've ever put into judging their entire career

This is where I love Japanese ladies. They may jump easier stuff, but boy, do they perform!

And the Japanese ladies actually have real programs. And they actually skate to their music.

probably not. I think if Kamila's career dies only 2-3 years after her debut too there has to be a reckoning and they'll have to make some policy changes like increasing the age minimum. might be wishful thinking though

I'm afraid as long as those young quadsters who win every medal in every competition are produced in Russia like on an assembly line, it doesn't matter to them who it is that actually wins the medals. For Eteri, it only has to be her girls. For the Russian fed, it only has to be Russian girls. Who they are doesn't really matter. For Eteri and the fed, the girls are easily replaceable.

I am amazed by the technically difficulties but really have no interest to revisit any of these programs.

Anyone else noticed Sasha's skating skills are somehow even worse than Anna's this time. Also 3 out of 4 of her quads are under-rotated. Worried about her condition.

Bolero is better than before, but Valieva deserves a better Olympic program. But I guess "Russian Girls Jumping Quads" is more than adequate for the headlines, only silly people care about actual programs.

I feel like if I were a judge many skaters here would see at least a 10% drop in their PCS between the SP and the FS...

I was livestreaming this while I was at work (yes, I had to work on Christmas) and I just found Kamila's choreography laughable. The things she was doing with her arms made me laugh! Her scores (and Anna's) were outrageous. But Kamila's been destined to win the OGM so I sadly have to accept this is the way things are going to go in February...

10 for 3 of the 5 components :rofl3:

I came here just to say that and how ridiculous it was

My very predictable prediction is that Trusova will become an absolute sensation in Beijing. Girl in red coat -> girl in red tutu -> girl with red hair saga continues.
