eh Trusova to me is more "normal" in terms of components at least compared to russian ladies than Liza who just seems at times like she's an adult skater or something lol

Sasha has actually improved on components but that did not show up here, alas. The program makes Shoma's look complex. But BV skating is a valid strategy, so long as skaters don't get gifted PCS for something they didn't do...

Respect for Trusova. What a fighter she is. Happy for her. I have a soft spot for her despite the fact that I usually love skaters with the total package as opposed to just jumps. For some reason she works for me.

The guests  have left...so I can watch at least the last group. Based on how they skated today I think Trusova no doubt deserves to go to the Olympics.

wonder if she beats Anna

lol the tradition of the not-yet-senior skaters outjumping the senior skaters at russian nationals continues

Looks like we're not going back to a time when ladies didn't need quads to be competitive. Just hope it doesn't lead to an epidemic of short careers

I reall like Samodelkina. She's a bit different.  How nice to see a Russian female skater who has quads who isn't' coached by Eteri or choreo'd by Daniil.

younger skaters are inherently advantaged, alas. that's why Yuzu's longevity is itself crazy impressive

oh that was a very obvious flutz on replay

Anna has a 7-point lead and she'll get higher PCS too, it she more or less lands her jumps (including 2 quads) I think she'll probably beat Sasha. But it's just a guess.

yeah the non-Eteri skaters are putting on a really good showing here. Eteri is not a fan of this lol
