For science :hihi:

this is clearly relevant for figuring out the appropriate amount of muscle someone needs to land 4A. very scientific

Onto some more serious stuff

"According to the information from the locals, SOI seems to be variously dangerous. The audience seats are crowded with no vacant seats, there are many people talking in the lobby, and there seems to be no noticeable poster to prevent infection."

I love Yuzu, I do, and I miss the thirst, but the way SOI is being held, at least with handling the audience's safety, is NOT it

Well, two points of data isn’t really very much to go on. We’re going to need him to do LGC again. For science.

at least one LGC after every public showing of 4A progress. this is the only way to make it rigorous

no vacant seats = SOI clearly prioritized money over audience safety. urgh

I mean, they immediately posted the cancelled tickets for sale instead of re-shuffling the seatings to allow a seat in between every audience. It was clear where their priority was.

Now I just hope this whole SOI would end smoothly with no cases later.

May everyone, Yuzu especially, have fun, stay safe and stay healthy :smiley-angelic001:

Japan is really trying hard to prevent COVID doesn't exist huh, to justify holding the Olympics I guess?

What are the chances this doesn't become a COVID spreader :P

Off-topic but I think Japan is basically trapped with the way the Olympic contract was signed :( The poor thing really got the shorter end of the stick...

Regardless of that, it's not an excuse to hold a freaking ice show when SOE is being declared here and there, in such a careless way.

I've given up on them to make any sense of their covid strategy.

I sometimes see Japan praised for their strategy and excellent tracking, but they test far too little, and rn there are so many infections with unknown route. That's NOT how good tracking works. Compared to many other countries, especially in Europe and America, they did a lot better, but it feels like they've quietly been follwing a very similar strategy of "nothing to see here, if I don't test there won't be cases, and even if ICUs are full everything is under control, trust us!".

Obviously, interests in OG have been playing a role.

But the fact of no social distancing at SOI goes beyond that. I can't wrap my head around that crowd.

One can only pray that all attendees are truly healthy because if not then, no matter the masks, there are all the conditions for mass spread (to the athletes too, since they are obviously not wearing masks and pollutants get trapped on the rink at breathing level).

I feel the excitement for LGC, and I'm retweeting and sharing as everyone, but gosh this ever-present worry and bittereness for something that could have happened in an entirely different way...:/
