Don't rule out summer shows- Seimei is essentially part of Yuzu, so I think he'll show it sometime afterwards, even if never in competition again.

@Floria: Some of the warhorses are odd. Like Bolero-I can see it working for Ice dancing, but not that much for singles, so when people used it for singles, it always puzzled me. Same applies for Adagio. But whatever...Yuzu can skate to anything. With other skaters, "Oh no, not a warhorse again!" Says I. But when Yuzu skates to it, I know my reaction will be, "Here, take my heart, my soul, my everything." :13877886:

I'll accept any warhorse if Yuzu skates to it. Actually I already have a list of my favourite warhorses  for him

Ah, I think a lot of people (like me) who swear by H&L had the advantage of seeing H&L Worlds version first. I crammed my Yuzu-education during the off season after that, so I didn't see the earlier ones - like SC spin-fail lol - until after I had completely fallen for the perfect one, hook, line and sinker. Seimei is dramatic and gorgeous and I love how he gets into character so well, but if perfect H&L was what made you give up your soul to this skater you didn't even know existed before that... Well, lemme tell you, that's a life-altering experience.

Or we'll get a glimpse of his new programs for 2018-2019 :slinkaway:

Yup, I like this more. Makes me breathe some fresh air. PC isn't the end of everything. He HAS to stay for another season minimum and has to bring new programs. The only question is... what kind of Yuzuru will we see after PC?

Well he certainly won me over to Phantom- not sure I could cope if he took it into his head to do Tango de Roxanne- one has to draw the line somewhere.

Pish, Shae Lynn and Yuzu doing a program to Tango de Roxanne. Or maybe a version for short with Jeff. It'll be so good you will swear it is the only acceptable interpretation by a male skater for said music.

I agree with you abt Tango de Roxanne, but I'd love to see him doing a tango ... maybe Adios, Nonino ... I'm sure he would pull it through wonderfully ...

When perfect H&L in Helsinki is the first Yuzu' performance you've ever seen live and the first figure skating performance you've ever seen live, you have no choice, it takes you forever.

I’ll take SEIMEI music over H&L any day. Mainly because H&L feels badly edited to me, a strange mix of two different music pieces that I have been intimately familiar with for many years... both of which are gorgeous in their own right, but are just too mixed together to make sense to me because their own “identity” sort of disappears this way. I understand the “new” piece H&L should be seen as such, but it just never quite drew me in the way the original songs do.

That said, I do like H&L. It is still Hisaishi, after all.

I suppose that's the problem-you were familiar with pieces before, so you expected the next part and got something different, so it strikes dissonance (The  way I first heard 'just like fire' mixed with 'my sngs know what you did in the dark' and now the original feels weird for me  Same with 'Everybody wants to rule the world' there is no break for baby Yuzu proclaiming he'll get Olys gold, so it's too quick for me, even if I know it's original orz). Anyway, since I didn't know them before, when I at first listened to asian dream song I was prety shook at the heavy piano/ violin staccato line where it usually mixed with Sound of Silence. Now, I'm just amazed at the editor's ability to mix those two masterpieces into another one. You could say that Hisaishi unknowingly created three masterpieces instead of two.

I'm so jealous of people whose first experience/first LIVE experience was Helsinki...then again I probably wouldn't trade off my first ever solo stream party either...aaargh, the choices!

Also re:Warhorses, is it bad that I want him to go Yolo Romeo and Juliet 3 with Korzeniowski's music, or break the Tchaikovsky's curse? Or Prokofiev. Or 2011 versionLe rois du monde is sooo him-and has Japanese version!. Why there's so many R&Js out there  Aside of R&J, he's done POtO, Zigeunerweisen, Swan Lake (x2 even), what is there left? Turandot, Moulin Rouge, 12441341 tangos, Charlie Chaplin (oh God), something else?I'm not counting Bolero, though he COULD actually make that work

You need to join us for 2018 GPF.  Yuzu has a tendency to do relatively clean, if not GPF2015 style squeaky clean at GPFs. >_>

He did Moulin Rouge actually, the Bolero part.

Rachmaninoff, concerto no 2

ETA and any Chopin, of course. Nobody will ever skate to Chopin like him.

Nocturne no 20 if we are talking about warhorses.

There is actually the music topic for this, but I've been recently craving for him to do Listz's Liebestraum... It'd be perfect just like Chopin, that piece has the same softness and yet burning passion in the central passage... something in between Chopin and H&L, actually, in terms of delicacy and difficulty... He'd be like a dream dancing in front of your eyes...
