I'm pretty sure it will be broadcast though, since Yuzu is so popular in China (and Japan obviously). Also, it seems like Yuzuru is already working on a new program? (Not sure which interview this is from) I mean, it is obvious there is propaganda. But that aside, Yuzu is so adored in China they have to be super dumb not to get him at all costs. Link to comment
Figure_Frenzy
@YuDai move-wise? ofc it's propaganda. Content-wise, let's just see how much they put in the event — this is just my foolish naive thought, but they are smart enough to put it lightly at times (ie. don't always go hard with the propaganda) — this might be one of those times they'd tread lightly Link to comment

JanMary
re: the 50-year event 1. It is a non-governmental business event with a lot of big-company sponsors, including ANA, Toyota, Canon, JA, etc. 2. It is well known in Japan that China was very friendly to Yuzu in 22OG and he has a lot of fans in China. 3. In general Chinese people like him a lot. The propaganda system also treats him well (until now). 4. Yuzu also participated in similar events between Japan and Canada and Spain. I think Yuzu is smart and he just wants to return his thanks to 22OG and CFanyus. I think he will be fine. Link to comment

Henni147
Hi everyone. After another break I wanted to leave a short update. The situation is still difficult, but rehab is going well, and I'm hopeful. Exciting news from the wiki frontline: If the Olympic seasons sub-page gets a pass for FA class, we can finally nominate Yuzu's page series (bios, Oly seasons and career achievements) for a featured topic. And this is a really big thing: Yuzu would become the first athlete on English Wikipedia with an own featured topic across all sports! Pro or amateur, winter or summer, team or individual, male or female. Literally the first ever. Not even athletes like Ronaldo, Federer, Hamilton or Michael Jordan have their own FT yet. For better understanding: "featured topic" is the highest status that a page series on English Wikpedia can achieve. It must contain a minimum of three related articles that all have been successfully promoted for at least GA class (good article). The majority of them must have either FA (featured article) or FL (featured list) status. Yuzu's page series has the following assessment status at the moment: Main bios page (GA), our team is re-structuring the full page now to have a more logical order and naming of sections, and also prepare some "buffer space" for future additions Olympic seasons (currently rated C-class with ongoing FA review) Career achievements (FL) Now that Yuzu has finished his competitive career, we also plan to record a spoken version of his Olympic seasons article (when the FA review is completed). We want to make the page more accessible for visually impaired people, and also offer an alternative medium for all who prefer audio to written source. Link to comment

I would rather not see Yuzu get involved in any politics, especially when it comes to an issue as sensitive as Chinese-Japanese relations. But if it's a non-government business event, then it will hopefully be unlikely to be contentious in any way. Fact is, with Yuzu being so popular in China despite him being Japanese, he is indeed a perfect ambassador for improving the relationship and cooperation between these two countries. I'm pretty sure Yuzu is the most beloved Japanese person in China ever. But either way, I trust Yuzu to know what he's doing. Without a doubt, he has the intelligence, both intellectual and emotional, as well as the diplomatic skills and communication, PR and media experience necessary to deliver brilliant performances in any area. Yuzu really makes this world a better place with his skating and just by being who he is. 1 hour ago, Henni147 said: Hi everyone. After another break I wanted to leave a short update. Thank you so much for all the time, effort, and hard work you and your team have put into Yuzu's Wikipedia presence. And congrats to your success!
