  1. Wow the psychological warfare was real!! I watched barely any practices online partially for my own sanity, partially because the were geoblocked, and partially because I just didn't have the time, so this sequence is news to me and boy is it glorious!! Looking at all of these fancams I am finally getting off my bum to upload mine. I've not even watched them since those days so it'll be fun to relive a bit. Curious how my screaming there stacks up to my Helsinki screaming. As for the rest of your post, I think Yuzu likes to have goals for himself. I feel like successful people like him don't relax for too long because they don't know how to do it. He'll set his mind to what's next even if it requires patience.
  2. Is there anyone better? I mean, I think Boyang's lutz is great, but the Wow factor with Yuzu for me remains how beautiful he looks midair combining great height, flow, speed in and out of the jumps, etc for ALL of his jumps. Not to mention the jump setup where I only know they are coming because I know his choreography. Leg wraps are not a part of his vocabulary. I've never seen anything like it and I don't know if I'll ever see anything like it again. The effortlessness still takes my breath away all of these years later. If Yuzu wasn't jumping right, they would look ugly. There is nothing ugly at all about his perfectly executed jumps. Did anybody else get +3 on their quads at the Olys btw?
  3. Welcome to the forum! As ralucutzagy kindly pointed out, we have the media section with many compilations. But in addition to that I'd also recommend checking his name in English and Japanese on social media sites like Tumblr and Twitter. There are fanarts and memes galore, along with other Yuzu lovers. It's down the rabbit hole from here so get ready for the ultimate (but fun) time suck. There is no turning back so live long and uber !
  4. I turned my mom into a fan and my godmom isn't a fan fan (she's just not into skating all that much) but she likes to know when he does well, mainly for my sake. She gets why I like him. Like they wanted updates during his injury and everything. And when I got back and showed my dad some of video of Yuzu he could see right away why he is next level. He isn't a skating fan but he grew up watching it because his mom, my grandmom (God rest her soul) was a very big fan. So he can spot quality. He also really liked Yuzu's free skate music. He felt like Yuzu was doing martial arts on ice.
  5. Me too. I would like him to podium, if not win. He'd already be a bronze medalist if I had my way in Boston. Nothing against Boyang because I was fine with his bronze in Helsinki. It just depends on where Misha's head is at. It's a bummer for me because he is my favorite jumper to watch behind Yuzu, but all 4 performances I attended in PyeongChang were sub-par. He deserves a good competition before the season is out!
  6. As long as Yuzu won I was going to be decidedly fine about anything else. I would have been happy with either Aliona or Sui/Han winning (though a bit more for Aliona, being her 5th Olympics and all), and the Shibs medalling, so it's okay to me.
  7. Also interesting to note that the other disciplines all required world records to factor into the scoring in some sense. While they were stingy with the men we still got this point gap.
  8. Oh man, I love Hiroshima. The best okonomiyaki on earth! (Sorry, Osaka, you're still pretty good though!)
  9. Torino's Men's podium is probably still my favorite podium because I totally adored all 3 . And that they'd influence my next fave?! It was fate, folks!! Though Yuzu himself is my favorite champion. Watching Yuzu as a clockwise skater is doing things to my brain!
  10. This company also makes a line of Sailor Moon purses and wallets that I really like! I'm super excited that they also want to support Yuzu and the 3.11 efforts!!
  11. I bought it. This magazine is glorious!!! Yuzu looks like the royalty that he is. And if you like Javi he is particularly dashing in some of the photos and in a poster. *sigh*
  12. Well Satoko still had braces so definitely over a year ago.
  13. Okay so I played a bit of catch up with this tread too and have some quotes where I want to give my 2 cents:
  14. Thanks! This was really interesting to watch. Did they do this for the ladies too? And do we know if that is subtitled?
  15. NBC App is free to download. Some videos are free to watch too. You can try google cardboard (which I actually think they have DIY instructions), but I have to be hooked into the headset to download and play it in the oculus interface. You don't need an account to see the highlights, but you need an account to watch the entire event Thankfully in the highlights which is free for everyone they show Yuzu's complete program. They only showed snippets of Javi and Shoma. They showed some K&C too and I remember hearing some dialogue. I may login to my cable account later so see what the entire competition looked like.
  16. Oh speaking of which, if any of you have VR headset devices, the NBC Olympics app has the men's free in there. You can see Yuzu's free skate from a 180 degree view. Kinda interesting.
  17. This is a clear example of "putting your game face on". You are correct. I saw another video with them showing the cameras lining the arena to get those 360 shots. Though I didn't really see the point of it. I think stromotion is better.
  18. Oh nice!! Well I'll cross my fingers they'll do it again. Though I'm sure getting tickets will be their usual hunger games of a process.
  19. Welcome to the Planet! Always nice to have new satellites go into orbit! I live in DC, so we're on the same time zone. Your best bet to see Yuzu practice is attending practice sessions for competitions. I went to Autumn Classic last year in Montreal and it was generally a great time. We got to see Yuzu break a world record in a small venue so it felt really intimate and special. There is also Skate Canada which he tends to frequent. But he isn't always at his peak earlier in the season. I have tickets for the Grand Prix Final in Vancouver in the winter so if he goes I may build in time to go to the practices. He's so exciting to watch in practice because he sometimes works on combinations he doesn't do in competition. And his skating skills are wonderful too so he is great to watch even when he isn't jumping. You probably will get the most opportunities to see him practice at World Championships and that's when he and other skaters try to be at their very best. Next year Worlds is in Japan and they don't offer open practice so you wouldn't have much of an opportunity there. However, he has won 4 GPF titles in a row with some of his best scores there so if you can get to the other coast and qualifies, you should try for it! I was at the Olympics and got in early enough to see the practices on the event days and it's really great, but the skaters typically keep it light and don't really give 100%, waiting to do it a few hours later when it counts. But it's still worth a watch.
  20. I am so behind I don't know if I will get to catch up!! But I can't wait to relive everyone's excitement on here all over again. Still photos to come, still video to upload, still some jet lag that I am sort of adjusting to, but what a whirlwind this month has been. I love the new banner! It warms my heart to see some order restored in the universe and see our guy so truly happy. I remember thinking I didn't think I could be any happier after witnessing Yuzu win worlds in Helsinki. But yeah, there is another level. The Olympics are amazing and insane all at once.
  21. Just now catching up on nearly 100 pages, lol. I'm glad that Yuzu's here and looks good. And yes, it's only about 2 hours from Seoul Station to Gangneung with KTX. I am curious where Yuzu will be staying. Shoma was on our train after the team event men's SP and he seemed to be staying in Seoul because he got off there with us. I need to upload more photos here and I will, but I'm also putting a little more stuff on my instagram so feel free to check out there: https://www.instagram.com/danibellerika/?hl=en Need to pull from my facebook too where I'm doing a bunch of photo dumping. @kiches and I have been interviewed by TV Tokyo and they plan to do more during the team event, so please keep your eyes peeled if you guys see us! Curious what makes the cut. After the Team Free I am headed to Japan for a couple days! Can't wait!
  22. Hi from Hong Kong! It's been a crazy long day and change of travel, but I'm in Asia finally . I had a layover in Seoul and they were airing an I, Tonya feature, lol. Getting right into the skating spirit I see. The night before I left for my trip I went to the Disney Store and they were having a crazy BOGO deal, so I ended up buying 3 Poohs and a Simba (for me cuz Simba's awesome). When it came to packing, I only ended up bringing two though (along with my own personal security blanket Pooh for when he skates) and I guess my hunch was right. I was just prepared to possibly send security blanket Pooh flying as a 3rd one if he did do the TE. https://ibb.co/c07Ob6 My first reaction upon hearing Yuzu not participating in the TE was..."welp, we'd better strap TF in". Of course I wanted to see him, but I understand. At this point we've waited this long to see him so we can wait a little more and I can watch the team events a little more stress free since anytime he skates I'm nervous. At least all the Yuzu mania will be condensed, lol. It feels a bit different with all of this now that I'm on the go. No time for freak outs, just time to get this show on the road. Either that or those chill pills I got are working, lol. Also I started an album here and I plan to keep uploading to it for you guys:
  23. For the opening ceremony (which I plan to avoid cuz I don't want to be miserable), the US athletes will have coats with heaters inside that they can set to whatever temperature they want with their smart phones. I think that should be available for all athletes. And Yuzu skated the team event SP last time which are around the time of the opening ceremony so that could have been why he skipped it.
  24. I am expecting nothing less than a well skated event. Since men have been a mess all season the olympics could be the perfect storm for these guys to pull it together.
  25. https://www.amazon.com/Plum-Flower-Economy-Size-Wanderer/dp/B0036LMKOO/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1517412123&sr=8-1&keywords=free+of+easy+wanderer+teapills Per my acupuncturist friend's recommendations, these will be accompanying me to PyeongChang. Take 8 small pills 3x a day with room temperature water. Don't eat or drink anything else about 10 minutes after taking it. It's recommended to take them some time before the date. I'm starting my regimen tomorrow But take it for a little bit at first to make sure they agree with you. I tried them for a few days a month ago and they seemed fine for me.
