I don't see the tweet anymore on his page because I was going to point out that as one of the biggest Sasha fans there is, was, and ever will be, she literally had only ONE completely clean free skate in her entire senior career, MAYBE 2 if we'll let a two footed jump pass (it was under 6.0 when two foots didn't count at all). BOTH were at cheesfests. She book-ended that whole season with those good skates and that's where they only skate the free programs. She literally squandered two worlds titles and an OGM (possibly two if she didn't botch her 3/3 in SLC) and she wasn't even trying to add new elements year in year out. And Evan watered down what he did have to get his big win. I'm not happy to remind him, but I certainly have no problem doing so. ETA: Oh and Mr. Hersh was FAR from complimentary about Sasha back in the day. Funny how he changes his tune. All he talked about was her inconsistency. Pft. We fans always approached whatever he or Brennan would write ready to roll our eyes from funday to sunday...I. Just. Can't.

I'm reading this like:
-
I am perfectly content in my not-so-blissful ignorance until nationals. My imagination can be overactive so I'm trying to curb that.
-
Which for him means skating clean with his intended layouts. He couldn't even enjoy his world title as much because he was busy harping about his SP.
-
What a fanboy. And now he has his own. My old fave stanning for my current fave who stanned for my old fave. It's just a lot, you guys!!
-
I just got a Note 8 recently. Maybe I should learn a little Korean while I'm at it. I agree. I still haven't actually seen the fall.

A+ ninja skills.

I do that too. I will start to pronounce things like the people around me. It's likely also be why I have decent Spanish and Japanese accents.
-
Yes, my friend came back later and said she must have heard misinformation. Sorry. But I knew you guys would hear the deal soon so I went to bed.

Tracy's accent is very obviously Canadian to me, though I have always been more senstive to accents than your average Joe. In fact, listening to her commentating all those years ago was when I realized that American stations don't hire strictly Americans to do commentary. What's interesting though is when I'm in Canada, nobody assumes I am American even though my pronunciation is very American. As you said, Canadians say "sorry" more like "sore-ey" and "about" vs. "aboot" remains the usual running gag. But when I was in Vancouver I also noticed they'd pronounce "pasta" like "past-uh" while I say it more like "pah-stuh". I didn't speak any differently as I do at home, and yet nobody assumed. In fact, when I was in Helsinki I watched the ladies free at the hotel with Jason's Brown's parents initially, but they left and then I was watching with a Canadian coach. He assumed I was Canadian. I guess one difference is I'm not automatically insulted if someone assumes I'm Canadian, as it would be the other way around. Of course not every Canadian says these words this way. But also in Canadian commentary they don't pronounce skaters names like we do. We say Hanyu closer to the intended pronunciation unlike the Canadians who say his name like "hand-yu", and it drives me nuts, lol. Tracy says Yuzu's name the right way now but I feel like there was a time when she too would say "hand-yu". Also, I don't detect a Canadian accent from Yuzu. It's just Japanese-accented English to me. Much like Javi's English is Spanish-accented English. My friends tell me my accent is neutral and reminds them of someone that's a news reporter. I dunno, I'm speaking here around 29 seconds When I'm in NY or Boston, I'm told I sound more southern, and when I'm in the south I'm told I sound northern. As a Washingtonian I'm right in the middle along the coast so that's not too surprising, but Bostonians and New Yorkers tend to have their own very distinct accents. In fact, there are many places in the US with distinct accents. We don't all say "water" the same way, or "roof" the same way. Even "root" can sound different.

So I admit to being a crying mess this morning but it is uplifting to see all the positive messages for him from the skating community. I heard from one of my Japanese friends that he is back home in Sendai and I think that is the best place for him right now.
-
I've not seen the fall and I don't plan on seeing the fall. I just hope it's not too detrimental to him and they are erring on the side of caution.
-
It's a poll asking if you like or dislike him. The 94.36% is pretty promising ~_^

I can't function without mine.

I've been admittedly thinking about THE Pooh-san as of late, but @kiches did a good job to remind me that as much as Yuzu likes Pooh-san, he wants that gold medal more and will not let this be an issue.

For some reason I'm narrating this in my head as if I'm watching a documentary. The narrator has a compelling voice
-
Though if it were short notice for Tracy who knows what flights were available.
-
Well the server won't let me post the apropos gif so I'll just post my twitter response

Yeah I noticed it looked like Misha had rotation to spare. You would think he could hit it more often because of that. Looking forward to Yuzu refining his.

I showed my friend and asked her what she thought of his Russian. She said it was "cute" and that he sounded as good as you could sound for a non-native speaker. She said he has the phonetics down. And then she was tickled that the fans went wild, haha. She remains floored that he bows to the fans.
-
Yeah, it's just that my first thought is street for michi and walkway/sidewalk for hodou. It's just my non-fluent quirks kicking in lol.
-
I never knew the Japanese name. So it's "Pari walkstreet" At least my first thought for Michi is street. I'm wonder why they didn't call it "パリの歩道" (Pari no Houdou)

General Skating Chat

But it's still important to keep in mind that this is more about supporting Yuzu than ranting too much about others. It's not a free for all. At the end of the day no one knows what the future holds, but one thing is for sure. Yuzuru still controls his own destiny.
