  1. Thanks! Interesting...I don't think Nate will be skating both so I have a feeling they will just keep it to one dance team unless they change their minds about Mirai. I had a feeling they could use the "story" angle for Mirai before I even watched this. Mirai is also doing one so she can bring one loved-one, either a parent or her boyfriend. Though my trip is not going to be $11,000 (though it's still expensive that much I will say). https://www.youcaring.com/mirainagasu-1066185
  2. Wonder where they heard this from. And can I be linked, or at least directed, to where they mention it? I would really rather watch Mirai in the team free if possible.
  3. Maggie Hendricks stays doing the lord's work.
  4. I haven't watched it and I'm not gonna bother to watch it. But this is why Yuzu wants to go and win decisively.
  5. Which is funny since he tacks a 3 toe on in combination. But it's never the same as starting off with it. With him getting back on the ice and relearning jumps, I would think he'd start at singles to work his way up. So would he just hit a 3A out of the gate? Maybe 1A to 3A? He can do a 3A off the ice.
  6. Thanks to info from ShiroKJ on GS, they said that a korean article listed the income of Yuzu and other athletes and they said he makes over $2 million a year but that he limits his contracts. Probably better so he doesn't lose his mind with a bunch of commitments and can actually train. Here is a link to the article unless you guys have seen and I completely missed it which is totally possible. : http://m.sports.naver.com/general/news/read.nhn?oid=469&aid=0000268788
  7. I was pretty calm because it was Boston redux which I witnessed and survived. For ACI I was just glad I could see the short. Didn't get that luxury in Boston.
  8. Here is the spread (from my friend Margie):
  9. I think with the final preparations of planning the trip I am in a weird place. Sort of nervous, but also so busy planning things that I can't think about it as much. I think distractions might be good. I don't know if what works for Shoma will necessarily work for Yuzu. So the New York Times article is in print. But according to my friend the title is worse. Says "Icon Stumbles on Road to Perfection". *sigh*
  10. Yeah OAR is allowed to compete as a team. I think Canada, USA, and OAR have the first 3 spots sewn up (just a matter of if OAR or Canada wins gold or silver; enjoy defending your bronze, USA). I think they mentioned they'd allow Yuzu the opportunity to skate in either or both portions.
  11. Japan has to qualify for the free first though and they aren't as much of a shoe in as before (though I am already bored to tears of a team free I'll have to sit through with no team japan; would have planned to go to japan earlier in that case...). Italy has Koster, the ice dancers, and a better pairs team. France has stronger ice dancers and pairs than they did in the past and they will certainly do better than Japan's pairs and ice dancers. To make up the slack Japan's ladies would need to be where mao was if not higher and the japanese man (either shoma or yuzu) will likely need to win the short. So now there is an issue that Yuzu would have to be willing to skate both portions or potentially miss out on the opportunity all together.
  12. I have an actual edea card with this pose from helsinki. I'll do a spread of them all together when my friend mails me the ones she got from Nats.
  13. Caroll will always be mostly known for coaching Michelle Kwan until she left him, because I don't think he'll have a champion like that come through his doors again. He did coach Denis but he left. He coached a quadless Evan to an OGM and we know how all of that goes.
  14. Yes. But I never need a reason to watch him skate, lol. Definitely understand the anger but please remember that, per forum rules, direct personal attacks aren't allowed. I have edited your post a little bit.
  15. Just watch Yuzuru skate and you'll feel better. At least with Brian the quality of Yuzu's jumps improved. Poor Gracie went to Frank and that's where her big jumps went to die...
  16. I was a zombie in Helsinki getting to those practices and then you have long day ahead of actual competition...and I'm just the spectator! And yeah, I agree with you about how they didn't stagger the days between the two. It makes no sense. Ice dance I could understand being back to back, but even ladies gets a day's rest!
  17. So happy to hear he is recovered! Part of me wants to see it to believe it, but I will take whatever positive news I can get. I miss him terribly. But back to the article. I read it on the train ride in to work and this line made me smile: One thing I really liked was that they acknowledged the various nationalities of his travelling fans. FINALLY!! Yes, not every Asian fan is Japanese!! And I'm pretty sure that bookstore he is talking about in Manhattan is Kinokuniya. When I was there a little after worlds there were a lot of magazines. A Yuzu mag was the first thing to greet me when I walked into the store and I felt like I was at home or something. And then I was there in October and they had less magazines but still quite a few. This is essentially me. My first trip to Europe was to see a figure skating competition. I really didn't even see much of Helsinki. But Yuzu made it so worth it. One of the happiest days of my life. And now I'm going to South Korea to...see figure skating competitions but this was always a bucket list thing, Yuzu or no Yuzu. It's just now a lot more important because of him.
  18. Lol my friend in NYC messaged me saying it was out. Hoping he can hook me up with the paper copy. *fingers crossed*
  19. One of my friends is at Nats watching practices right now and she was kind enough to get an Edea card for me. Only one type for Yuzu was there she said. She also got Mirai (who had 2) and Dennis V for me. But anyway, they've at least updated it to include his latest world title. But they don't list all his GPF wins. Is 2013-2016 so hard to write? The formatting in general isn't consistent. "World Champion 2014 2017", but "World Silver Medalist 2015 & 2016" right below it? But I won't complain...much. I'm just happy there's a little Seimei in the house and I'll take it and put it with my Helsinki ones (which were a lot more hard-earned to get a copy of I must say; we had to wait in line for up to 20 minutes and they kept running out!)
  20. I understand that concern, but nobody has counted Yuzu out, and I'm sure Yuzu isn't counting himself out. Just doesn't seem to be a part of his DNA. No matter what happens though, February has not defined him until this point and the result there won't define him. We know what he's been up against and we know he's given this sport 200% of himself.
  21. Daisuke being hott and heroic and badass and need I go on?
  22. Ditto. Wish you could make the trip! ACI was fun. But I know every Yuzuber will be tuning in and will be there in spirit.
