I just noticed Yuzu is on the Olympic Channel's Cover Photo...with Usain Bolt, Simone Biles, and Lebron James to name a few. Not bad company if you ask me!

Yeah that's the thing...Most who I enjoy are not American. And in general I don't really do shows. Like, to expect me to even sit through a competition Gala is expecting too much. I might be interested in one or two performances but that's about it.

No spoilers, Maia!! People that attend seem to enjoy it and prices aren't the worst I've see. FSU has reviews of people if you want to check it out. They seem to enjoy the show.

Re: Toe point. Sasha was my Yuzu equivalent at the time so I cared about toe point very much and still do depending on your skating style. And yes, she did it in her jumps (that's commentary from Dick Button btw). That said, with Yuzu I don't care or even notice all that much. I typically don't look for it in guys. He is very polished in other ways. But for moves like spirals it wasn't just about the toe point, but also the alignment, which Sasha was also amazing at. Skaters like Karen Chen have good extension, but her alignment is not good so I often find myself cringing a bit if it's a straight on angle of it (Sasha's for comparison is straight through with no break at the hip). Even Lipnitskaya could do the the spirals with great flexibility and alignment, but I'd look at the lack of toe point and scrunch my nose. Even Wakaba, I like her a lot, but I'd be perfectly okay if she never did a fan spiral again. So needless to say Yuna's club foot never did it for me, though I was never much of a fan in general. She just wasn't my skater and that's okay. So for me, as long as Yuzu isn't doing what Sasha's done to supreme excellence, I'm not bothered, especially because in general he has great line and performs moves more flattering for him. But on some level I do understand being nitpicky about those things. It's hard to unsee them when you have a set standard. Sasha's kind of ruined me for that. If your layback isn't completely parallel to the ice with the back and leg, I'm gonna notice. If you grab your blade for a front catch this way vs. this neater this way, I'm gonna notice (that was Sasha both times but she improved on it to make it look better). But I digress. At the same time Yuzu has ruined me for a lot of things, especially jumps. Even TSL called his jumps "stunningly beautiful". I'm a lot less tolerant of telegraphing, less than pretty air positions, and less than stellar runouts. It's not a way to live, folks. My faves keep ruining me with their high standards. PS: I just listened to a little more of Dick's commentary on Sasha's short and he talks about how he's getting pelted with stuffed dolls. He hasn't a clue of what that would grow to mean He looks like his mother with a haircut. Gosh they look so alike. Yeah well I was screaming and crying in PC like I never have for an athlete before, so I can relate.

Say it louder for the people in the back! But at the very least, Johnny had some really nice words about Hanyu after he won in PC saying that "Yuzuru Hanyu is and will remain a king."

Brian said he took English as a part of his university studies which has helped him. Beyond that I think he just uses his exposure at TCC since he doesn't seem to get out much.

They might be his real medals. Perhaps he's temporarily lending them out to the exhibition, but when it's over he will get them back. I doubt his olympic golds are there though. Though did I hear his sochi medal is on display in Sendai? In that case I would think it's a replica or something.

Way back when I went to Champions on Ice in the early 2000s and they had international cast. Plushenko was there, so we got the top skaters. But looooong gone are those days unfortunately. And US SOI is not televised as far as I know but there are fancams.

Nate is edging out shoma who was ahead earlier. I could see if they wanted NEW programs...but Keegan's is a repeat so there's nothing else to say aside from the fact that their agenda is clear. But I guess I can understand the desperation. Skating in the US is still in the toilet. In an olympic year Stars on Ice doesn't even sell out arenas. But stuff like this is not going to make skating anymore popular here. Meanwhile Yuzuru will always be Yuzuru and omitting him altogether just shows who really rules the roost.

Looking at all of this Yuzu media when they show old 2014 Olys SP clips of his 3A and 4toe, I decided to go back to look at the protocols: http://www.isuresults.com/results/owg2014/owg14_Men_SP_Scores.pdf IMO both the 3A and 4T should have been +3 GOE. Yet another stingy world record for our guy.

I have a fluff ball of my own so I totally get it. I want another pet but debating if I want a birman or a cavalier king charles spaniel or a Corgi that I'm gonna name Ein. My cat now seems to get along with others despite being the "only child" for 11 years.

I wasn't ready

I did last year. Mao's was there too. People tend to knock it, but dunno I had fun . Though I think Mao's was better and had a cooler set up on the revolving table. The hologram thing was hilarious. I recorded mine somewhere. I still don't know why it couldn't be something ON the ice. If you are a visibly non-native Japanese person and speak Japanese, that is a sure fire way for you to stand out. I can personally attest to this. But I guess her heavily accented Japanese was easier for him to understand than her speaking native English. When I think about it from my perspective I could probably say I'd understand someone's accented english better than native Japanese where my brain is probably working a little more for comprehension. I'm amazed at how Brian really hauls ass (likely to get to Javi) after Yuzu's score. Now you see him, now you don't! I caught him doing the same in Helsinki. Before the skaters started their programs the jumbotron displayed what the skaters needed for the lead. Like, before Shoma started, they showed that his season's best could have gotten the job done. Though they didn't show what he needed for silver. I knew he did enough to stay on the podium but I was still thinking bronze. I am really confused what this 48 hour coverage from PyeongChang is about because I've only seen curling and worlds skates. There will be an hour of the men's coverage from PC around midnight EST
