I bet Shoma wouldn't mind some political victories tho, especially during Olympic year... at least, this is what I think based on his approach to not fix his jump technique at all, and actually push himself to do more quads (the talk about 4 Lz) when he knows damn well he rotates in the air way less than his rivals.
-
Just fyi, I've decided I'm going to do a fanmade Seimei 2.0 with musics from the Onmyouji movies and other Umebayashi OST's because the musics are just. Marvellous. Oh my Gosh. (Also don't worry, I think this is gonna jinx Yuzuru NOT choosing Seimei 2.0 for the Olympics. Which, at this point, would make me super sad COUGH)

I would definitely be interested in that explanation! By razor's edge I meant 'at risk', 'on the edge of failure', although this last one seems a bit too dramatic. This meaning that if he doesn't get favoured anymore, his jump mistakes will get called more, and this depends on Nagoya's approach to Western Federations too, to an extent, or at least so I think.
-
Oh well, this calms me up a little. At least the general Japanese public knows better than to actually listen to them. That's a relief. Maybe Western Federations will think twice about it when next time they will ask favours for Shoma, or something along those lines. I think Shoma is skating "on the razor's edge", as they say.

Yes, salty and envious, I'd say, because one has to cover their eyes and only see the things they want to see from Yuzuru, to call him arrogant, and ignore the countless times where he proved he is always careful about how others perceive him, he is always respectful and formal when formality is required. I understand the limits of Japanese culture, and I am familiar with how it's veeery easy to come off as arrogant if you do anything slightly over-the-top. But, like this... like this it seems like culture is an excuse to manifest your personal dislike for someone. I'd say, it's not Japanese style to throw shade like this

HERO Nathan Chen doesn't like following the layouts his team lays out for him apparently Well, as long as Yuzuru pops his 3A into a single Axel with positive GOE, he should be fine, right?

Several things I love about this video... I'll just name a couple to keep it short: 1) Breath puffs. I'd never seen a video in which you could see his breath puffs in the air! Marvellous! You can see he is breathing hard during the whole performance... 2) As soon as he finishes and they interview him, his eyes are red and teary. Such a precious moment. White legend is a fantastic program...

That's also the first thing I looked for Like I said, guy knows his strenghts... and he knows his weaknesses! And he worked on that! How many years has it been in a row that he's been getting positive GOE's for that Triple Flip?
-
^^^ Also, do you have any link you can share for the whole Onmyoji OST? I'd love to listen to that.
-
Poor Max; who knows from where he took those rumors... but I bet he was secretly happy to hear them, much like Yatagarasu xD At least, so it seemed. Max is always enthusiastic about any choice Yuzuru makes, tbh. He's the best of us all.
-
Oh my God, so cute, I might die I like how he knows where he can and cannot get GOE. Since he was very little, he was aware of what jumps he could do well and what jumps he had to work on. He's come a long way.

Sorry, I didn't remember correctly which version was which! In the broadcast version he was late, so actually he landed 3T when the Chord had already played. I think he tried to hurry the 3T when he realized he was a tiny-bit late but his landing on the 4T wasn't perfect, so he lost time. The clean version is pretty well synched, it's just a different synch than the one from day 1, which we got a snipped of. This is the dailymotion video of day 1, now that I see it, he actually does the arm movement together with the landing. The difference in timing is subtle, but it's there, and I prefer this one because BOTH landings AND takeoffs are on accented piano chords, so it's just perfection for me.
-
I don't want to pick between the arm movement version and the first version with both jumps perfectly synched with the piano rhythm because they're both so beautiful... I guess, though, it will change from performance to performance, because during that piano crescendo I think it's really hard for Yuzuru to distinguish to the second the moment he needs to jump. It all depends on how much his set up will take, so I think we'll see how it'll all work out. I am in serious need of the next show of Faoi. 9 days are way too many. Way too many.
-
I think the best possible combination would be 3T+arm movement right on the chord ("note"), it would be hard to balance but it would pay off! I think the arm movement in the clean version wasn't even planned, but was an improv "born" from the success of having landed all 3 jumping passes c:

I am melting just looking at that black multi-layered outfit on Yuzu. It's +30 degrees already, here in Rome. If he was here, dressed like that, I bet he would just evaporate and inside those ill-fitted clothes a pale noodle would remain in his place. No, really, it looks like the clothes are falling off of him, and that's why his pose is a bit weird xD They should already know by now that his size is XS for Japanese girls.
-
Soooo the weather is nice today, isn't it? subtleness not detected
-
It's all on Yuzu! I mean, I've never seen someone throw kisses like him, honestly. He's like, he's not just kissing, he's like pressing the shape of his open mouth on his hands and then throwing that at people xD the PASSION he does it with. He wants to kill us all. Dork!Kiss throw.
-
Was my plan so obvious?
-
Soooo I didn't know whether this video belonged here or not: it is a fan-made video but It's not a MAD or anything xD I think some of you might have already seen this since I had shared this in the International Fan group on facebook, and it got wonderful comments and people there have been extra kind. So it made me happy and I decided to share it here as well, since this is going to be our stable home (I hope), for a long time c: Here is, Hope and Legacy, solo Piano version, played by me and synched with Yuzuru's mesmerizing performance.

Flexibility Issue (vs jumps)
Murieleirum replied to Fay's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
That sounds terrible. I've been flexibility training for half a year by now, almost every day, but still I've got no full splits. I am pretty chill about it, since I never did dance or anything, but if someone did that to me I'd get traumatized... plus, isn't there serious risk for joints injury or something? Well, maybe less risk with young kids... but if I did it at 20, I think it wouldn't be the same story xD -
Think of all the new fans that will come after Pyeongchang xD
-
Snape lives on though.
-
Sorry, I had to do it
-
I'd propose ISU to add these to the changes for the year after the Olympics: add a grade of execution after 3. Call it "Yuzuru's 2-meters-long-3A".
-
Oh damn. That might be... actually... the best 3A I've ever seen? I'm in love. Send help.
