  1. I'll just go into spoiler because this is a little too OT! I am sure it's legit. We all knew he was training 4A, the surprising part is that... Orser knows this! He has seen it! So Yuzuru has moved from 'training 4A behind Brian's back' to 'training it in front of his face' Anyways, half the people here were 100% sure Yuzu was going to put 4Lz in. I, for one, should have listened to them xD
  2. I haven't come across Fanyus who are disrespectful towards other skaters though. Sure, maybe you won't use sugar-coated tones and words for all of them, especially if you are bitter about injustices that have happened (see: 4cc 2017, which was the first competition I watched live in streaming, and the first time I had a taste of federation inflation). But no Hanyu fan would dream of booing other skaters, or wishing them ill.
  3. This photo is amazing, his body is simply perfectly harmonic from the tip of his hair to the tip of his pinky... look at that pinky...
  4. "Look at me! Look at me mom! I won the big shiny prizeeeee!!!" - 22 years old Yuzu
  5. I would die if this were true A 2017 R&J 1.0??? Etude??? POTO??? AAAAAHHHH
  6. Seeing this, now I can really understand what Yuzuru meant when he said (about Hope and Legacy): "some people hate me, lots of people love me." For a little guy like him that has always been patriotic and generous with his own compatriots, it hurts to see him giving so much importance to some violent bunch who decided sport was not the reason they went there to see those guys skate. I'm also sorry for Takahashi, because as a true sportsman I bet he was annoyed as well by the rude and hurtful behavior or his own fans. In any case, the past is in the past. These voices, today, are so weak it's not even worth to listen to them at all. His legacy is imposing itself not only in the whole Japan, but in the whole world.
  7. Oh, sorry if I provide no link, but in the most recent PINO upload, you can see Yuzuru's 4T3T in Chopin. He enters it after a series of 3 turns (new entrance from the ones he did in Faoi), which is the same entrance we've seen for Hana ni naru. Except that was "only" a 4T, while this was a 4T3T. Am I the last one to see this and everyone has finished drooling already, or what? that entry is crazy!
  8. Briefly??? Briefly??? every time I watch that gif, I die a little inside... too many confused feelings
  9. And this is only 20%? Good God, he HAS to keep skating for at least another 4 years... Pyeongchang will make him thirsty for a third Olympics, I just know it...
  10. Seeing things like that really makes me wonder if Yuzu isn't a little bit of a masochist and if that isn't one of the major reasons he can push himself as much as we know he can.
  11. Just as an example, look at his attempt here: He does do 4 rotations in the air here (put it in 0.25 speed and you'll count 4 turns clearly), but he lacks that final 0.5 because he had height but he didn't have enough speed. So, he needs just a little bit power than that, and he's done it. (He has already rotated more than the skater who attempted before him). Plus, Max said Yuzuru landed it. I believe everything Max says. So, now it's just a question of training it to stabilize it, which will come post Pyeongchang, hopefully! Think of the 4Lz... we've seen close to zero attempts from him, and yet one month ago we hear that 'he has stabilized the jump and wonders where to put it' LOL. I feel like what Yuzuru calls 'quad training' is just: train your usual way, and go for the jump. If you land it, good job! If you don't land it, think about why you didn't land it and next time you'll do better. I mean honestly, he trained 4Lz by putting it AT THE END OF HOPE AND LEGACY. This guy.
  12. Lol it's not like I'm looking for trouble, but I would like to see it. Do you happen to know videos of it?
  13. Oh well, I guess I get a little de-motivated as well when I see younger violinists acing pieces that I've been struggling to play. But I know why they sound good and I don't. They practice more than me. That's all. They don't have more talent, they just have more commitment. And I think the same was for Yuzuru with other skaters. Age doesn't have anything to do with it in my book - still, I understand why Takahashi felt what he felt. Other example: in class, I always wanted to get the highest grades (I guess me and Yuzu have some things in common...) and I would get suuuper kuyashii when someone had a higher grade than me, or my grade wasn't as high as I wanted it to be. But when that happened, I couldn't stop studying and start thinking 'they are smarter than me, I will never beat them'. Because then my self-esteem would have went even lower! Yes, you can't delete Yuzuru's genius. You can't pretend he doesn't exist, you can't pretend he's not the best. But you can use him as much as you can to push youself, and I think that's what every skater (including Patrick) is doing and I think it's working wonders for the sport as a whole! Finally, I feel like Takahashi is a wonderful person and I love his skating. No one skates like him because every skater at the top is unique. No one can take that away from him and Yuzuru certainly didn't do that.
  14. A question they could ask themselves could be "What would Yuzu do if Yuzu had to compete against himself?" and the answer is: he would try to go beyond his own limits, continue to grow and work on his strenghts and work on his weaknesses to create something unique, that only he could do. (I bet that's how Shoma motivates himself, lol. Trying to be as strong as Yuzuru, to maybe one day become stronger. This is one thing I admire about Shoma) I'm not saying that depressing thoughts are wrong, everyone's sensitivity is different and if that's what Takahashi felt, then there's nothing no one can do about it. But getting angry at Yuzuru for 'taking away motivation from Takahashi'? Is just ridiculous. Motivation is built inside oneself. If Takahashi or whoever else loses motivation in front of a (seemingly impossible) challenge, then that's on them. Yuzuru has nothing to do about it.
  15. I don't know a lot about jumps, so I'm in your same boat. I feel like your impression of him rotating 'more slowly' the 3A compared to the quads is due to the fact that he's kicking that leg up to get that height, then he rotates, and then he lands more than comfortably because he has the speed and height and lenght to complete 3 rotations (and a half) with no problem. But I think the speed of rotation is the same, because if you think about it most quads only have 3.5 rotations in the air, which is the same rotation that 3A has. But while that 0.5 rotation is spent (with quads) with entry and landing, somehow with the Axel there's no added 0.5 rotation, so it looks as if he's in the air, doing nothing. I don't know if I'm going anywhere with this. LOL. The point is that I think that his speed of rotation is the same. Only, with quads the rotation starts earlier and ends late, while with the Axel it starts 'mid-air' and ends earlier. What I think is missing for him to do the 4A isn't higher rotation speed, but more speed (which equals more distance) and more height. Not a lot, just 17 cm. If he gets those elements, he will have more air time to do that fourth rotation more. But such a huge jump is hard to land, because of all that energy. One thing I'm sure of: it will be the most beautiful and impressive jump ever landed.
  16. I can see how launching for a 4A may be terrifying as well. It's super high, there's so much speed and strenght, I can see how it gives you that athletic high very easily (and not only that, of course, but quads in general, and this is why I think so many young athletes want to do them).
  17. He has long, thin thighs but they have muscles especially in the back (butt lol), so depending on the perspective they look very thin or very thick. His thighs are fitness goals, for real. *sigh*
  18. Yuzuru doesn't like being a model but photographers like him as a model
  19. HAHAHAHAHA I had to read the comments to understand what was I supposed to look Also, this photo from the article gladi just translated: Amazing. Amazing. He is already deep within character. Or better, he is his own Seimei.
  20. why is he so pure
  21. The little pinky soft nose and the round little cheeks... I might be dying a little inside... he looks like a little woods fairy chipmunk...
  22. Such vivid images I am seeing in my head... that little devil... he won't show us his toy until he can say he is completely proud of it because he can stick it with twizzles before and spread eagle after or something...
  23. Not only that, but... is his 3Lz in such a bad shape that he didn't feel like trying it and maybe falling? I bet that when the last press person exited the TCC's main door, a loud PAAA resonated in the big hall of the ice rink as Yuzuru jumped and perfectly landed a 4Lz...
  24. We'd love to know what it felt like, as it was surely magical <3 I was at Helsinki as well, I love to hear all of the different experiences! ... what a... ...WHAT A...
  25. Worlds GOE for him in both SP and FS was... pretty bullshit.
