Yep! You can set a date (but maybe not a time since everyone's on a different timezone) for a specific season and we could discuss that season for a couple of days (maybe 3-4 days?) so that everyone can join in on the discussion - which could include anything from protocols, music, costume. etc... then we can move on to the next season and so on...

My suggestion would be to choose a date/time to discuss per season. Then we can watch the performance, critique it and check protocols as well.

Fun fact: Takeshi Honda trained in Sendai and was the first male skater from Japan to medal at the World Championships (2002) since Minoru Sano (1977). Minoru Sano used to coach Shizuka Arakawa.... There's really something special in Sendai it seems..

Random Personal Thoughts: I've discovered that I can bear to watch COC 14 more than NHK 14. Probably because at COC he was in 'fight' mode while at the NHK trophy it was clear that he hasn't mentally recovered and there was a sense of hopelessness. Guess who still can't fully watch Boston FS? (Me... LOLSOB ). Barcelona seems like a lucky place for him (as well as Finland). Seimei's choreo sequence is so epic (everyone knows and agrees with this but I just want to reiterate.. hahaha) Special shout out to Polish uncle from Polish eurosport. Whenever his partner is trying to be more neutral in their commentary he always interrupts to say that Yuzuru is the best..

I haven't been following Machida's past competition because he's not really my style. He's got great skating skills (like most Japanese skaters) and is great with interpretation/performance aspect. Honestly, while his PCS score did shoot up, he skated relatively clean and had the advantage of having a great short so he had the momentum (you can see how judging goes ). I try not to bring up nitty gritty details because I know some Machida fans are still salty about this (yes, even 3 years later.. FS fans have looooooong memories ) and don't want to get into the argument of who was overscored (they both were to be honest). For, me it could have gone either way. What was annoying was that because Yuzu won by virtue of his TES (they were nearly tied in PCS) this just increased the perception that he is just all jumps.

Happy 2nd month to the Planet! Thank you to the mods who organised everything. Since we're approaching the Olympic season () I've finished compiling the 2013-2014 season for everyone's Yuzu withdrawal needs. ( I actually finished it yesterday but forgot to comment). Personal thoughts: I think the main problem R+J2 (besides not being R+J1) is that it doesn't have a coherent theme. We know it's Romeo and Juliet but what was Yuzu portraying? Was there ever a confirmation/interview? Because looking at the program without knowing anything of it's conception, it's a bit confusing. The costume is more in line with Juliet. Some of the choreography looks like he could be Romeo (reaching up to the balcony?) and some like Juliet (plunging the dagger into his chest). There seems to be a lack of communication between David Wilson and Yuzu or David just didn't get Yuzu at that point in time. (Unlike Shae who seems to be able to click with Yuzu's vision/line of thinking more - but I digress). Also, David Wilson really likes putting in some random illusion spin - just an observation. Controversy time! Worlds.... I really feel like it could've gone either way between Yuzu and Tatsuki but I won't lie and say that being the Olympic champion helped Yuzu. I won't argue with scores or who deserves to win but what I didn't like was this intensified the 'rivalry' narrative that Japanese media had going on between Yuzu and Tatsuki, which you can tell Yuzu really didn't like. And now, you can see the lengths Yuzu goes to with Shoma to make sure it doesn't happen again. Compiling everything made me realise it really was a long season. I'm glad he's got one Olympic cycle under his belt so now he knows what to do and be more prepared.

That story of 'trauma' and betrayal will never not be funny.

Unfortunately, it's been proven time and time again that certain pieces of music are more... palatable to judges than others. I'm sure lots of skaters want more freedom in their choice of music but there's never a guarantee that judges will like it (ex: judges liked seimei but seemed very lukewarm with hope and legacy). So, if they want to get good scores/win, they go for the music pieces that are familiar/tried and tested.

Yeah... in terms of figure skating jump faces, his isn't bad. They mostly look like he's gonna murder someone Funniest jump face for me still goes to Boyang. hahaha
