  1. Seeing the current topic of the last 3 pages, I sure hope something else, preferably anything from FaOI broadcast, comes up when I wake up tomorrow morning. It's time for me to follow this Yuzu: (Scanned by @Pamigena)
  2. Nah, considering he does it also in his EX, it's more than just to retain level. I've mentioned it before, it's a point of pride. Which, when he wasn't able to, mostly to conserve energy due to messing up a jump hence needed a YOLO later, or because he was still injured, he dropped it anyway. Also, as @Katt said, the alternative, the A-spin, now THAT is not a good spin position. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For me, I shall always be glad, that for Yuzu, as long as he still could, his Biellmann is here to stay. People can say it's not a good position. Spin level and GOE say it's ok score-wise. And the sentimental and pride value is there, too. So, I say, keep it, boy!
  3. His Biellmann, in isolation, is not great. Neither is his layback Ina Bauer. But being able to do both has always been a point of pride of his. The Biellmann is there because his idol Plushenko used to do it, and it's rare among men. Martinez has (had?) a better Biellmann doesn't mean Yuzu should drop it because his is not the best. In addition to everything else he does well in his program, the fact that he does Biellmann too is why it's great. Layback IB is there because it's rare among skaters, male or female (Martinez's brief layback IB in that Sochi FS was also deeper, too bad it wasn't always used to a great impact in a program), and because Shi-chan does it (the best version, imo). Tiny Bby Zu was so proud to show that he could do the IB 'the Arakawa way' back in the first few interviews of him. The way he does layback IB, again, after everything else he does well in his program, plus how he times it to match perfectly with the music and to add impact into his program is why it's great.
  4. This is how you can tell I couldn't let go of this thing yet. Browsing around, found this: an app, adapted from the fisk-8 calculator, for the new 'proposed' COP. Clicky.
  5. Came across this, full conversion of singles' TES for OWG '18. Under spoiler cz I am not sure whether it's allowed to be shared, but I found it quite easily:
  6. BTW, here's Alice, converting more scores (Vasiljev's WC '18, Medvedeva and Zagitova's PC, Uno's WC '18), and I am copy pasting the entire post under spoiler, in case people don't want to click on the link and be directed away from this page. Quoting the ending part, which makes my head dizzy all over again: "This is true for all of the jumps, not just quads, so, well, if you are a skater with a chronic case of UR, your TES might actually be affected less compared to everyone else. How’s that for some food for thought huh?"
  7. She did. I'm on computer, so: She also added GPF '15 Seimei: That's 3-quality-quad program vs. 6-quad program. But, yes, those are all still mistake-free programs. This is one of those weeks where I wish I truly have a time off, so I can do comparisons with mistakes filled competition to see how it would hold up.
  8. @Yatagarasu @Neenah Since I was the one bringing her post here, I feel responsible to make it clear. Alice didn't say the comparison makes the changes okay. She even said it at the end it could be "a sheer luck, since I’m still convinced no one in that organization actually knows how math works." The purpose of the post is to show exactly that: Yuzu needs a flawless performance to work the flawed system. What's new in that? Her call for everyone to calm down was a bit of a desperate, resigned plea too, cz, well. It's a proposed change, but as I understand it, it's a done deal already. Unless of course, ISU have enough decency to walk back their error.
  9. I am awake! Bcz of Alice: Yuzu's WC '17 FS: Chen's WC '18 FS: The ending of her post: "So, well, maybe the ISU did know what they’re doing when they said they want to focus more on quality over quantity? Or it could be sheer luck, since I’m still convinced no one in that organization actually knows how math works. Anyhow, I guess what I’m trying to say is, everyone calm down. It’s not the end of the world yet, alright?" ETA: let me weep at the decrease of the Stsq and the increase of Chsq, the latter of which makes H&L's Chsq gets the lower final score.
  10. I'm gonna go to sleep (It's 8pm here). Wake me up when they finally decide that higher number of 1) crossover and 2) 5 basic ballet arm positions wins the entire thing.
  11. Logic, what logic? Watch figure skate dies, this time faster than ever. I'm sorry, I'll snap out of the doom and gloom soon.
  12. I have a different experience. Some of my friends who follow other sports pretty religiously (international football, baskeball, tennis) are aware of the list and so they contacted me about it since they know I like Yuzu and he is on the list. I directed them to the article, and their follow up questions were "so, he is kinda an idol because he is beautiful?" "apart from winning while injured, how good is he actually?" "Pooh?" I mean, it's still good, cz I then can "educate" them about Yuzu, but well. That said quite a lot about how (not) informative that article is. Kinda related, but all of us also follow Badminton, and we shared a good laugh at the inclusion of the only shuttler on the list. Nothing against her personally, but when talking badminton, she is nowhere near the level of the legends of the other sports included in the list. Which goes to say, the list is not self-explanatory for sports US is largely rather ignorant about.
  13. The article was basic, with an added touch of what his fans at the parade said to the writer. But, I am kinda wondering what sort of questions she asked them? Cz I bet some fans will know one or two things about his skating and will answer questions about it if asked. It doesn't even have to be much, just about how he brings programs balanced in superior athleticism and distinguished artistry, and how that sets him apart and why he wins, would be enough for me. But, nope, not even that. And the writer's admission of what her editor wants kinda explains it all. Which brings me to "what is up with NA media obsession of Yuzu's Pooh?" Anyway, someone once said they would like to rewrite such articles so that it could be up to our standard. Are you still doing it?
  14. Oh definitely, her skating has always been enjoyable, even when she made mistakes in her competitive programs. This program is mesmerising as well, and she picks a really good music, too. The dresses!!! It's a friendly war already, people are arguing which one looks better, and I am just, they are all good, give me mooooore!! And yes, the non-covered boots is a hot issue as well. I mean, her boots were uncovered during the PC opening, but this is a full program, and we are shook.
  15. The queen wore this on the third day Watched the videos as well, it seems like the program was basically a solo ice dance minus intricate steps: No jumps, plenty of twizzles, 2 spins (broken camel included but only camel and upright variations - and maaaaybe a sit variation), no spiral, layback Ina Bauer. My point is you can tell she has only been back to practice for a month, after, well, 4 years of not doing it. I also find it a bit odd to see her skate without the boots covered. Still very expressive and lovely as always, tho.
  16. Queen! How I have missed you. And with pretty dresses!!
  17. Hmm, I don't think the navy blue skyfall is the first version. She wore this for Lombardia: And I seem to remember another black costume with a choker? I'm maybe just being delusional again.
  18. That's why I put the 'probably' there, which you didn't bold I should've just put, 'here's another skater who did the outward-pointing-toe-pick on his Lz and F, Machida', my bad
  19. Ah, Yuzu took the outward-pointing-toe-pick on his Lz and F from Machida, probably. Here's another skater who did the outward-pointing-toe-pick on his Lz and F: Machida. Alice's.
  20. I have a friend who does crossfit training every day. She (and yes it's a she) eats a LOT more than that, and she is half my size(in terms of thickness and wideness - I'm measured 165cm, 60-65kg depending on the situation). I don't know whether you are active or not, but for active people, those portions are really small. Especially for a man who does competitive sport, as is the case for Yuzu.
  21. Hmm, I've been hearing in recent years, scientific studies have been unable to confirm the supposed negative effect of MSG to the general population. I mean, if it is truly harmful, it would have been outrightly banned worldwide. It seems like the bad rep it got might not be fully justified. In any case, too much of anything usually end badly. Too much salt is not good for hypertension-prone individual, and absolutely yucky for people who doesn't like the salty taste. I grew up with a grandma who put a pinch of ajinomoto in any soupy food she made. I never felt any different eating those compare to eating her other food. Also, Ajinomoto is a company producing many different food-related product. As such, surely they do extensive research on the field. I am sure the food they provide Yuzu is the best and most suitable for him.
  22. Erm, I'm guessing that's the whole point of them not wanting to go back to Paris. I don't think @Winnie_20 was trying to ask you to do any of those. It's a fact of life that those less fortunate people exist in some parts of the world, and we can accept that. But if people are uncomfortable and feel unsafe with it, you can't really force them to shake off the feeling, and it is well within their rights not to want to go back to Paris because of that. Disclaimer, I am living in the Netherlands at the moment. Before that, I lived in Indonesia for the first 26 years of my life. I love Indonesia and am proud of being Indonesian. But now that I live here, I can understand why people would feel uncomfortable and unsafe travelling to Jakarta or other Indonesian cities (except maybe Bali). I've been robbed in Jakarta, I've also been robbed here. But overall I fell much safer here, even as a foreigner.
  23. No, you weren't mean at all, that's why I listened
