  1. This has pretty much been the main reason behind most of the, albeit mild as of late, overzealousness. Worry about him losing friends over fans reactions in other skaters' SNS, reading too much between the lines when he commented on using SEIMEI for PC (this is me and I think it was @WinForPooh who knocked some sense back into me😅), speculating what his interactions and/or lack of interactions with active and retired skaters must mean, extending his comment on image training to mean he would need so and so to train with him to get better at something, etc., etc., and now this. I mean, the tendency is unavoidable, perhaps. We so ardently love Zu, it comes with the territory. We kinda treat him like how we wanted to be treated, we projected unto him how we would feel, react, think if we were on his shoes. We need to be reminded often, that we are not Zu, Zu is not us. Hence, I suppose it's a good thing we have the Planet where when one or some of us set our beard on fire (a saying that probably only makes sense in Bahasa Indonesia, but 😅), there are others who would put it off, given that we actually let them.
  2. Nope. Still maintaining my position that what Tutberidze did on Sunday, the (attempted) character assassination of her former student, is wrong. No matter the motivation. That's the part I'm judging (for which I gain no personal satisfaction whatsoever, by the way). And the reasons have all been elaborated repeatedly, we're turning into broken records. That's the last time I'm commenting on this matter.
  3. Nah, I still stand by my opinion that Tutbe should not have done any of what she did on Sunday. I understand completely why she would be upset. I still don't think what she did is justifiable. Bringing in another pop culture reference from a show I adore as a comparison:
  4. You just dashed my hope. I mean, I kinda suspected, but still.
  5. Erm, Mai skated to Mission Impossible? When? I need to watch if she did.
  6. I... am going out for a walk. Planet better not be on fire when I come back. I mean, we just put this one off. Russia FS fandom, can't you chill just for a minute?
  7. NBC mucking the water. Murica, can't help but meddling.
  8. Ah, joining you now that Medv has replied with such class. Eyebrow game will never be THAT on point tho I've never been proud of her skating, but this moment, THIS MOMENT. Hat's off to you, girly. Re: Tsurkaya,
  9. Titus Andromedon squad!!! He would know how to sass his way out of Tutberidze's clutch. Quick Medv, get yourself a Titus!
  10. That's not the part of my post that you quoted, so I have no way to know that's what you mean. I responded to your respond based on what you quoted from my original post. Lipnitskaya wasn't able to do anything to truly damage Tut. Medv does have popularity and history on her side if she want to yield them. About Eteri destroying herself, take a look again at the 2nd part of the post of mine you just quoted. Better yet, take a look at the fandom yourself. The one outside the Planet, I mean.
  11. Medv is giving her statement tomorrow. That's the doing part I am referring to. Not all of Tutberidze's current students can escape her clutch unscathed. Look at what's happening with Medv now. ___ Also, look at how divided the fandom is. I still do not get why exactly people who claim to know the kind of person Tutberidze is, still maintain an 18 yo should have read what she would do today, and prevented it. Whatever Medv would have done, by their own account, they should know Tut would turn it ugly. Sometimes my brain fails to compute how such logic can occur let alone is repeatedly voiced.
  12. Which is exactly why I do not get why you still think Medv is also at fault here.
  13. Disclaimer, I am not a fan of either Tutberidze or Medvedeva. But, no. I still do not think what Tut did today is justifiable in any way, shape, or form. Why exactly Medv moves out, how exactly it went down, WHEN exactly it all happens, those are no longer relevant. What Tut did today is a character assassination of her former student. She is not only the adult but also the figure of authority. This is not how she should have handled it. Especially after what went down with Lipnitskaya and Pitkev. She never learns. Part of me wants Medv to destroy her. But I also know of the negative impact it might have on the youngins left at the club, so I hope Medv will choose the higher ground. Whatever will be tomorrow, will be. ... I guess.
  14. Yep. ___ Plus, Tutbe drags her other students into this as well. Also, Tutbe is the one with past ugly breakups in the not-so-opaque closet. Any angle you look this from, this has become Tutbe's fault in its entirety.
  15. Pass some for me, please. I'll get some drinks. Request?
  16. If you two had just jinxed her, I am haunting you both for the entirety of the next season
  17. I can't. It's gonna take too much of my energy to point each and every proposal that I think is beyond ridiculous, and the wasted energy isn't going to affect whether the proposal gets approved or not. I'll wait to rage until the new rules are officially announced.
  18. My former educator self is always wanting to protect children from all sacrifices needed to reach the top of anything, including competitive sport. So, I am all for raising the age limit. If it's all for the sake of protecting the young ones from peaking too early (which in figure skating means not only having more physical injuries and permanent negative alteration to the body but also being exposed to expectation, media scrutiny, and fans harassment), by all means. Just... these people... Arutunian, really? Orser, seriously? And yes, the full emphasis on the ladies feels so much like a direct attack on the state of Russian's ladies which are totally out of reach by other feds. But as far as I am concerned, the utter dominance of Medvedeva and Zagitova wouldn't have happened if the judges did their job properly, or even semi-properly. If the rise of BV doesn't automatically make judges also deliriously increase the GOEs and the PCS, more mature skaters would have stood a chance. The so-called "competitive reason" is total bullpucky, and in my ears what I can hear is "We are inferior to them, so let's bring them down to our level". So, I guess the question is whether we care about the intent or the impact? Because I tend to care more about the impact, I'd say yes to increasing the age limit. As for those with questionable intentions, they will get their due.
  19. IKR!!! I was too giddy and was laughing nonstop, I think I spook him. But, I mean, I know where he livesMy next mission confirmed: adding one fanboy to the forum
  20. Woops, you're right. My bad, math in the morning. I edited the post. But, yeah. It's... something.
