  1. Interrupting with this: Zu dying of embarrassment subbed.
  2. I suck at this kinda thing, but I'd like an EX choreographed by Stephane Lambiel. Just... perhaps not one like Lambiel's cat routine.
  3. Giving my totally unasked two cents: Yuzu's Lutzes. I don't have the data with me, but I don't think he necessarily has a problem with this type of jump. Yes, he sometimes messed it up. But if my memory serves me right, most of them are either on the Lz that are in the 2nd half of the program, or in combo, or coming out of difficult transitions. The oddness of his 3Lz in the latest seasons was due mainly to being the last jumping pass and the 4Lz training. He used to mess 3S too when it was the last jumping pass back in his younger years. Unless people will also tell me his Salchows are problematic, especially since the quad version gave him so much trouble during Sochi season and the combo of doom did the same in 2016/17 season? In which case, well, that's the point isn't it? He messed 3S when he used it as the last jumping passes, I assume due to that being his most comfortable triple then, upgrade it to 4S, landed it, but took a loooong while to stabilize it. But after that, he got it. Both the quad and the triple version. His -Lo-3S combo is among the best there is, if not THE best. His 4Ss were amazing in PC, and the 4S3T combo was gorgeous; all done while still recovering from the ankle injury in the highest of all stages. That's the pattern with Yuzu. His fall on the 4Lz at NHK is traumatic (and the fact that the media always go with the line "He sustained injury to his right ankle while training the most difficult quad, the 4Lz during the NHK November 2017" doesn't help), but it was more "because he kept on training while recovering from a fever (which the media of course conveniently always forgets to mention)", than "because it was a 4Lz". And so the pattern was interrupted. I wouldn't use that as the basis upon which to predict/conclude whether or not he would land 4Lz in the future. Not going to touch on 4A or the quints, cz, well. I'll comment on it, when I see it landed.
  4. OT, I like the Paralympics medal better.
  5. Japanese speakers, get on it! *cough* I mean, while I do this re: Japanese language.
  6. Interrupting the current flow of convo with a complain: Habu-san was wearing THAT!! *with the most pathetic whine I can muster* Why can't Zu wear a similar thing instead of the better-but-still-not-quite fitting suit???
  7. As there are 6 types of jumps, if we want skaters to actually learn all of them, drastically decreasing the number of jumping passes would actually be very restricting, and would make the free skate resembles the short program too much.
  8. Has this been posted anywhere here? German speakers, help!!
  9. Crossposting my posts from Team China thread, and I am shutting up. *whisper @Yatagarasu
  10. I think several more knowledgeable people than me have been pointing this out a lot, but the decision doesn't depend on any one person only. On top of my head, there are at least 4 potential frontrunners in the men ONLY that Orser has taken on (Yuzu, Orzel, Gogolev, Cha). All of whom also have feds that might be lobbying for them just as hard as CSA, which Orser might not necessarily want to deal with. 2 direct competitors training under one roof was already tough to manage, let alone 4. There's also the fact that Orser is not the only coach at TCC. CSA might wish for Jin to be sent training under Orser, but that's not going to be the only thing factored into the decision. Look, I am telling all of this to myself, too. But Murphy's law.I just don't want a mass breakdown on the Planet if it didn't happen.
  11. Last paragraph, people. They are still negotiating. Don't get your hopes up just yet. (Me at me: >.>)
  12. It's been raised several pages ago, but let me just say, whoah IOC. Not even being subtle at all about the Olympics Games being a money-making branch of capitalism? Do I cry or do I laugh? Also, I don't think they need to worry about Japan not stepping up. Have you seen their presentation back in Rio? No way it will be less epic than that. And, man. You people separate the Winter Olympics from the Summer Olympics. I know seeing Yuzuru Hanyu's popularity now probably makes you regret that decision, but seriously. You just have to live with that decision and shut it.
  13. Not "one of these days"! Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it, do it!!! ETA: I forgot the bribe incentive. What would you like? Food? Gems? Zu's merch? Skating boots? Blades? Left arm? Right foot? Either kidney?
  14. *high five I always read Ci the same way you'd pronounce "Chin" without the 'n'.
  15. Wait, wait, that's how you pronounce ANA? I've always said it (err, in my head, at least) like how Elsa calls Anna from Frozen.
  16. You mean, this: But basically, it's that old and tiresome talk about how skating must be as balletic as possible. If I recall correctly, Sasha Cohen used to be famous for being able to do that. I personally can't tell. Also, how on earth are skaters expected to do that while on skating boots? ... If anyone can point to me where in ISU official document I can find this thing, I'd concur. Until then,
  17. LMAO, the tweet takes the caption of the first photo instead of the first line of the news or the title and it's glorious.
