  1. Just noticed your location lol xD don't die under their fluff...
  2. W-Weren't that supposed to be a watered down version? Like, I count 5 quad attempts (the first half without the entry steps???), two triple axels (acting up???YUZU???Guys remind me it's just a practice...), and the only not jumped/attempted elemement is 3F (it's either that stable, or he still don't trust his edge without distracting steps ) and the spins (that are marked anyway- I feel new arm movements coming)...THE SPIRAL STAYS!hopefully and the step sequence...darn, now I really have no chance of sleeping the next two days, I NEED to watch competition live... *Prays Chopin will behave* His face at the beginning tho..."So, do I show them everything or do I go watered down?Nahahah, gotta play a bit." Edit: sorry, only 4 quad attempts, the second was a triple...or was it? My head spins... @Hydroblade and the rest of live watching satellites, are you okay? You alive?
  3. That is terryfying, especially when you remember You're speaking about a country where a still living writer (Maria Arbatowa- original of the book is called "меня 46" or "I'm 46" but I remember my language translation deviating from it quite a lot) described her rehab on a limping leg like what survivors describe nazi camps. It was just the popular belief- if you weren't healthy enough to work, you brought shame upon your family and you should be grateful to your country for taking care of you, even if it looked more like a jail than a school. Then, few years later she writes about the situation in the hospital- where the children weren't given the sedatives because "they weren't feeling the pain like the adults" according to the doctors... So, if this was a belief in the, say 70. who can guarantee the idea of "soft bones" and "not feeling pain like adults" didn't remain? and while soft bones could technically be true (oversimplizing, but still), I don't think it apply to soft joints...but then again, people did strange things to their children to give them a chance to be good for society/ beautiful (foot binding, anyone?) There is so many things that get into figure skating that being simply "Flexible" isn't leading you anywhere, especially if it is "fixed" flexibility. Yuzuru admitted to being flexible since the youngest age, but just as Arakawa, he made a point of having to train to maintain it- just as he has to do with the muscles that keeps joints in place, and those that are needed to jump, or the skating skills to maintain the precision.
  4. I'm predictable, but the only Warhorses I remember are Yuzuru's and Shizuka's Turandot (which is my actual first female solist program I watched, ngl), the swan lake makes me torn between the White Legend and cyberswan (I adore variations), as for R&J...Yuzuru, but Marin had come pretty close last year, too... Sheherezade I stand by Yuna Kim if only because my class at the presentation about the Russian compositors I co-created made us watch the whole thing instead of a minute or so like I planned- it has to say something Though Rachmaninov is still Mao's compositor...
  5. Going to cheer him on! It does remind you of a certain angry strawberry with a cross on his chest, doesn't it? (Even if the reasons are absolutely different...)
  6. No help will help you, I can only send my chocolate cake recipe- it successfully makes even me the literal sweet tooth, full, so maybe it will help you save a bit on your shopping
  7. The only remotely lose to my timezone competition is Rostelecom, and I'll be away anyway at this time (unless the wifi at my place during the exchange will be strong enough to survive me streaming the whole thing- any satellite from Lublana can confirm/deny my hopes?)
  8. I Adore how some of us practically quote Max by heart xD Here you go lv4 bold prediction: Max gets invited by ISU to overview technical/judging panel at work.
  9. Just noticed that my family's going to be reeeally surprised at me going to bed really early this Sunday...since I'm going to get up around 2 am to watch the Long xD Thanks god short is...oh wait, short is only 20 minutes earlier on Saturday... no sleep for this Pooh -,-Well, I got to watch Helsinki mid-day (first live-streamed comp!) so I shouldn't complain too much
  10. Don't kill Hydro and the rest of the world just yet, Yuzu!
  11. I'm surprised we don't react similar to you, Hydroblade, and that there isn't more of us. In my case the reaction was: a-ahahahHAHAHAHAKWDJHFGRSJ;LSD BHUIASJBV. There are normal skater-level, then there is Yuzuru-level. The usual So you say no need to make him a honorable member, make him a full member? xD I guess I'll try to get a bit of sleep, so maybe I'll avoid looking at the open practice, and will rely on you guys here, and Hydro and the rest in Canada to report any news... Yeah, sure, as if I'd do such reasonable thing with Yuzu...
  12. Can we make Max an honourable member of PH? or something? Maybe a Godfather? he technically is that already, tho xD
  13. Yay, now we need a Pratchett thread to gather together and throw in a bunch of our ideas and thoughts of the Books! GNU Terry Prtchett indeed! Definitely a good sign (not omen, tho xD) Yep it is. I'm getting OT, but imagine an AU with it being the rightful protector of Yuzuru's things! All the suffering of the people trying to harass Pooh in Yuzuru's absence Oh you did propose it first...doesn't matter, now I need a fanart of that image!
  14. We will, and I'm looking forward to reading the essays! I must say, I ADORE spins, idk, if well placed thay have more wow factor for me than the quads *legasp!* but then again, delayed 1A had more impact than some of the quads for me (as somebody on tumblr rightly hashtagged #mysinglesarebetterthanyourquads)...still, I'd watch Deniss over unsure Shoma (Maybe not unsure, but when he says he was nervous his final spin travels a bit...), Nate and Boyang... and it's one of the reasons I love Cricket training tactics? Every element gets the attention it deserves, and I could write ode to TCC skater's spins If I had any poetic inclinations (be grateful I don't xD), even the male-ish, stiff/scared ones of Javi (why his face looks so scared when he rotates anything...) I guess that's one of the final reasons "Swan" used to make me love it- it doesn't have spins, it has THE spins xD
  15. Tracy would be so proud of us remembering the last two^^ I wish there were more Tracy emojis...
  16. You're welcome! Always glad to make people laugh!
  17. My first reaction to it was basically: "Oh sh*t" Our fanartists have so so so much talent and ideas Whereas I struggle with coming up with original, but nice sounding and easy to remember name ... Also ohmygod shampooneko's Chopin, me dead!
  18. I have sooo much to catch up on, I'm putting a spoiler here, as I can't just decide on NOT quoting everyone I want to talk to -,-''. Sorry for spamming you guys with the likes and quote's notifications!
  19. I'd love to have him finish his usual: 'I'm really regretful with...." with a more positive "but the x was kinda good, so, yeah, I'm also happy" sorry for the mush, I should be sleeping. I seriously need to start threading through the rest of the forum...I seem to be missing a lot of FS education!
  20. As a someone who just recently moved herself, I'm going to cheer for you from the bottom of my heart... I think he whined a bit on the landing being too reliant on a toe or something (lol, the only thing I caught from the mass of kanjis on the screen is the kana for toe xD) Salt attacks! Hope he sweat it all out! But seriously, I would understand the nitpicking for the NHK (Chopin's Salchow...-,-' I still don't know how he saves that aside of Japanese knee-powerTM Every time somebody mentions TCC reacting to the, excuse my wording, Sh*tstorm that is ISU and quad-craze oriented stuff, I think about two things: first, this wonderful Emoji of Brian here that somehow got translated for me as 'lol, nope' (as in 'lol, nope, it's my skater with two quads less than yours who still beats his own records'). So: Reading old icenetwork article and having to read things like: "Hanyu jumps big enough, but could start rotating quicker for my taste"?> Reading whines about Cricket skaters being overscored?> Getting dissed for preferring Rippons over Tanos?> (not really, original Tanos are/were really nice too, sorry Brian) Separating artistic and athletic programs, aka returning to compulsory? > (sorry for bringing cancer up again, especially with Brian's face so close >.<) AAAnd the second thing, is this incorrect quote I've read long, long time ago on tumblr: My children are strange, but they are brave and powerful and impeccably groomed” — Brian Orser Now I also kinda remember Brian casually throwing shade at the judges holding back on his skaters, but that's kinda fitting with the quote from above-sorry for the long rant! Also hyped for Cricket Brothers sharing the Challenger series!
  21. He'll cover the song a'la Rippon! Speaking of which: Rippon's cover of "Diamonds" will top the weekly charts!
  22. It's SUCH a good thing I have a family outing at the beginning of this week, by the time we return, I will have only two or three days to panic before the real thing starts... GORGEOUS theme, just sayin'
  23. Dear Pooh, we really needed that here. I really do wonder about nasty rivalry vs friendly rivalry thing... y'know, JpnTv paints ShomavsYuzu the same way they did YuzuvsDai (aka. 'the rising star threatens the Ace!'), meanwhile with JaviVsYuzu they were pretty much 'd'aww they're such good friends and rinkmates, and colleagues, oh, and top two skaters in the world I guess, which means rivals, but it doesn't really matter, kind of, you know? Because they're SO FRIENDLY <3 <3 <3' Like. Shouldn't they paint their own as more friendly? Like, for patriotic purposes? 'Sharing hinomaru's weight on their shoulders on top of the world' or something? Idk? Guess the local drama sells better than overseas war...?
