  1. We have a poll here, maybe it could be useful, it's got a map too.
  2. At least in women's the choices are pretty good, but holy molly, what's up with Russian men. Is Kolyada still recovering? Does Aliev have an injury or is he actually that much of a headcase? They have quads, so clearly they're talented, but they can't seem to put it all together. Is it a question of the amount of training? Training methods? Stability? Just the mental game? It's just so puzzling.
  3. But seriously, guys, I'm so nervous about the layout. 4A is out of question but Yuzu really really needs to do a 4 quad program with a 4Lo. If Nathan goes clean with 4 or 5 quads - it's a real possibility than Nathan will upgrade his layout - the small difference in GOE and PCS won't put *Yuzu* in the first place if Yuzu only goes with a 4S annd a 4T. Edited because I made a major mistake.
  4. I think you're selling him short. I bet he'll do 4Lz instead of 4S and 4T-Eu-4S,.
  5. Eh, for some reason I thought that the announcement of the Laureus award would be via SN and the ceremony sometime later. Lol. As it is, it doesn't look like Yuzu will be there. If he were planning to attend, I think he would have said so in his message. Which means that Yuzu probably won't win because what's the point of giving an award to someone who won't show up, from the point of view of a commercial event?
  6. If the results are to be known on 18th, then the video is probably too late to influence the voting in any way, as the decision must have been made. Also, do we know for sure it was Laureus that got Yuzu to record it? I'd think it's more likely that it was somebody savvy on Yuzu's Canadian or Japanese team that convinced him. "Even if you don't win today, they may nominate you one day again for something if you play nice, it never hurts to make a bit of a media effort, keep your options open."
  7. I absolutely looveBelieve, it's my favorite show-special by Yuzu ever. He's soooo into it it makes my heart happy!
  8. I already told my boss I'm taking the Saturday off.
  9. I looked up a torrent site and the Match Arena broadcast for Helsinki Men's SP was 4 hours as well. They usually broadcast the whole competition. There were 36 guys. The broadcast for Ladies SP was 4h45 min () for 37 ladies. In 2018 it was 4h50 min for 37 guys (I actuallynsat through yhem all in the arena, I have no idea how, though.) We don't know how many skaters there are going to be (There are currently 36 prognosed) but the SPs are probably going to take 4-5 hours.
  10. Is this what you mean? http://wfc2019.jp/eng/schedule.html It doesn't say what time the events finish, but generally Free Skates are about 4 hours (1 hour per group).
  11. According to new rules, only the last jump in the SP receives the 10% bonus if it's in the second half. Yuzu already put the combo there because it gives him the biggest bonus. Fun fact: it appears that only Nathan and Yuzu go for the quad combo as the last, bonus-eligible jumping pass. Most guys do the 3A as their last, a few a triple-triple combo.
  12. Re: Brian's spinning They also implied that Yuzu was fine when he was wasn't.. How can trust any word concerning Yuzu's condition coming out Brian's mouth? I'm afraid of getting my hopes up too much, no matter whether Brian's trying to spin Yuzu's condition as better or worse than he really is.
  13. Worlds 2017 SP almost gave me a heart attack. I was in the audience and sat close enough that boards obstructed my view and I didn't know the extent of the mistake entirely, and afterwards I couldn't focus on my favorite SP because I was worried so much about the score! It's an experience I never want to repeat again, live or otherwise!
  14. "Fandom drama"? I think the general chat is ok for this but if it bothers many people a separate thread makes sense. We could just knock ourselves out there, even rehashing old stuff if we felt like it.
  15. Eh, that "Yuzu is successful because of Javi" may be just an exaggerated version of our favorite " they push each other" motif. As Javi's girlfriend/ex-gf it wouldn't be surprising, some people tend to have some blinders when it comes to their partners. In the video, Miki just appears to be telling the truth and is rather nice about it. Yuzu just isn't friendly with everybody. The retweet is a puzzle though.
  16. It's not the first time I see extreme ironing as a hobby in isu bios, it made me look the sport up. I couldn't believe it sort of really exists!
  17. Maybe Yuzu's brain is rewriting history a bit? I always got an impression that, as a kid, going to 2014 Olympics was a goal and in 2018 the goal was to win. I seem to recall some snippet where wee Yuzu was saying that in 2014 he'd be 19 so he could go and in 2018 he'd be 23 so he'd win it. I could remember wrong though. Looking back, the stakes at Pyeongchang were so infinitely higher for him. I think he'd have been ok with medal of any color at Sochi, but in Pyongchang he'd have been devastated by anything less than gold.
  18. Take away 5 pts and you'd get an international score with generous panel. Still worth worrying about for Yuzu. I'm just hoping that with Worlds being in Japan Yuzu will get some benefit of home inflation too.
  19. After the Euros Dance finished, I watched Eurosport's "Watt's Zap" flashes and they showed a whole section on Rostelecom's Poohs: the shower, costumes in the audience, the giant fish.
  20. Here it is, on Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BwGFBWoXFrEKAufTbcAlpFwEWs8asRur/view?usp=drivesdk Edit: sorry, I didn't realize the link was blocked. I unblocked it, it should work now!
  21. Yep, that was me, glad you liked it! I got a notification that it was blocked in Japan due to Fuji copyrights. At least it wasn't deleted; I think I'll upload it on googledrive or vimeo.
