  1. ^^ Oh, you mean European folk music? Well, Rika Hongo did Riverdance and she was universally praised for it, and Junhwan did the Gypsy Dance and everybody liked it.
  2. Huh? I don't think you will find anyone here not loving Yuzu's Ballade, Etude, Swan Lake, Notte Stellata, or R&J (if we can qualify Yuzu's R&J as a standard European thing). Actually, I've never met a European FS fan anywhere who would hold skating to European music against a skater from another continent. Frankly, I suspect that Europeans, especially casual fans of FS would rather watch standard European things no matter who skates because that's what they've always been watching. Their conservatism would rather make them less interested in more exotic programs. (I did see opinions that Seimei was "boring" during the Olys, and never a word against Ballade, but I think the people with that opinion were American rather than European since I was attending American-mostly places.)
  3. I generally made a decision I wanted to see him live after his 2014 GPF win, when he accomplished the victory after all that CoC/NHK nightmare and was so happy. My personal favorite skating moment of his is this, at 2:22/2:23 when he comes out of the spin, lowers his hands and raises his head, and there's that vulnerable expression on his face. His whole body seeemed to radiate something between vulnerability and awakening and I remember seeing it SO CLEARLY from my 12th row and being completely wowed by that tiny detail.
  4. That's pretty awesome, pity they didn't try the rest of the face.
  5. Because anybody can edit a wikipedia and Yuzu fans always want to be up to date? Shoma and Kolyada's wikipedia pages don't provide their new system records in their basic info so I guess nobody bothered to edit it, or the fans of Shoma and Kolyada don't like their new scores and don't want to edit them just yet.
  6. I think they simply didn't put all available tickets up for sale. Not straight away, at least. Tickets had been supposedly sold out but a week or so before ACI they became available for sale again so I think the organizes put up on sales the remaining tickets they had withheld before. It would have been too late for Japanese/Chinese/European fans o organize a trip but it would have enable lockal people to go if they wanted. Last year was fighting for best seasts which were unassigned, people reserving their seats with a scarf and staff, unfamiliar with the custom, removing those scarves which resulted in fans being angry or confused. So, chaos.
  7. I wish I knew what's playing in his ears. About the Canadian skater tweeting: As long as she got permission from Ghislain and she's reasonable about the kind of information she tweets, it seems ok. I understand the need to share, if you had an interesting tidbit of information like that Ghislain thought Yuzu's bandage was his costume or that Evgenia chose her program herself, that you knew people would love to know too, wouldn't you want to share? It's good to know that Yuzu's faltering was mostly because of his nerves and skating a new program and not because of unhealed injuries or bad physical condition.
  8. Ah I see. I haven't read all of her tweets so I missed the fact she got an ok from Ghislain. It looked really bad at the first glance.
  9. Uhh.... I looked at her tweets and I think I have a problem with this person herself. There's A LOT reporting on what looks like personal conversations between her and Ghislain. Frankly, she looks like either a stalker fan herself, or an internet attention seeker. She complains about stalker fans and then reveals what Ghislain told her in private, which I'm finding really two-faced. So she's a French skater, is she a personal friend of Ghislain or his student or...? She's like Doug Haw who blabbers n TSL about what BOrser told him, sounds like betrayal of trust. ETA: She's a skater at TCC who started lessons in September. which makes me wonder how long she'll remain Ghislain's student when they get wind of that. I mean, I don't think Ghislain or other coaches want to have to be worried whether anything they say will wind up on twitter. Given how she was a big fan of Yuzu before she joined TCC, I seriously doubt Ghislain just mentioned all that stuff in passing, I suspect she steered conversation that way.
  10. Can anyone tell me when this was? I just saw it and it's awesome.
  11. Thank you so much for explaining! It does make sense now, and it does fit Yuzu quite well. Actually Javi's sentiment of Yuzu being comical/from a comic book seems quite similar.
  12. 4CC if he goes there. I'm actually praying for no 4A in Helsinki, because it's bound to mess up the rest of the program even if he lands it. Though, logically speaking, Helsinki and Rostelecom would be strategically recommended, even if he's messy he could win against Kolyada/Jin, who are likely to be messy too.
  13. They haven't updated. SP record at least belings to Shoma, over 104.
  14. Well, it was 6 quads vs. Yuzu's 4 quads, and included 4Lz and two 4Fs. So I don't think it was ridiculous.
  15. Has there ever been a Lord of the Rink banner?
  16. With his new haircut Jason is unrecognizable to me...
  17. So... minimum size goat 30cm so it'd be seen? My hand luggage won't handle more but anything smaller willl be undistinguishable. But, what of Yuzu splats all over? Goats would be a bit ironic then. Poohs are safer because they're just a sign of love. And and, throwing Nessie might look like putting a pressure on Yuzu? I don't know I don't know ...
  18. But... goats! I was gearing up to throw plushie goats!
  19. A waiter shirt and a waistcoat a'la Han Yan.
  20. Considering how much of a head-fi fan he is, it's probably a side-effect of his audiophile tendencies. His studies are different, but I wonder if he could go into music editing as his post-competitive career, or if he'd get bored or frustrated doing it for others.
  21. I hope Yuzu will go crazy costume-wise. I also hope he'll go Haru Yo Koi crazy and not Dory crazy. I hope he won't be going far in Plushenko's direction.
